Was the world created in six days? The answer to that question is yes, a most definite yes. Just take
a look at the Grand Canyon; layers of sediment are proof of how the flood brought different layers
of dirt. As you go farther down the Grand Canyon, you can see the different levels of sedimentary
rock. You can see that the different layers line up with each other, almost as if someone drew a line

The problem in scientific creationism, and what I see as a reason for its exclusion from the science
classroom in public schools, is the fact that it looks as if, from the outside, the whole theory that it
rest on is simply a contortion of the traditional version of creation described in Genesis, custom–
made to fit in with Darwin's theory of evolution. R. M. Hare would probably say that scientific
creationism is simply a modification of the story of creation in Genesis, to fit into the ÒblikÓ of the
religious fundamentalist. A blik, as Hare describes it, is a pre–set worldview held by all people, in

when you dig deeper and truly seek to understand the mysteries underlining the Biblical view of
creation can you uncover the secrets of so much more. Along with the the discussion of the Biblical
view of creation, it is also necessary to assess when this event occurred, and what further impact in
had on later history.
According to Genesis, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1).
Even in all of its simplicity, it would seem that this very verse embodies the Biblical view of
creation in its entirety. Delving deeper within the realm of creation, however, its simplistic nature
soon disintegrates as this purposeful, historical account unfolds. From start to finish, this intricately
woven account encompasses an all–knowing and omnipotent God who renders forth in six, 24–hour
days, the earth and all of its creation. In the course of six, short days, all of creation sprang forth at
the hands of the almighty God. It began on day one, "God created the heavens and the earth"
(Genesis 1:1): Including the vast expanse of our cosmic world and far–reaching terrestrial sphere

unfolds some very well–known stories in Genesis. Armstrong goes through each of the stories of

of Genesis can be difficult to understand and it holds many mysteries within it, but with the help of
Karen Armstrong, we are able to understand the stories of Genesis and what they mean.

The Old World position on the creation of everything is backed by the most evidence, both biblically
and scientifically, when compared to the other positions of theism and New World creationism. This
is due to the fact that the other two positions end up ignoring or denying points of significant proofs

Americans believe God created humans as they are now ten–thousand years ago, and that the only

first three days are days in the sense that we now understand them? Our current day is delineated via

I have come to realize this debate only leads to endless and meaningless conversations that miss the

In the apocryphal Wisdom of Solomon (first century, BC ) we find Wisdom directing human history
including creation. In Wisdom 9:1–2 we see explicit reference to personified Wisdom forming man.
Further, in Wisdom 10:1 we see personified Wisdom protecting the "first–formed father of the
world, when he alone had been created." Clearly, the author of Wisdom in the first century saw
Wisdom as a present figure at the beginning of God's creative work. Philo adds further support here
as is found in his Questions and Answers on Genesis, "And who is to be considered the daughter of
God but Wisdom, who is the first–born mother of all things and most of all of those who are greatly
purified in soul?" Wisdom in Philo's reasoning seems to have been present as the "mother of all
things." Philo not surprisingly takes the "us" of Genesis 1:26–27 further than personified Wisdom
though as he writes, "God said, ...'Let us make' indicating more than one. So the Father of all things
is holding parley with His powers, whom He allowed to fashion the mortal portion of our soul." This
is actually Philo's solution to the problem of evil in mankind – God only created that which is good
in man ("that invisible reasoning faculty free from admixture" ), which shows us we are venturing

Answers in Genesis resulted from the merging of two Australian creationist organizations in 1980.
One was founded in the late 1970s by John Mackay, Ken Ham, and others as Creation Science
Educational Media Services. Its founders believed that the established Christian church's teaching of
the Bible was being compromised. The group merged with Carl Wieland's Creation Science
Association in 1980, becoming the Creation Science Foundation (CSF) that later became Answers in
Genesis. In 1987, Ken Ham was seconded by CSF to work for the Institute for Creation Research
(ICR) in the United States, then in 1994 left ICR to found Answers In Genesis–USA. Later that year,
CSF in Australia and other countries changed their names to Answers In Genesis so that all the sister
organizations would share the same identity. The branches of AiG remained legally separate, since

The US and UK branches retained the AiG name and control of the AiG website under Ham's
leadership. The Australian, Canadian, New Zealand, and South African branches rebranded

How the world people are living in right now was created in the beginning? Humankind has been
asking this question throughout the centuries, and some people throw some answers to this question.
People in Israel answer that God created the heaven and earth in the beginning while Babylonians
answer that Marduk establishes the natural order and dwelling for gods after win a battle. The reason
that these two ethnic groups respond differently is because they have been walked through different
history and worldview. Enuma Elish, which is the Babylonian creation epic, and the book of Genesis
in the Bible, what Israelites believe, shows little similar sense but totally different idea of creation.
From the first part of each writing, book of Genesis and Enuma Elish, the similarity and difference
can be found. In the beginning, the world in both Genesis and Enuma Elish does not have shape.
There is nothing but just emptiness before creation in Genesis: "In the beginning God created the
heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the
deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters" (New International Version 1:1–2).
Enuma Elish also does not have things to be called but just gods are existed: "When on high no
name was given to heaven / Nor below was the netherworld called by name, / Primeval Apsu was
their progenitor. / And matrix–Tiamat was she who bore them all, / They were mingling their waters
together, / No canebrake was intertwined nor thicket matted close. / When no gods at all had been
brought forth, Nor called by names, non destinies ordained" (Enuma Elish Tablet 1 1–8).
Furthermore, both God and gods are staying in the water in the beginning of the creation. It is
interesting that the water is mentioned in both writings. However, although there are some
similarities in both, there is a radical difference inherent between both stories. Genesis is written and
fiducially focusing on the one and only God that no other god is mentioned. It simply says God
creates the world. In contrast, Enuma Elish mentions two names Apsu and Tiamat and explains that
