Materials Coordinator/ lead
I have been assigned to the Logistics Operational Center by and The Logistic Company as a Logistics
Management specialist and later as a Material Coordinator. I have worked in this position from 1 NOV 2006 till
present. I have worked numerous units for a total of over 2,000 soilders. Each of these units encountered
problems that were unique in nature, therefore forcing me into a training situation unlike any other Material
coordinator in the office. I faced the problems head on with the support of my lead and obtained the knowledge
that now allows me to train all new Material Coordinator and assist my colleagues with their difficulties.
My duty as Material Coordinator/ Lead is to set up the deploying unit for success. This is accomplished by
assuring that the deploying unit has all that’s required to do the job of which they have been activated to
perform. On an average day I assist deploying units in the following:
Establishing a 90day unit suspense list to keep track of all documentation required by the unit.
Establish a point of contact with deploying unit in the premobilization stage
Review and evaluate the sourcing document used by the deploying unit with ECOP ( Equipment
Common Operating Picture0 unit’s Split Property Book, and last but not least the CES (Critical
Equipment Sourcing)
Track the status of all equipment and supplies due in for the unit regardless of what mode of
transportation or the shipper
Provide professional and technical assistance to the units throughout the mobilization process at the
mob site
Assure the unit that shortage or missing equipment will be obtained prior to deployment into theater
Update unit’s logistical status in DARTS (Deployment and Reconstitution Tracking Software).
Conduct briefings with unit’s Commander to update slides used in the Unit Readiness Update briefing
Coordinates logistical appointments for unit during mobilization process
Assist in validation process by establishing a validation package and briefing that will verify unit’s status
and readiness for deployment
