6. NEED FOR THE PROJECT
As per records there has been an increase in car accidents on the road connecting the university which is
a major cause of concern as it directly relates to the safety of students and faculty members
The current parking arrangement is not organized hence it takes up valuable real estate of college which
can be used to construct other facilities like hostel or sports complex Etc.
There has been a trend of students parking their vehicles on the sides of the road which causes traffic
congestion during peak hours also I may lead to damage to vehicles due to tight parking spots
The haphazard arrangement of parking causes a bad impression to people visiting the university for the
first time which can cause depreciation on the PDPU brand
7. OBJECTIVES
This project will free up a lot of space which is currently used as parking which will give the university the
valuable real estate for other developmental activities
Access to campus to outsiders can be controlled which will increase the security of the campus
It will prevent accidents due to haphazard parking on the PDPU road
It will prevent conflicts between the peers for the damage of property
8. SCOPE OF WORK
Firstly a survey through a internet link must be circulated among the students which will gives us the
idea of no of vehicle and which type like car or motorcycle it will determine the capacity of parking
Then our team will coordinate with PDPU officials in determining the appropriate location of the facility
which will be easily accessible from all the Blocks also based on the capacity we will determine if multi
level parking is needed or single level will be sufficient thus will give us the amount of land which the
university will have to allocate
If things work out we will coordinate a meeting with the architect, structural consultant and contractor
with the university officials
Further site investigation and other allied analysis will be done
9. HOW WILL ACCESS TO PARKING BE CONTROLLED
Based on the budget we will provide access control sysems like RF iD based scanning which will ensure
no unauthorized vehicle is parked in the facilty also it will also allow us to know if a vehicle is has been
left unattended for a long time and if any visitor is visiting the campus he/she will have to pay a parking
fee

12. SCOPE OF PROJECT IN FUTURE
As the university is growing at very fast pace adding new courses and facilities hence the current
capacity will have to modified as per the growth of the university hence the project will have provisions
of expansions by constructing addiditional floors which can be done if easily as will have used
mathematical modelling in designing the structural elements of the building which will be strong
enough to support addition of 2 new floors which can double the capacity of parking .
