education, childcare, social care, as well as learning and skills and the subjects to the National

Policies And Procedures In Schools
It is essential that all schools have policy and procedure framework to follow. They explain what
your organisation does and how you do it. Policies and procedure define rules, resolve conflict and
clarify principles. They are guidelines and standards for all those associated with the organisation to
follow. They support effective decision making on what can and cannot be done. A clear framework
avoids misunderstanding
Policies and procedures should always be clear and concise so they are easy to understand and
follow. They should emphasise the spirit of the rule: clearly identify the purpose and the scope. They
should not over link or contradict each other.
Policies and procedures are created with Acts and legislations in mind. They can be ... Show more

They observe children and monitor their progress, they would also work closely with parents or
carers to ensure a child is developing and progressing effectively.
Youth workers plan, organise and oversee community projects. A youth worker will work with

test. They do home visits for families in need. Advice and support is given about health education
and with public health agendas, e.g. healthy eating. Immunisation clinics are also completed by the
school nurse. They are also a main point of contact for any safeguarding issues that may have arisen.

Communication and Professional Relationships with...
Communication and Professional Relationships: One of the most important roles of teachers is
helping children to develop positive relationships with others. For children, this process involves
learning cognitive skills while at school and learning how to work and play in collaboration with
others. In order for teachers to pass skills on communication and professional relationships with
children, young people, and adults; they should be good role models. This involves demonstrating
an understanding of the boundaries of information that can be communicated and the significance of
adhering to school policies around confidentiality. Therefore, communication and professional
relationships with children, young people, and adults require an understanding of certain principles,
how to communicate, and policies for confidentiality and information sharing.
Principles of Developing Positive Relationships: The process of developing positive relationships
requires effective communication, where an individual expresses and models proper communication
skills. Effective communication only occurs when there are positive relationships as parents and
other adults are likely to provide beneficial support in school when there is strong and effective
communication. The communication and language development of children and young people is
expressed in various ways. This includes response to smiles and sound, recognition of familiar
voices, and awareness of other sounds ("Child and Young

Instructional Leadership
Effective school leadership today must combine the traditional school leadership duties such as
teacher evaluation, budgeting, scheduling, and facilities maintenance with a deep involvement with
specific aspects of teaching and learning. Effective instructional leaders are intensely involved in
curricular and instructional issues that directly affect student achievement (Cotton, 2003). The writer
of this paper acknowledges that school principals should play the role of instructional leaders, not
just a school manager. The reality is that are many demands on a principals time and management
skills making it difficult for most of them to spend time in classrooms, when performing teacher
evaluation. Principals often make sure that teachers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Consequently, a leader needs to be passionate about their work but also needs to find a balance
between work and home. The role of the leader requires one to be active and think on their feet.
Reflecting on daily actions, keeping abreast with professional development, reading and engaging in
a stress relieving activity, such as exercise, are all activities that can help the leaders manage their
workload (Johnson, 2005). It is important to remember that the word leadership does not seem to
define the person but rather the person defines what the leader is.
The writer acquired the knowledge that Instructional leadership is a collaborative learning
environment where learning is not confined to the classroom and is the objective of all educators.
Instructional leadership is an important departure from the ancient model of administrator as
authoritarian. The writer feels that learning should be a top–down process. If those in charge of the
school are excited about learning, then they will share their enthusiasm throughout the community.
Those who learn to be instructional leaders acquire many characteristics that are beneficial to their
schools and communities. The writer concurs that Instructional leaders exhibit a clear sense of
direction for their schools and prioritize and focus attention on the things that really

Persuasive Essay On Bullying
To further understand how Connecticut schools implement the anti–bullying statute posed by the
state, I will present data from the town of Marlborough. The Marlborough School District is a single
PreK–6 school in a rural town serving nearly 545 students. According to the CT State Department of
Education (2017) website, Marlborough encountered six total bullying incidents in the past 4 years.
The state does not specify how many of those incidents, if any, were considered cyberbullying.
Marlborough has written a Safe School Climate Plan, as required by the state, with the purpose of
providing a learning environment free from bullying, cyberbullying, and teen dating violence to
provide a positive school climate. For the purpose of this analysis, I will focus on cyberbullying.
According to Marlborough's Safe School Climate Plan, the school has the right to intervene when
bullying takes place (1) "on campus or a school sponsored event" (p. 29), or (2) "off campus if the
incident poses a likelihood of substantial disruption to the educational process or the orderly day to
day operations of the school" (p. 29). Their definition of bullying mirrors that of the state statute
(Conn. Gen. Statute § 10–222d, 2011) and cyberbullying is further defined as, "any act of bullying
through the use of the Internet, interactive and digital technologies, cellular mobile telephone or
other mobile electronic devices or any electronic communications" (p. 2). The plan includes an

concept of children having special educational needs. This means each setting needs to have an

Leadership In Early Years Essay
There are many definitions of leadership. Chemers (1997) describes it as: "A process of social
influence in which one person can enlist the support of others in the accomplishment of a common
task or aim"
But there is an argument that leadership in education is even more and refers to the process of
enlisting and guiding the talents and energies of teachers, pupils, and parents towards achieving
common educational objectives. Leadership in early years settings has traditionally been associated
with the individual skills and personal qualities of the leader and nothing more. Recently, however,
leadership is being viewed as not only the isolated activity of a single person, but instead the
communal activities a variety of people who all contribute to a successful leadership outcome.
Working within early years settings is becoming more demanding year on year as demonstrated by
the MP for Education and Childcare (Elizabeth Truss) wanting to "build a stronger, more capable
workforce, with more rigorous training and qualifications, led by a growing group of Early Years
Teachers" (DoE, Jan 2013)It is increasingly important, therefore, that practitioners and leaders in
early years settings acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to meet these increasing demands.
The early Years foundation stage (EYFS) introduced in 2008, was the first time a framework
existed, setting out the expectations for care and provision for early years. The revised EYFS (2012)
continues to be

Understanding Child And Young Person Development Essay
Understanding Child and Young Person Development
The sequence and rate of each aspect of development.
I found this topic very interesting and have enjoyed gaining a deeper understanding of how and why
children develop the way they do; also the huge influences that differing factors can have on that
development. As adults we utilise many skills in order to complete any given task, the same applies
to children and because of this overlap of skills , child development is regarded as a holistic event,
where no part of development takes place in isolation from the others.
The sequence of development is the expected order or pattern that the child's development stages
will take as they grow older whereas the rate of development means how ... Show more content on

The Legislation Regarding Safeguarding And Chid Protection
The legislation regarding safeguarding and chid protection ensures that all the children are safe,
secure and protected from any kind of potential harm which may affect their health or development.
Children in learning settings may come across various types of experiences like bullying, cyber–
bullying, discrimination, etc. These types of experiences where perpetrator could also be a child or a
group of children can disturb the process of learning. It also has long term effects on the child being
bullied and the child/ group of children who are bullying.
'Department for education advice preventing and tackling bullying (2013) ', advices that all the
educational settings must prevent and respond to bullying.
The Education and Inspection Act 2006 states that school must have measures in place to prevent all
forms of bullying and all these measures should be communicated to staff, children and parents.
Independent School Standard Regulations 2010 states that effective anti–bullying strategies must be
drawn up and implemented by the Academy and Independent schools.
The Equality Act 2010 which replaces previous anti–discrimination laws with single act makes it
unlawful to discriminate, harass or victimise any pupil in relation to admission, ways to provide
education, exclusion of any pupil from benefit, facility or service or any other harm.
Safeguarding children and young people: The Children Act 1989 states that bullying incidents

How Public Relations Programs Work
Everyone has a job to do and should be accounted for their position and what it details.
Superintendents, Managers, Supervisors, and Principals have to learn how to delegate every
employee their job responsibilities. Administering what is need to be done in the school and what
teams are appointed to be in charge. Administrators have to be reminded that the taxpayers are the
one that help keep the school running. Parents are the first people to speak up about how the school
should run. Communication is the key to how public relations programs work well with different
schools, school staff, the community, and stakeholders. Communication is a tool that helps to deliver
information to certain places, people, devices, and one another. The Board of Education must
understand that everyone has a place in the schools. Administration will keep an open door policy to
discuss different situations that is going on in the school to make sure the school runs well. Every
school board needs to adhere to the public opinions and the community. Each school should have a
policy with procedures in place to fit the school program. The administrative team can consist of
many different positions such as Dean of school, Assistant Principal, Behavior specialists and Staff
Associate. Each school administrative team is totally different from other schools. But each school
has an administrative team. Every administrator position can consist of delegated responsibilities

Individuals who identify themselves as lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender experience obstacles

such as homophobia and stigmatization from others result decrease access to care and unwillingness
to disclose their sexual or gender identity. Khalili, Leung, and Diamant (2015) stated in 2007,
physicians' survey results indicated that they were often and sometimes uncomfortable in providing
services to LGBT patients. The presence of discrimination behavior means that there is a lack of
LGBT–competency within the healthcare system. To decrease discrimination within the healthcare
system, it is important for physicians to be competent in order to provide high quality care for
LGBT individuals. LGBT–competency training will increase awareness, healthcare knowledge, and

I never thought that some physicians were uncomfortable in providing healthcare services to LGBT
individuals. I do think that cultural competency training is essential for all professions because
professionals are likely to provide services for people who come from different cultures and ethnic
groups. Since most LGBT individuals encountered negative situations regarding their sexual
identity, they are more likely to avoid healthcare. The sample size included 138 allopathic medical

How School Can Communicate Its Ethos, Mission, And Values...
There are many ways that a school can communicate its ethos, mission, aims and values, to pupils,
staff and parents. A school prospectus or handbook should communicate clear understandable
information, taking into consideration the surrounding ethnic community and maybe translating it
into different languages.
As some of the values and the sentiments of the school might be hard to describe school open days
would give a chance for the school to demonstrate all its ethos, mission, aims and values directly to
the parents and future pupils.
The school web site is the most obvious place to communicate any kind of information regarding the
school and its ethos etc. Nowadays the first place that people look for information is the internet as
it is accessible from all over the world and all schools have a personal website. Again, this form of
communication needs to be integrated with a visit to the school to be able to live the real
atmosphere.
School assemblies are a good way to constantly remind pupils and staff of what the school and its
values represent.

A Future Chief Executive Officer
Thought experiment #2 Carley Hansbrough
As a future Chief Executive Officer there are several things I would want to strategize after viewing
the video concerning the financial economy. There is massive change that is going to hit our
economy. We have to prepare and create solutions to defeat disaster that is head towards us. The
Accelerated Crash Course presented by Chris Martenson, reviews three things in vast detail
concerning our natural inhabitants and our economic standing. These three things are: Economy,
energy, and environment. These three E's show how our world will soon be in a downturn. With our
global economy and many others suffering from major debt we are not able to achieve a logical way
to dissolve our own debt.
There are four parts that he discussed which make up the economy and that has brought us to the
changes that have occurred. Exponential profit growth in our economy has lost it value because of
the way many view the dollar bill today. There are many that see it as being readily available and in
our current state it is not. Exponential growth can be described as things that grow over time such as
stocks and bonds. Money can be described as an entitlement to something however, not wealth. The
perceived value of money will either have inflation or deflation. The amount of money that is being
created is causing the value of it to decrease. We must bring more value back to our money system
and this will cause growth throughout our economy. The

Explain Why There Is Important To Understand School...
Every school will have policy and procedures in which they have to follow. These are made to
ensure that people within the school are aware and understand what is going on and what future
things the school will do. This will include the students, parents, teachers or governors. When being
in a school many situations will happen by having policies and procedures it allows people to know
what to do or who to contact. They create stability within a school by setting limits and rules. When
it comes to policy and procedures the majority of them are statutory by following the law but also
added their own person policies and procedures. The statutory ones includes things such as school
behaviour, teachers pay, capability of staff. Whereas non statutory things which are created by the
schools can include things such as how they expect their homework. In other aspects policy and
procedures can be created so people can decide if this is the school for you as a teacher, student or a
parent of a child. To allow people to understand each schools policies and procedures they are short

governors for it to be agreed. Once it had it will need to be shared with people such are parent and

Entitlement And Provision For Early Years Education
Unit 4.
Assessment Criteria 4.1.1.
Summarise entitlement and provision for early years education.
There are many different entitlements and provisions established for early years education.
Nursery schools, pre schools, and playgroups all provide learning and play activities, family
support, early intervention and childcare for all children under the age of five years old.
Nursery schools are predominantly attached to a Surestart centre, which work with children and
parents providing education for both, full day care provision, parenting advice, and health and
family support, or to a primary school. Where as pre schools and playgroups are normally privately
owned and operated, offering childcare, play and education activities.
Since 2004 all children in the UK aged 3 and 4 years old have been entitled to free places at
nurseries and pre–school and even under the care of a childminder for up to 12.5 hours per week,
this provision was increased to 15 hours per week from 2010.Day nurseries also offer the same
provisions for early years education, but are usually run within a business, or by a voluntary group.
Free entitlement and provision provides universal access for all to early years education, play
activities, and childcare, which are all extremely beneficial to children and their short and long term
educational, social, and behavioural development.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is probably the area that Andrew

¬ Equal Pay Act – prohibits payment of different wages to men and women if they perform

Investigation of and Ec Issue Essay
Assignment 2: Investigation of and early childhood issue
Introduction
Transition and school readiness are complex issues which have a major impact on children's holistic
development. How well this process is facilitated and how practitioners view children's school
readiness will shape and influence their future learning. Early experiences during the transition
period from early childhood settings to more structured and formal learning environments have
implications for children's life trajectories and their ability to become adjusted citizens as
individuals and well–functioning members of society. Early childhood practitioners play a critical
role in establishing strong foundations for the successful transition between environments. ... Show

Dockett, Mason & Perry (2006) highlight that effective transitions are not coincidental but
require collaboration and planning, as well as thoughtful consideration which includes the process of
critical reflection. This builds and strengthens quality relationships to empower the children's
families and communities to participate and be involved at school. Leading on from this, the authors
also emphasise the significance of having the richness of Indigenous culture embedded and visible
in school programs and environments. For example, recognising and acknowledging the importance
of seeking Indigenous elders to clearly define protocols and procedures, displaying relevant and
meaningful aboriginal art work and cultural items.
Finding your place, our standing in community, is important to everybody. We need to know who
we are and we need to find our place in our community, so we are not lost souls. If kids have an
established identity, they are more successful when they make the transition. A strong identity gets
lived in an aboriginal school (Parents response, cited in Dockett, Mason, Perry, 2006, p. 141).

context of indigenous families and their efforts to support

Consequently, a leader needs to be passionate about their work but also needs to find a balance between work and home. The role of the leader requires one to be active and think on their feet. Reflecting on daily actions, keeping abreast with professional development, reading and engaging in a stress relieving activity, such as exercise, are all activities that can help the leaders manage their workload (Johnson, 2005). It is important to remember that the word leadership does not seem to define the person but rather the person defines what the leader is. The writer acquired the knowledge that Instructional leadership is a collaborative learning environment where learning is not confined to the classroom and is the objective of all educators. Instructional leadership is an important departure from the ancient model of administrator as authoritarian. The writer feels that learning should be a top–down process. If those in charge of the school are excited about learning, then they will share their enthusiasm throughout the community. • 12. Persuasive Essay On Bullying To further understand how Connecticut schools implement the anti–bullying statute posed by the state, I will present data from the town of Marlborough. The Marlborough School District is a single PreK–6 school in a rural town serving nearly 545 students. According to the CT State Department of Education (2017) website, Marlborough encountered six total bullying incidents in the past 4 years. The state does not specify how many of those incidents, if any, were considered cyberbullying. Marlborough has written a Safe School Climate Plan, as required by the state, with the purpose of providing a learning environment free from bullying, cyberbullying, and teen dating violence to provide a positive school climate. For the purpose of this analysis, I will focus on cyberbullying. According to Marlborough's Safe School Climate Plan, the school has the right to intervene when bullying takes place (1) "on campus or a school sponsored event" (p. 29), or (2) "off campus if the incident poses a likelihood of substantial disruption to the educational process or the orderly day to day operations of the school" (p. 29). Their definition of bullying mirrors that of the state statute (Conn. Gen. Statute § 10–222d, 2011) and cyberbullying is further defined as, "any act of bullying through the use of the Internet, interactive and digital technologies, cellular mobile telephone or other mobile electronic devices or any electronic communications" (p. 2). • 24. Leadership In Early Years Essay There are many definitions of leadership. Chemers (1997) describes it as: "A process of social influence in which one person can enlist the support of others in the accomplishment of a common task or aim" But there is an argument that leadership in education is even more and refers to the process of enlisting and guiding the talents and energies of teachers, pupils, and parents towards achieving common educational objectives. Leadership in early years settings has traditionally been associated with the individual skills and personal qualities of the leader and nothing more. Recently, however, leadership is being viewed as not only the isolated activity of a single person, but instead the communal activities a variety of people who all contribute to a successful leadership outcome. Working within early years settings is becoming more demanding year on year as demonstrated by the MP for Education and Childcare (Elizabeth Truss) wanting to "build a stronger, more capable workforce, with more rigorous training and qualifications, led by a growing group of Early Years Teachers" (DoE, Jan 2013)It is increasingly important, therefore, that practitioners and leaders in early years settings acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to meet these increasing demands. • 32. A Future Chief Executive Officer Thought experiment #2 Carley Hansbrough As a future Chief Executive Officer there are several things I would want to strategize after viewing the video concerning the financial economy. There is massive change that is going to hit our economy. We have to prepare and create solutions to defeat disaster that is head towards us. The Accelerated Crash Course presented by Chris Martenson, reviews three things in vast detail concerning our natural inhabitants and our economic standing. These three things are: Economy, energy, and environment. These three E's show how our world will soon be in a downturn. With our global economy and many others suffering from major debt we are not able to achieve a logical way to dissolve our own debt. There are four parts that he discussed which make up the economy and that has brought us to the changes that have occurred. Exponential profit growth in our economy has lost it value because of the way many view the dollar bill today. There are many that see it as being readily available and in our current state it is not. Exponential growth can be described as things that grow over time such as stocks and bonds. Money can be described as an entitlement to something however, not wealth. The perceived value of money will either have inflation or deflation. The amount of money that is being created is causing the value of it to decrease. We must bring more value back to our money system and this will cause growth throughout our economy. The ...
