  2. 2. What is an internship?  A paid or unpaid job opportunity that offers you experience in your business field of interest.  Purpose of an internship is to provide you with a learning experience while you are in college to help you make more informed decisions about your future career.
  3. 3. Internship Facts:  For credit OR not for credit  Paid OR unpaid  You represent yourself AND URI AND the College of Business.  Internships are Professional opportunities.

  6. 6. Create your Own Opportunity  Decide where you want to intern geographically  Make a list of relevant companies (Book of Lists great resource)  Always try to use personal contacts!  Contact companies directly – Small/mid-sized call directly – Large co. look on website
