Lines of Research
• General analysis of the sociological and
ethical treatment of human characteristic
of vulnerability. Determine the level of social
acceptance and rejection of the most vul-
nerable and disabled and raise the conse-
quences in biomedical practice.
1. Human vulnerability in aesthetics socie-
ty.
2. The ethical and legal protection of the
human dignity of vulnerable people
throughout their life development.
3. The threat of biotechnologies about hu-
man nature and dignity: enhacement.

• Our university has an extensive library as
well as online access to many internatio-
nal scientific journals that constitute our
main source of information to investigate
in the area of bioethics

EXPERIENCE
• We have been working in this area of re-
search within bioethics for ten years. Our
research group has published numerous ar-
ticles in national and international journals,
and also monographs. We have organized
several national meetings on current bioe-
thical issues. On the other hand, we are a
multidisciplinary group formed by professors
and researchers from different disciplines
which allows us to address bioethical issues
from a global perspective. We combine our
teaching functions with attendance to natio-
nal and international congresses and stays
in Spain and abroad.

and for the shared direction of doctoral theses.

bioethicist, two philosophers, two
biologists, three nurses and a lawyer

protection of people who are discri-
minated against due to their physical,
aesthetics, and intellectual characte-
ristics.
• Participation in research stays with
groups from other countries that are
working on the protection of human
vulnerability.
• Organizing conferences, symposia,
seminars on bioethics.
