Title Design and Experimental Investigation on Composite Automotive Drive shaft

Overview of Project
The Objective of this project is to Design & analyze a composite drive shaft for
power transmission application. Composite drive shaft offers the potential of
lighter and longer life drive train with higher critical speed .using this replacement
of conventional two-piece steel drive shaft with single-piece carbon/epoxy.
Finite element analysis is analysis technique for calculating the strength and
behaviour of structures. . FEA is used to calculate the deflection, stresses,
buckling behaviour of the shaft.
From experimental results, it was found that the developed one-piece automotive
composite drive shaft had high mass reduction, increase in torque capability
compared with a conventional two-piece steel drive shaft.
