As Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, it gives me immense pleasure to
recommend Mr. Harinarayan Vishwakarma , a student from Universif Institute of Technology,
Rajiv Gandhi Technological University ,Bhopa(ln{P) India. He is known to me since August
2}ll, as an undergraduate student of this department. I assert the following in support of his
candidature.
From my personal observations and from the raving feedbacks; he proved himself to be a student
bestowed with innovative thinking, managerial aptitude and a pragmatic personality. He has been
an excellent scorer in theoretical and practical examinations, highlighting his in depth knowledge
of the subjects. I attribute this to his highly active demeanor in classes and practical sessions,
where he is always quick to respond and raises intriguing questions. He does not rest until he
obtains a clear understanding of the topics taught. I highly appreciate his time management
strategies; he strictly adheres to the stipulated time frame to submit his assignments and projects,
without any compromise in its quality.
Furthermore, I supervised and appreciated his creativity in his project work connected to 800cc
motor bike, using a local Maruti Omni Van's Engine. His rvork on this project highlights his strong
research capabilities and sound subject knowledge. Besides that, with an objective to further
enhance his research potential, he was also engaged in authoring and presenting research papers.
Looking after his work, I am confident he would be an asset as a research assistant in his graduate
studies.
Academic pursuits apart, he participated in the automobile event organized by BAJA in
association with Society of Automobile Engineers (S.A.E) lndia. He was also involved in
organizing an event for the SPIC-MACAY (Sociefy lor the Promotion of Indian Classical Music
and Culture Amongst Youth); highlighting his impressive leadership qualities and organizational

This project was intended to create a vehicle which has power, efficiency and also the cost is
very low in comparison to the conventionat 800cc motorbikes. The conventional bikes have a
mileage of about.S-9 kilometers per liter of petol hence this project provides better mileage
statistics.
The core idea behind the project is to create a vehicle which proves out to be better in various
atfibutes like power, mileage and efficiency. The bike uses an engine of a local maruti omni van
(a four-wheeler vehicle). Firstly, a 3-D modeling was done using Computer Aided Three
Dimensional Interactive Application (CATIA) software. The gear fansmissions were converted
as the gears are to be shift with hands in a four wheeler to the leg shifting as in conventional
bikes by using the transmission box of a local bullet motorbike. The chassis and the body were
designed according to the engine manifold using an old body of a Rajdoot bike (a local
motorbike brand). Various accessories including seats, indicators were procured and assembled
by a local mechanic. This vehicle provides the users with a bike with the same pow€r and costing
about one-fourth of the price from the market. This bike provides a better alternative to the
people who wants to have a powerful bike but also cares for its mileage statistics.
Furthermore, the project took around four months for completion starting in August 2012 trll
Novqmber 2012. The overall cost of the project was around 100,000 INR.
