theelectrical industry is 4.3% of total exportations with a value of US $ 4.4 billion in 2009 .
Thegoodsandservicesmadewithintheelectricalmachinerysectorrangefromcapitalgoodsused in
energyandchieftransformationactivities, transport manufacturing (motor vehicles,
aeronauticsandrailequipmentproducers) orprocessmanufacturingsectors (agro-industries,
chemicals, plasticsorwood), throughintermediategoods (such as electroniccomponentsorwiring)
thatare usedbyothermanufacturers, toconsumergoods (such as consumerelectronics, mobile
phonesandhouseholdappliances).

countriesespeciallyIraq, SaudiArabia, Libya, the UAE, Turkmenistan, Italy, the UK, Germany
andFrance.In 2009 Iraqwastheprimary customer of Turkishelectricalmachinery.
Theimportantexportationproductscomprise of
electrictransformers,domesticelectricalappliances,wiresandcables,electricboardsandpanels.Thepo
rtion of wiresandcables in theexports of machinery is 32%.The otherimportantexportationproduct:
electrictransformersaccountfor 17% of the total exports of thesector.Majorexportmarkets
fortransformersare:SaudiArabia,Iraq,Turkmenistan,Bahrain,Germany,theNetherlands,Qatar,Algeri
aand the United Kingdom.
