Smart Account
• The Partner/Reseller will deposit an order into a customer account when
account is identified
• Customer will need to accept the products from the partner
• *Licenses can’t be consumed in Holding Smart Accounts*

• Account Approvers – Owner of account and enters/approves agreements with
Cisco
• Account Administrators – manages users access and privileges
• Approvers/Administrator of account can view and make changes to licenses,
review logs, track purchases, etc.

Use Cisco Software Workspace (CSW) to create and manage the Smart Accounts which will have Smart-
enabled products assigned to them in Cisco Commerce Workspace (CCW) when placing the order.
1. Select “Create a New Smart Account”
2. Indicate if you are creating the account for yourself or someone else
3. Validate Account Information and Receive Welcome Email
4. Complete Smart Account Setup by selecting correct addresses and adding other users.

Smart vs. Virtual
The Smart Account is a single and
systematic representation of a customer in
Cisco's internal system. The Smart Account
name displays here
Virtual Accounts are pools of licenses and
product instances. All new licenses are placed
in a default Virtual Account. You can then
transfer the licenses from that account to a
different account.

Add Smart Account to Your Order
Assign Customer Smart Account at header or line level. New Accounts can also be initiated for creation
using the Request New Customer Account link.
From Header, select Customer Smart account, search/request account, select cascade option, and
click Assign.
From Line, search or request new customer account and click Assign.
