Job Description:
The co-op will work in the Video Premise Equipment Group in the Office of the CTO (OCTO) at
Comcast headquarters and will be involved in the development, evaluation, and deployment of
cutting edge video device technology in the cable industry.
Specific duties will include:
- Performing development, acceptance testing, QA, and evaluation of new Comcast devices and
services.
- Working with vendors on technical issues and developing potential fixes to problems.
- Setup and maintenance of demo systems.
- Demoing Comcast technology.
- Supporting and maintaining lab space.
- Assisting engineers in developing new ideas and evaluating new consumer electronics
technology.
Required skills/experience:
- Working towards a degree in a technology-related field.
- Must be able to work well in a team environment.
- Must have excellent communication skills. This includes communicating ideas and concepts to
other engineers as well as presenting or demoing to a group.
- Knowledge of basic IP networking and Unix/Linux command line operation is a plus.
- Knowledge of DOCSIS and MPEG is a plus.
