2. LOCATION
• For our location we will use the “castle”, found on the Reigate college premises.
• The reason for using this location is that the area has the ability to create a number
of different types of scenes. We would be able to use the rooms and also we could also
use the outside gardens.
• We are able to adjust the lighting within the rooms to a level that is suitable for the
thriller genre that we are trying to create.
3. COSTUMES
• The clothing the we brought in for our opening sequence was limited. Our aim was
to make the characters look as normal as possible so we set the task of wearing
clothes that would suit our character.
• For me (Tom), I wore black shoes, blue jeans with a grey shirt to give the impression
to the audience that my character was a normal as possible. My character was
meant to represent the normality of everyday people.
• For Chris however, he was instructed to wear clothes that may be typically worn by
villains. For example he wore black and brown as his predominate colours to present
his mysterious character.
4. PROPS
• One prop that was brought in was the knife that was used by Chris before the chase
within our sequence.
• Another was a pair of black shoes, worn by Tom’s daughter that he had lost.
The number of props were limited as we emphasised more on the camera work and
position rather the relationships between the characters as we felt that supplying the
correct shots would indefinitely create an atmosphere between the characters.
5. PRODUCTION SCHEDULE
• We began our construction of our opening sequence by doing research into thriller genres.
• We then move to casting roles for the opening sequence for the film.
• Once done we plan the name and then the production logo for of film.
• We then move to planning our scene by constructing a ruff script to guide us through our construction of the opening
sequence. We were able to add ideas to the script as we didn’t follow it directly.
• Later we created the rest of the plot to the film to allow the opening plot to make sense.
• We then went and film our opening sequence in a decided location which was “The castle”, in the Reigate college
grounds.
• We uploaded our chosen shots onto final cut pro and developed a ruff copy to be critiqued by our class mates.
• We then took this feedback and developed a final edit using the software tools provided.
• Finally we uploaded our video to YouTube.
