2. ENTRY NUMBER 1
• Today we were tasked with getting into groups, in which we would create our
opening sequence for our film. After doing so we were to create a short 30 second
clip for our preliminary task. This meant creating a storyboard and a simple
storyline. The preliminary task needed to have Match-On-Action and over-the-
shoulder shots. Our storyline consisted of a two people meeting up having a
conversation.
3. ENTRY NUMBER 2
• Our first task we set ourselves was to come up with different genre idea for our films
each of us came up with one idea to bring us to 3 ideas. We then found a movie
relating to that genre which would give us inspiration if we chose to do that genre.
In the end we chose to do a horror film as we felt it would be easier for us given the
resources we had available to us. We started to gather ideas about the kind of plot
we have in our movie. Our idea was to have it set in a forest with a group of kids
investigating a myth they had been told lived with in the forest.
4. ENTRY NUMBER 3
• Today, we were tasked with making a initial storyboard which would consist of each
individual shot we would take for our film. This is also meant going further in depth
with our plot. We had decided for a voice over of the boys being told the myth
while on screen was displaying the three boys walking into the woods. At the end of
the scene we had decided for one of the boys to be kidnapped by the monster. The
screen would then flash black after one boy found the kidnapped boy lying on the
floor dead.
5. ENTRY NUMBER 4
• In this period we wanted to get the casting, props and clothing sorted out. We had
decided for Max to be the clown because we felt his physique would be best suited
for a murderous monster. We picked George and Oliver to play the part of the two
teenagers as they volunteered to do it and they are both better actors than I am.
Therefore I was left with the responsibility of doing the voiceover. We then created a
synopsis for our film, a synopsis is like a blurb on the back of the book, it just gives
an overview of the plot.
6. ENTRY NUMBER 5
• In this lesson we selected 5 still shots from different movies which we could use in
our own film. We looked out for effective shots and effective villain appearances. We
then created a story mountain which clearly showed how the film would go. So we
had to come up with an opening; how it would build up; identify how the problem
would arrive; come up with a resolution and an ending. We then created a
storyboard for our opening sequence online on

7. ENTRY NUMBER 6
• This lesson we tasked ourselves with finding royalty free music we could use in our
film. I found six sites with the royalty free music we could use and further found 6
royalty free horror songs we could use from YouTube. The type of songs we were
aiming to look for was songs that would give the audience a creepy feeling and
would make the audience feel uneasy while watching the film. We then worked on
who our target audience would be in which we would have to relate back to
audience pleasures.
8. ENTRY NUMBER 7
• We decided this lesson our setting, props and clothing for our film. For our setting
we had decided to set it in a forest due to its mystical feeling and it also gives a
sense of stepping into the unknown. For props we decided to use baseball as a
weapon as the spirit is a past student at the school the boys attend and we felt a
baseball bat would best fit a past student at the school. For clothing we decided or
the teenagers to be in their own clothes to show how they are rebellious in not
showing up for school when they are supposed to be.
9. ENTRY NUMBER 8
• This lesson we made changes to what we had done last lesson and changed the
location of the setting due to the lack of availability people in the group had after
school time film sessions. We decided to change the location to a outdoor location
as it was much easier access and didn’t require us to be out late. We also conducted
a questionnaire which would aid us in our film. From the questionnaire results we
were able to draw up a storyboard for our actual film.
10. ENTRY NUMBER 9
• Today we put a script together for the film. After this we were able to start filming.
We started by filming max putting on the clown mask. We then filmed the two
conversations between George and Oliver. After this we went to take the pictures
which would introduce the villain to the characters. I then edited together what we
had so far with the others looking out for the small errors, such as continuity errors,
out of focus shots.
11. ENTRY NUMBER 10
• We resumed filming the film and we decided to add a mirror scene which would we
felt would be effective. We had the two boys looking into the mirror and the clown
lurking behind them but when they turn around it’s no longer there. We then had to
come up with an effective ending and we felt an effective ending would be if
George was dragged away by the clown when Oliver was not around.
12. ENTRY NUMBER 11
• Today we had planned to move the whole project over to Final Cut Pro but we hit a
huge barrier. The mac we had been working on had been locked meaning no one
could get into effectively costing me more than our group due to most of my work
being saved on the mac however, I had a rough copy on my USB so we hadn’t been
completely lost. We moved the original piece over to Final Cut Pro and started
adding titles in to our film. We then decided to take screenshots of the different
shots we used in the film to use in the shot list. This would then allow us to see how
much of a variety of shots we were using in our film.
