prevent this a player on the opposing team bats the ball up and toward a
teammate before it touches the court surface that teammate may then volley it

BASEBALL
A sport played on a field by two teams
against each other. In baseball, a player
on one team throws a small round ball
at a player on the other team, who tries
to hit it with a bat, which is like a long,
round club. Then the player who hits the
ball has to run around the field. Players
score points by running around in a full
circle around three markers on the
ground called bases, and back to where
they started, which is called home plate.
They have to do this without getting
caught by the players on the other team.

Golf is a game enjoyed all over the world by
both players and fans. It's a sport that
requires concentration and precision, and it's
enjoyed by professional athletes and
amateurs, both of whom compete throughout
the year for titles and prizes. Many people
consider golf an easy game to learn, but not
everyone is actually good at golf. The basics of
golf include hitting a ball with a club, trying
hard to hit the ball directly into the hole on
the green.
To play golf a golfer needs a set of clubs, no
more than 14, of varying lengths and sizes, a
set of golf balls, and a golf bag. There are
more accessories available, but a beginner can
start with just clubs, balls, and a bag.
A team play game pits two people or a team
of two to three people against each other.
Similar to a stroke game, the strokes used
count as your score but it's tallied as a team
rather than individually.

6. TENNIS
original name lawn tennis, game in
which two opposing players (singles) or
pairs of players (doubles) use tautly
strung rackets to hit a ball of specified
size, weight, and bounce over a net on a
rectangular court. Points are awarded to
a player or team whenever the opponent
fails to correctly return the ball within
the prescribed dimensions of the court.
The sport of athletics is
defined by the many events
which make up its competition
programmes. All events within
the sport are forms of
running, walking, jumping or
throwing. These events are
divided into the sub-sports of
track and field, road running,
racewalking and cross country
running.

Boxing, sport, both amateur and
professional, involving attack and defense
with the fists. Boxers usually wear padded
gloves and generally observe the code set
forth in the marquess of Queensberry
rules. Matched in weight and ability, boxing
contestants try to land blows hard and
often with their fists, each attempting to
avoid the blows of the opponent. A boxer
wins a match either by outscoring the
opponent—points can be tallied in several
ways—or by rendering the opponent
incapable of continuing the match. Bouts
range from 3 to 12 rounds, each round
normally lasting three minutes.

American football is a unique
sport -- it is a game about
gaining territory as much as it
is about scoring points. When
two teams step onto a football
field, each is battling for every
inch it can take from the other.
Each team wants to defend the
field that is behind it and
invade the field in front of it.
Ultimately, they want to gain
enough ground to score a
touchdown or field goal.

9. Motocross racing is one of the
most exciting sports to watch.
Riders seem to perform death-
defying turns and leaps. The effort
used to control the bike is visible
and the rider can be seen shifting
his weight about to turn and
maneuver the bike for maximum
speed. The wheels often spin and
spray up mud when a rider tries
to control the traction of the bike.

extreme sport which takes a lot of
courage but also gives you an
adrenalin kick.

10. Surfing is the sport of riding waves in an
upright or prone position. Surfers catch
ocean, river, or man-made waves, and glide
across the surface of the water until the
wave breaks and loses its energy.
In the ocean, wave riders stand up on
surfboards and navigate the water -
nearly parallel to the beach - toward the
shore. There are four types of surfing
waves: spilling waves, plunging waves,
surging waves, and collapsing waves.
The ultimate goal of surfing is to ride and
progress on the unbroken part of the
wave using a surfboard. Nevertheless,
beginners can learn to surf in the
whitewater part of the wave

falls from a high place with a rubber
(“bungee”) cord attached both to his or her
feet and to the jump site, and, after a period
of headfirst free fall, is bounced partway back
