Ferrites are ceramic materials formed from metal oxides that can be magnetized and demagnetized, allowing them to store or transfer magnetic energy. There are two main types: soft ferrites, which are easily magnetized and demagnetized and used in electronics to filter, transform, absorb or concentrate signals; and hard ferrites containing barium, cobalt or strontium used in appliances like refrigerators. Soft ferrites dominate the global market. Demand is driven by growth in India and China, with other major markets being North America, Western Europe and Japan.
