Generic Female Sildenafil Citrate is a medication
used for the treatment of female sexual arousal
disorder (FSAD) and female sexual dysfunction
(FSD). Lovegra jelly and Lovegra tablets by
Ajanta Pharma Ltd., have been formulated
scientifically to provide satisfaction in terms of
sexual needs and lasting pleasure for women.

Lovegra Oral jelly and Lovegra tablets are manufactured
by Ajanta Pharma Limited, India in the strength of 100
mg.

Chemical Structure - Sildenafil Citrate

The active ingredient contained in
Generic Female Sildenafil medicines is
Sildenafil Citrate.
Each sachet of Lovegra oral jelly as well
as each tablet of Lovegra contains
Sildenafil Citrate equivalent to 100 mg of
Sildenafil.

Female Sexual Arousal Disorder (FSAD) is a common disorder
encountered in clinical practice, with self-reported arousal difficulties
reported in up to 26% of American women.
Data from clinical trials that have assessed Sildenafil Citrate for the
treatment of FSAD; the trials show that sildenafil citrate is
moderately effective.
Sildenafil citrate may also be effective in women with FSAD
secondary to multiple sclerosis, diabetes or antidepressant use.

Recommended Adult Dosage
The recommended dosage of Female Sildenafil Citrate is
taken orally once a day, with or without meals. Take one
sachet of Lovegra Oral jelly or one tablet of Lovegra 100 mg
as and when required, approximately half an hour to one
hour before sexual activity.
The maximum recommended dosing frequency is 100 mg
per day. In other words, you can take another dose only if 24
hours have passed since your last dose.

Contraindications

Lovegra (Female Sildenafil Citrate) is contraindicated in patients with a
known hypersensitivity to Sildenafil Citrate or any component of the jelly.
➔
Administration of Lovegra (Female Sildenafil Citrate) to patients who
are using nitric oxide donors such as organic nitrates or organic nitrites in
any form either regularly and/or intermittently is contraindicated as
Sildenafil Citrate was shown to potentiate the hypotensive effects of
nitrates.
➔
Do not use Lovegra (Female Sildenafil Citrate) in patients who are using a
GC stimulator, such as Riociguat. PDE5 inhibitors, including Sildenafil
Citrate, may potentiate the hypotensive effects of GC stimulators.

Storage Instructions
Lovegra (Generic Female Sildenafil Citrate) has
to be stored at controlled room temperature i.e.
from 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F) with
excursions permitted between 15° to 30°C (59°
to 86°F).
Keep this as well as all other medicines away
from children and pets.

Warnings
There is a potential for cardiac risk of sexual activity in patients with preexisting
cardiovascular disease. Therefore, treatments for Female Sexual Arousal Disorder
(FSAD), including Sildenafil (Lovegra jelly and tablets), should not be generally
used in women for whom sexual activity is inadvisable because of their underlying
cardiovascular status.
Physicians should advise patients to stop use of all phosphodiesterase type 5
(PDE5) inhibitors, including Sildenafil Citrate (Lovegra), and seek medical
attention in the event of a sudden loss of vision in one or both eyes.
Such an event may be a sign of non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy
(NAION), a rare condition and a cause of decreased vision including permanent
loss of vision, that has been reported rarely post-marketing in temporal
association with the use of all PDE5 inhibitors.

Warnings
Physicians should advise patients to stop taking PDE5 inhibitors, including
Sildenafil Citrate for females, and seek prompt medical attention in the event of
sudden decrease or loss of hearing. These events, which may be accompanied by
tinnitus and dizziness, have been reported in temporal association to the intake
of PDE5 inhibitors, including Female Sildenafil Oral jelly and tablets.
Caution is advised when PDE5 inhibitors are co-administered with alpha-
blockers. PDE5 inhibitors, including Sildenafil Citrate, and alpha-adrenergic
blocking agents are both vasodilators with blood pressure lowering effects.
When vasodilators are used in combination, an additive effect on blood pressure
may occur. In some patients, concomitant use of these two drug classes can
lower blood pressure significantly.

Warnings
Decreased blood pressure, syncope could occur at higher Sildenafil exposures.
Sildenafil Citrate has systemic vasodilatory properties and may further lower
blood pressure in patients taking anti-hypertensive medications.
In patients taking strong CYP inhibitors, such as Ritonavir, Sildenafil exposure
is increased. The concomitant administration of the protease inhibitor
Ritonavir substantially increases serum concentrations of Sildenafil (11-fold
increase in AUC).
If Sildenafil jelly or tablets are prescribed to patients taking Ritonavir, caution
should be used. Decrease in Lovegra dosage is recommended.

Effects On Ability To Drive And Use Machines
Lovegra (Generic Female Sildenafil Citrate Jelly and
tablets) may have a minor influence on the ability to drive
and use machines.
As dizziness and altered vision were reported in clinical
trials with Sildenafil, patients should be aware of how they
react to Sildenafil Citrate, before driving or operating
machinery.

Possible Side Effects
Most common side effects reported with an incidence
rate of greater than or equal to 2% of patients treated
with Sildenafil Citrate (Lovegra) and more frequent than
placebo in fixed-dose studies include Headache,
Flushing, Dyspepsia, Abnormal vision, Nasal congestion,
Back pain, Myalgia, Nausea, Dizziness, Rash

Lovegra Overdosage
In single dose volunteer studies of Sildenafil doses up to 800 mg,
adverse reactions were similar to those seen at lower doses, but the
incidence rates and severities were increased.
Doses of 200 mg did not result in increased efficacy but the incidence of
side effects (headache, flushing, dizziness, dyspepsia, nasal congestion,
altered vision) was increased.
In cases of overdose, standard supportive measures should be adopted
as required. Renal dialysis is not expected to accelerate clearance as
Sildenafil is highly bound to plasma proteins and not eliminated in the
urine.

Lovegra During Pregnancy
Sildenafil Citrate (Lovegra Oral Jelly and Tablets) has been classified by
the US FDA as Pregnancy Category B. No evidence of teratogenicity,
embryotoxicity or fetotoxicity was observed in rats and rabbits which
received up to 200 mg/kg/day during organogenesis.
There are no adequate and well-controlled studies of Sildenafil Citrate in
pregnant women. Limited published data from randomized controlled
trials, case-controlled trials, and case series do not report a clear association
with Sildenafil and major birth defects, miscarriage, or adverse maternal or
fetal outcomes when Sildenafil is used during pregnancy. Lovegra Jelly is
not indicated for use in newborns, children and pregnant or nursing
women.
