Our proposal
Taking into account that most of the class is eager to begin learning new
technology and the second most mentioned topic was Human Language
Technologies, we searched and found out the importance of these two, as similar
topics are mentioned in the books we found, an example is the chapter 2:
Computational linguistic of “Computer applications in second language
acquisition” which mentions the significance of making the learner familiarized
with the technology and maintaining a friendly communication between them.
For the purpose of language teaching, it is essential that we present dependable,
innovative material therefore the aids we apply for it must count with these assets.
Meaningful knowledge is gained by amusing experiences: in order to keep the
learner motivated the tools we use must be related, actual and relevant for the
user, in the book “Computer in education” it is pointed out that the use of
technology can make a learner much more motivated and enthusiastic about
learning, we conclude that the applying the appropriate computer tools can make
the difference in the learning-teaching experience.
The use of these technological resources provide the opportunity of experiencing
task that will develop each of the skills; listening, speaking, reading and writing,
so we propose that the tools that will be presented to us this semester fulfill the
needs of expanding these abilities for us as students and as future English
teachers and most of all for our future students.
