It uses –er and –er, more and more or less
and less. It implies constant change.
• I’m getting fatter and fatter
• I’m getting more and more patient as I get
older.
• She’s eating less and less

• She’s much older than me
We can’t use very with comparatives!!!!!!

We compare two things to say that they vary or change
together
The + comparative expression + subject + verb,
the + comparative expression + subject + verb.
The more you study, the more you learn.
The more people worry, the more unhappy they feel.
The older I get , the happier I am.
The more money you have , the less happy you are.
The less you study, the less you learn.

She’s by far the most sensible student
in class.
7. 5. Superlatives with two
members
Sometimes when a group has only two members
we use the + comparative instead of a superlative.
I’ll give you the bigger/biggest steak as I’m not
very hungry.
