Background
Mr. Lomas has done a research unit every year, but this
  year he would like to give the kids an opportunity to
  research and make a multimedia presentation to address
  the above TEKS. The students will conduct online
  research to gather information on an animal assigned to
  them. They will have a research packet with a skeleton
  outline that they will need to fill in the information as they
  gather it. The students will then transfer their information
  from their outline into a multimedia presentation. Mr.
  Lomas’s goal is to introduce the students to online
  research methods, gathering and analyzing the
  information, and presenting it to an audience using
  multimedia tools.
Available Technologies
Appropriate drivers, plug-ins, interfaces, web browsers and operating software for available hardware
   are already correctly installed on all classroom computers. A computer lab with Internet
   accessibility and networked printers are available. Also, 25 wireless notebook computers with
   Internet access are available for check out.

2 networked scanners and Switch with scanning capability
Interactive whiteboard, Document camera and Projection device
4 wireless microphones and 4 Webcams
2 digital video cameras, 2 digital cameras
26 graphing calculators
12 microphone headsets and 12 portable media players
Portable audience response system for 30 students
Software:
Video editing, Web page authoring, Concept mapping, Spreadsheet, Word processing, Optical
    character recognition, Graphics/photo editing, DVD/CD writing software, Digital storytelling
    software, Audio editing software, Web 2.0 technology, Screen reader software, Variety of
    collaborative online applications.
Task 1
Identify three technologies from the additional available technology list that
   would be appropriate for enhancing this lesson while addressing the diverse
   needs of all students. Explain why the technologies you identified are
   appropriate.


Grade: 4 points


Response identifies three available technologies, and the response includes an
  effective justification for their integration into the lesson.
Task 2
Describe how you would support and guide Mr. Lomas in planning the lesson
  then evaluating student performance. Explain how your support and
  guidance would assist Mr. Lomas in achieving the goals of the lesson for all
  24 students in the class.

  • 2. Background Mr. Lomas has done a research unit every year, but this year he would like to give the kids an opportunity to research and make a multimedia presentation to address the above TEKS. The students will conduct online research to gather information on an animal assigned to them. They will have a research packet with a skeleton outline that they will need to fill in the information as they gather it. The students will then transfer their information from their outline into a multimedia presentation. Mr. Lomas’s goal is to introduce the students to online research methods, gathering and analyzing the information, and presenting it to an audience using multimedia tools.
  • 3. Available Technologies Appropriate drivers, plug-ins, interfaces, web browsers and operating software for available hardware are already correctly installed on all classroom computers. A computer lab with Internet accessibility and networked printers are available. Also, 25 wireless notebook computers with Internet access are available for check out. Hardware: 2 networked scanners and Switch with scanning capability Interactive whiteboard, Document camera and Projection device 4 wireless microphones and 4 Webcams 2 digital video cameras, 2 digital cameras 26 graphing calculators 12 microphone headsets and 12 portable media players Portable audience response system for 30 students Software: Video editing, Web page authoring, Concept mapping, Spreadsheet, Word processing, Optical character recognition, Graphics/photo editing, DVD/CD writing software, Digital storytelling software, Audio editing software, Web 2.0 technology, Screen reader software, Variety of collaborative online applications.
