4. PARALLEL STRUCTURE
We know that Parallel Structure is easily seen with
coordinating conjunctions (For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So).
• She went to the store and to the park.
It is important to realize that Parallel Structure is also found
in sentences with correlative conjunctions (not only... But
also, neither/either... or, whether... or, as many as).
• Not only was she tired, but she was also sick.
• There are as many leaves as there are rocks.

Directions: Identify which of the following sentences are parallel
and which of the following sentences are not parallel.
1. The coach neither cared about the game nor trying his best to
win.
2. John went to the park, to the store, and then went home.
3. The president of the company expected that all employees
