2. The Rationale
• This learning map has been designed to provide on the spot learning
opportunities.
• Therefore it is important that you take up this offer and when the
opportunity arises access the learning materials through the QR Codes that
are placed throughout the department, using the mobile device.
4. The learning Map
• You will have a copy of the map which sets out the topic areas listed as stations.
• The first station is Getting Started which provides instructions on how to navigate
your way through the map.
• There are three other journeys available to chose from which are colour coded.

• Choose your route
• Click the QR Code to open the content
• Follow the instructions
• Complete the activity
• Once complete move to the next station
• Click the QR code ……and so on
6. The Learning Map
• The aim of this Learning Map is to provide you with on the spot learning
opportunities during your placement here in the Emergency Department.
• Each Journey aims to help you develop a greater understanding of child and
adolescence mental health and common disorders in the context of caring
for patients and their families in the Emergency Department.

• Since this introduction of on the spot mobile approach to learning is new to
this area we want to evaluate your experience.
• Please take time to Complete the Evaluation (Confidential)
• By completing the evaluation can help determine whether this method of
learning supports practice learning.
