Marxism Midterm Essay : State And Revolution
Marxism Midterm Essay: State and Revolution Sarah Elberling University of Denver State and Revolution The early 20th century socialist
revolutionary theorists Vladimir Lenin, Rosa Luxembourg and Leon Trotsky believed that the withering away of the state and the removal of the
capitalist mode of production was a necessary outcome if the individual was to ever realize their true nature as being free, equal and self–determining.
This, however, could only be achieved through the development of the proletariat's class consciousness and their defeat over the bourgeoisie. It is in
this manner where both socialist revolutionary theory and practice share a dialectical relationship. However untied in their revolutionary visions of this
international process, these theorists differ in what the role and functions of the revolutionary party should be in the historical development of the new
socialist state. For Lenin and Trotsky, they envisage the revolutionary vanguard party as being separate from the proletariat class. Their reasoning being
that the working class themselves would remain limited by their own trade's union consciousness and therefore, would need the assistance of the
Central Committee to lead them in the methods to achieve the socialist revolution. For Luxembourg, however, the vanguard party would need to be
rooted and systematically connected to the proletariat class itself in order for the revolution's spontaneity and organizational dialectic

Business Management Case Study: Beta Management Company
Beta Management Company Case Study Group Members: Group Number: Institutional Affiliation Summary of Facts As an Investment company
started in 1991, Beta Management Company has a specific goal of enhancing clients' returns while reducing their risk of doing business. The company
has always used a market timing strategy to achieve this objective. Beta Management Company was started with approximately $25 million that was
invested in Vanguard 500 which can be described as a no–load, low index company. Sarah Wolfe, the founder, and CEO of Beta Management, in
anticipation of the smooth flow of business, adjusted the prospective market exposure of the invested funds from 50% to 99%. The CEO expected that

However, the predictability of the market dynamics and trends was left at the sole discretion of the CEO. As such, based on her prediction, the
company invested in individual stock in 1991, investments that targeted two smaller companies, California REIT and Brown Group shows stock
prices at the time were $2.25 and $24 at the time. With only $200,000 stock purchase targeting either of the two, Ms. Wolfe would have increased the
Total Equity exposure of her company to up to $20 million. Although she was apprehensive, she took the risk and even promised her clients
reasonable profits. With the investment strategy and the actual risks being considered, several issues in investment are likely to occur for Beta
management Company. First, it is crucial to evaluate how profitable is each of the stocks being considered and given an option, which company
should Beta choose. Secondly, it is also imperative to assess how profitable it is to increase the portfolio equity exposure to 80%. To evaluate the
investment decisions, it is imperative to thus explore how the company manages its investments and the nature of its investment

SWOT Analysis: The Vanguard Group
The Vanguard Group, headquartered in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, was founded in 1975 by John C. Bogle and has grown to become one of the
largest investments companies in the world. As of June 30, 2016, the company has more than $3.5 trillion in global assets, with more than 20
million investors served by 14,000 employees, known as crew members. The core purpose of Vanguard is "To take a stand for all investors, to treat
them fairly, and to give them the best chance for investment success" (Fast facts about Vanguard). Vanguard is able to give its investors the best
chance for success by way of its distinctive capability of having low fees for its investors. Everything Vanguard does, has a goal of keeping its expense

Surveys are constantly being sent and completed by internal clients, such as when a crew member contacts the IT help desk for a technical
problem. Afterwards, the crew member will complete a survey and is able to give feedback to the IT help desk so that the IT department knows if
they are satisfying their internal client. This type of feedback has lead IT division to create local help desks that are now physically located in
various buildings where crew can bring their devices in person to get the support required. Surveys such as Crew's Views have led to expanded
employee benefits and more mobile equipment, such as laptops, that allow crew to have a better work–life balance and do things like have modified

Personal Narrative: The Plaid Prohibition
The Plaid Jungfrau thanked Chandler the Fair for the condolences that were said to her personally. "Well, I'm glad that there are people who care
about those they work alongside in the business arrangements that we Jackbooters do on a daily basis," she said to him. She went on to ask, "So
what are you guys doing after this?" "From what I was told, apparently, we heading down South, toward the state of Florida," Chandler replied. "I
don't know the details regarding our duties there, but from what I was told, we are supposed to be going there as part of a special assignment." "That
sounds pretty neat," muttered Heidi. "Just out of curiosity, which part of Florida you guys are going to be assigned to? I'm asking because, chances

More often than not, these crews usually have members who are Ryanites, compared to their four equivalents. The Vanguard is always considered
the first ones to be assigned to a case. They are the ones who open up who trade routes for the RGA, and are the true heroes of the RGA in the
events of Brotzmanskrieg. On the side, they are the ones who searched and harvested Anomalies from the ACPs (Anomaly Causing Phenomena) that
spawned them. Incidentally, for Action Andy's Nightingales, they were classified as such. For the Pioneers, their purpose was to win sympathy and
support in the areas that their equivalents went. Working alongside their Jackbooter and Willing Helper brethren, the Pioneers try to establish good
relations with the people the Vanguard comes across. Before a major case even occurs, more over than not, they ensure the safe passage for the others.
Heavies, unlike the other two, were the ones who had relatively little involvement on the Plaid Prohibition aspect of Brotzmanskrieg. Rather, they act
as the ones who work on the other aspect of Brotzmanskrieg, which entailed the evangelization efforts that the RGA was so famous for outside of the
Greater American Catholic School System. In addition to the other school systems, the Heavies were also widely used in the RGA's efforts on the
college and university level – an area that the Underground was largely weak on. And if they must, they

Three years later, it is still starting to connect the "client journey" where client interactions over the phone, web, and mail can be analyzed. As part of
the enterprise–wide analytics, there are efforts to centralize a data mart where analysts across the firm can access to understand the full client
experience. It is evident Vanguard aspires to be an analytical competitor in the investment world. It is challenging each business unit to conduct
predictive and prescriptive analytics. Analyzing client and employee behaviors on the top priorities. Business decisions that were once made by
gut–check now requires data as a source of proof. Vanguard has historically been a slow–and–steady business where decisions are made in consensus
and new strategies has a cycle time of months or years. It operated at extremely thin margin to make sure it can keep operational costs at a bare
minimum for its clients. That mindset officially changed when it opened its Innovation Center in center–city last year which will work closely with
academics and consultant firms to bring R&D ideas to the forefront. Vanguard has a track record of analyzing internal processes in the areas of

Since its inception, Vanguard has offered multi–channel services to all investors. This includes deferred compensation/benefit plans (401K, 403B, 457,

products like annuities and transactional funds. This is because these investments tend to be expensive for the client recurring commissions are paid
to the broker who sold the products. In addition, they are difficult for the client to understand the fees and payout. As part of its commitment to all
investors, which includes low income and finance illiterate individuals, Vanguard only offer products that it feels adds value to all types of

4. Literature Review
Price, one of four key elements of the market mix, is the most sensitive factors for improving market shares, revenues, profitability and consumers
shopping, influencing other marketing mix elements such as product, promotion and place (David, 2008; Laurus, 2008; Net MBA, 2009). Pricing
strategy decision–making should be matter of all factors of marketing mix rather than considering prices (Laurus, 2008).
In terms of theory, pricing strategies can be defined as businesses choosing one method to appeal to customers to purchase goods and achieve
marketing mix according to the assessment of consumer demand and cost analysis (BDS Forum, 2009). For a company, pricing strategies can be
made difficultly. If prices of goods are too higher, they may lose market share. If the price is two lower, the company cannot get bigger profit (Bized,
2006). Therefore, before developing a pricing strategy, the company has to consider much more factors. Such as pricing objectives which rely on
production cost, barriers to entry, rate of product diffusion and so on, pricing methods including cost–plus pricing, target return pricing, value–based
pricing and psychological pricing as well as other factors to make the best price for the firm and the consumer (Net MBA, 2009). Three points of
views of pricing strategies can be discussed in the following in this report. Firstly, pricing strategies should

Analysis
1. An individual investor may want to invest in an international growth fund because of trying to expand or growth in the foreign market. Another
reason would be to diversify and acquire more knowledge about the foreign economy.
2. Some risks that are common between domestic and international funds are: losing money and management risk. Any investment has some type of
risk. Losing money is the first risk that every investment has whether it is domestic or international. Management risk is the bad management decisions
that a company makes. Some unique risks that only international funding has are: economic risk, country/regional risk, and currency risk. Currency risk
is the chance that the value of a foreign investment, measured in U.S. dollars, will decrease because of unfavorable changes in the currency exchange
rates. Economic risk is the stability of a country's economic. Country/regional risk is political, financial troubles, and natural disasters that will affect

The Black Panther Party 's Legacy
The recollection of the Black Panther Party's legacy more than often remains to linger on in the collective memory as a group of armed leather– clad
radicals of the 1960's. Although this memory is true, the Black Panther Party in actuality had more substance than just their attire. They were a political
organization that reinforced human rights, they were leaders of self–defense against a police state that relentlessly brutalized black bodies, and
caretakers of poor black communities that were receiving little to no attention by the state. They were an organization in bloom looking to create
solidarity and heal within the black community by whatever means necessary. The Black Panther Party is believed to be a revolutionary force that has
helped shape movements of today. Within this analysis we would like to unearth the history of the Black Panther Party including its origins, their
struggles, ultimate demise, and contributions to movements of the contemporary world. We feel that it is important to rediscover this information
because most of the occurrences that had appeared in the 1960's against black bodies continues to this day. It is our duty to learn from our teachers,
like those members of the Black Panther Party, in order to educate ourselves on how to create a better future. It all started in the fall of 1966 in
Oakland California when two young intelligent black male students of Merritt Junior College questioned America's ethics. These two young

The study draws economic analogies for Heisenberg's Uncertainty principle and concentrates on the 17 largest Investment Banks and the 10 largest
Mutual Funds. It tries to quantify the uncertainty and lists the economic mass of every institution from among the two groups and the average
economic masses of each group as well. The study was restricted to publically listed Investment Banks and Mutual Funds and the model was not
applicable to privately held and boutique banks and also wasn't applicable to hedge funds and other private funds which did not report their Net Asset
Value Returns. According to the findings, the economic mass was highest for Goldman Sachs while Toronto Domino Bank shows the least economic
mass. When it comes to Mutual Funds, Pimco the world's largest mutual fund had the lowest economic mass; the exposure to the crisis could be the
reason behind this. The American Funds Growth Fund of America has the highest economic mass. This study has been able to show that the
Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle has implications for financial institutions. For future research, one could look into applying the model for privately
held Financial Institutions and those funds which do not report their returns like Hedge Funds.

How can Vanguard be expected to compete in face of other challenges such as institutional and regulatory hurdles as well as smaller populations
overseas?
Marketing segmentation was a competency that has worked for Vanguard in the past. However, customers may resent excessive categorization based on
perceived investing habits or income extrapolations by Vanguard. The customers may view 'Vanguard' as a Big Brother who pries into his or her
personal lifestyle by monitoring their investment trends and then tailoring an investment plan for them with those assumptions.
If you examine the potential target market sizing, the United States presents a wide array of opportunities with its varied ethnic groups. Companies
such as Metlife and Citibank have done well by tapping into those markets and creating an investment niche. Rather than market segmentation based on
investment
habits, age or income; it may be advantageous for Vanguard to pursue these markets after conducting market tests or investment studies.
Even if Vanguard decided to 'aggressively' target certain niche targets in its sales and marketing campaign, the potential dividends reaped from doing
so are far expected to outweigh the costs as it currently spends about 20 cents out of every $10,000 invested to drum up new business which is well
below industry norms. Certainly newspaper advertisements as those

In the early history, Tenet Healthcare originated from a company named American Medical International (AMI), which was purchased by National

New Players First Start At Two Years, And I Enjoy Playing It
Dear Mr. Takaaki Kidani, the CEO of Bushiroad,
I am Cong Nguyen, a Cardfight Vanguard player. You know, the card game that your company owns. I have played the game for two years, and I
enjoy playing it. I can spend the whole day talking about how I love the game, but in this letter I want to address some problems that Vanguard is
facing instead. Although you may have already heard of the problems that I will present, I hope you will spend time listening to my complaints.
New players first start by playing budget decks or simple decks because those decks don't require the players to do much thinking when playing
Vanguard. As the players progress, they will soon realize that the budget version lacks power as well as the ability to create some combos in
gameplays. In tournaments, budget decks normally have zero chance of winning against full power decks. A full power deck consists of many

Cool Rules : Anatomy Of Cool By Pountain And Robinson
In the book, "Cool Rules: Anatomy of Cool by Pountain and Robinson", the idea of cool is manifested in many different facets of our lives, however
it can only be seen through people's reactions. In other words, you can see Cool in the eyes of others. According to Pountain and Robinson, "Cool has
become a universal phenomena that has an important influence on all our institutions from the media to education to marketing and the economy as a
whole". The writers define Cool as not only an oppositional attitude that expresses defiance to authority, but also as a permanent state of private
rebellion. What makes Cool distinctive is its extreme variability as it is more affiliated with people rather than objects. Although Cool is meant to
reflect what is inside, mainly the internal change and the revolutionary inclination from within, still one can not fail its manifestations on the outside.
These are clearly demonstrated in the way the subcultures express their ideology through dressing and fashion. According to Pountain and Robinson,
"Fashion has always been the key signifier of Cool.. It is the court in which Cool displays itself." Throughout history there has been many prominent
examples of such groups and vanguard movements which had their own distinctive set of beliefs, tried to implement their ideas and plead society's
acceptance, while leaving an unforgettable impression on them. These are groups that used Cool as a mean to a glorified end while actually trying to

Charles Schwab Case
Charles Schwab, a Stanford MBA, founded Charles Schwab & Company in 1971 in California. The company quickly established itself as an
innovator. A defining moment came with the 1975 "May Day," when Schwab took advantage of the new opportunities deregulation offered. Schwab
would not provide advice on which securities to buy and when to sell as the full–service brokerage firms did. Instead, it gave self–directed investors
low–cost access to securities transactions. From the late 80s to the early 90s, before the commercial use of the Internet, Schwab used technology to
increase efficiency and quality and expand its services. Schwab's innovations harnessed technology to the solution of business problem. As Schwab's

the average commission charged by the top–10 online trading firms fell from $52.89 at the beginning of 1996 to $15.75 in 1999 В– a 70% reduction.
The attractive pricing has stimulated great growth. Economic theory points out that in building a network, firms often tend to establish the most
valuable connections first. In this respect, online firms initially focused on attracting the busiest traders. However, as new accounts start contributing
less trading activity than existing ones, online brokers may find expansion an increasingly costly task. It is easier to attract a small number of large
customers than a large number of small customers. Furthermore, the explosive growth of online trading has attracted many entrants to the industry,
leading to intense competition. In addition to discounters and pure electronic firms, traditional full–service brokers like Merrill Lynch and USB Paine
Webber offer online services. The proliferation of online firms may thus lead to even deeper price discounts and tighter profit margins. The speed at
which the Internet transformed the brokerage industry surprised everyone. Since 1997, the number of trades executed on the Internet had grown at a
compound annual rate of over 111%, accounting for about a sixth of the market by 1999 (Exhibit 1). The share of US retail commission revenues
garnered from online trading increased from 2.2% in 1996 to almost 10% by 1999, even though online trading commissions were far less than

The funds asset allocation will become more conservative over time, meaning that the percentage of assets allocated to stocks will decrease while the
percentage of assets allocated to bonds and other fixed income investments will increase. This investment is superb for long–term investors like myself.
The fund inception occurred on October 27, 2003, and has been managed by Michael Buek since 2014. The fund inception date tells us that the mutual
fund has been around for 23 years and the fund manager for one year. This fund has been up for ten years and down for one year which tells us that
the new manager may have not been the correct choice.
International Fund Developed Markets Index Admiral Share (ticker VTMGX) is a Vanguard International Fund with a 3 star Morningstar rating and
a $3,000 minimum balance. This fund does not have a front or rear load fee. The total annual fund operating expenses are 0.06% which means that

BETA MANAGEMENT COMPANY
Q1. Calculate the variability (standard deviation) of the stock returns of California REIT and Brown Group during the past 2 years. How variable are
they compared with Vanguard Index 500 Trust? Which stock appears to be riskiest? The stock returns for each month are given in Table 1. Based on
the monthly returns, the standard deviation or variability of each stock has been calculated. The standard deviation for California REIT is 9.23% and
the standard deviation for Brown Group is 8.17%. This standard deviation is the monthly standard deviation for each of the stocks. On the other hand
the standard deviation of Vanguard Index 500 Trust is 4.61%. This shows that the standard deviation of both the individual... Show more content on

Q 4. How might the expected return for each stock relate to its riskiness? The expected return for each of the stocks has been calculated by the Capital
Asset Pricing Model. The risk free rate is one of the variables used in the CAPM formula. The risk free rate has been assumed here at 7% based on
historical statistics as no information has been given regarding it. The second variable is the return on market. This return has been estimated from
the average monthly return by transforming it into effective expected annual rate of return. Finally, the third variable used in the CAPM formula is
beta which has been calculated in the third question. This beta incorporates the systematic risk in the formula to calculate the expected return for a
particular stock. The expected return for Brown Group is 14.87% and for California RIET it is 8.00%. This shows that the expected return for Brown
Group is much higher than the expected return of California RIET. The reason for this is that Brown Group stock is much riskier than that of
California RIET; therefore, to compensate the high risk, higher return must be paid. When the potential investors will come to invest in the Brown
Group stock they will demand extra premium to compensate them for the extra risk they are taking by investing in this stock. This is because of the
basic principle of risk and return, which says that higher the risk higher should be the return. Now it will depend on the risk

Vanguard's Group Executive Summary
This is an executive summary of Vanguard's Group, Inc. which will provide a detailed analysis of its current financial condition and performance. It
includes various calculated financial ratios and its comparison with previous years as well as with the industry average of the current year. The
financial ratios have been divided into following subcategories: Liquidity Ratios, Activity Ratios, Debt ratios, Profitability ratios.
Liquidity ratios: Liquidity measures company's ability for short–term obligations. The two important liquidity ratios are Current ratio and Quick ratio.
The current ratio is estimated by dividing current assets by current liabilities. A Higher number indicates greater liquidity. Vanguard Group's current
ratio for 2007 is 1.66. The quick ratio is also known as the acid–test ratio. It excludes inventory which is the least liquid asset. The quick ratio is
important for a company whose inventory cannot be easily liquidated otherwise the current ratio is preferred. Like the current ratio, higher number in
quick ratio indicates better liquidity. Vanguard Group's quick ratio is 0.966. Vanguard's both current and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

interest earned ratio measures "firm's ability to make a contractual interest payment." (Gitman & Zutter, et al. 2015 p. 73). It is measured by divided

The major that our group chose to represent is finance. Finance is the study of the management and investment of funds. According to West Chester
University's Department of Finance, it "focuses on investment, international finance, and financial markets." As a finance major, students take their
abilities further than just creating a budget, but they learn how to analyze different budgets to determine what the best investment option is for a

It is important to take these skills that students learn while studying finance, and carry them to the workplace. Therefore, some experiences that were
mentioned had to deal with being able to budget dealing with the best investment option for a business. Over the summer, the retail store that one of
our members, Megan, worked at renovated the store. Considering that this process took a lot of time, there was a lot of budgeting money that went on

Democratization Of The Market Case Study
In the past, private individuals and large institutions have largely invested in actively managed mutual funds, such as Fidelity, in which fund managers
choose stocks with one goal – to surpass the market.
But after the financial crisis of 2008, investors switched to index funds, which reproduce stock indices, such as the S & P 500.
The scale of the changes is striking: from 2007 to 2016. in actively managed funds an outflow of about $ 1.2 trillion was recorded, while index funds
received more than $ 1.4 trillion.
In the first quarter of 2017, index funds raised more than $ 200 billion – and this is the highest quarterly growth.

index in which most people invest.
The power of passive investors
With corporate property comes the power of the shareholder.
Recently, BlackRock claimed that it had not legally been the "owner" of the shares on its balance sheet, but rather acts as a kind of custodian for its
investors.
This is common practice for lawyers.
What can not be denied is that the "Big Three" still uses the right to vote with these shares. Therefore, they should be perceived by the owners of de
facto corporate leaders.
These companies have publicly stated that they are seeking to exert influence. William McNabb, chairman and chief executive officer of Vanguard, said
in 2015 that "in the past, some mistakenly believed that our predominantly passive management style implies a passive attitude toward corporate
governance, but that's very far from the truth."
And if you analyze the vote of the Big Three, it turns out that it is coordinated through centralized departments of corporate governance. This requires
considerable effort, because technically

  • 3. Marxism Midterm Essay : State And Revolution Marxism Midterm Essay: State and Revolution Sarah Elberling University of Denver State and Revolution The early 20th century socialist revolutionary theorists Vladimir Lenin, Rosa Luxembourg and Leon Trotsky believed that the withering away of the state and the removal of the capitalist mode of production was a necessary outcome if the individual was to ever realize their true nature as being free, equal and self–determining. This, however, could only be achieved through the development of the proletariat's class consciousness and their defeat over the bourgeoisie. Their reasoning being that the working class themselves would remain limited by their own trade's union consciousness and therefore, would need the assistance of the Central Committee to lead them in the methods to achieve the socialist revolution. For Luxembourg, however, the vanguard party would need to be rooted and systematically connected to the proletariat class itself in order for the revolution's spontaneity and organizational dialectic ... For a company, pricing strategies can be made difficultly. If prices of goods are too higher, they may lose market share. The Black Panther Party 's Legacy The recollection of the Black Panther Party's legacy more than often remains to linger on in the collective memory as a group of armed leather– clad radicals of the 1960's. Although this memory is true, the Black Panther Party in actuality had more substance than just their attire. They were a political organization that reinforced human rights, they were leaders of self–defense against a police state that relentlessly brutalized black bodies, and caretakers of poor black communities that were receiving little to no attention by the state. They were an organization in bloom looking to create solidarity and heal within the black community by whatever means necessary. • 20. How can Vanguard be expected to compete in face of other challenges such as institutional and regulatory hurdles as well as smaller populations overseas? Marketing segmentation was a competency that has worked for Vanguard in the past. However, customers may resent excessive categorization based on perceived investing habits or income extrapolations by Vanguard. The customers may view 'Vanguard' as a Big Brother who pries into his or her personal lifestyle by monitoring their investment trends and then tailoring an investment plan for them with those assumptions. If you examine the potential target market sizing, the United States presents a wide array of opportunities with its varied ethnic groups. Companies such as Metlife and Citibank have done well by tapping into those markets and creating an investment niche. Rather than market segmentation based on investment habits, age or income; it may be advantageous for Vanguard to pursue these markets after conducting market tests or investment studies. Even if Vanguard decided to 'aggressively' target certain niche targets in its sales and marketing campaign, the potential dividends reaped from doing so are far expected to outweigh the costs as it currently spends about 20 cents out of every $10,000 invested to drum up new business which is well below industry norms. You know, the card game that your company owns. I have played the game for two years, and I enjoy playing it. I can spend the whole day talking about how I love the game, but in this letter I want to address some problems that Vanguard is facing instead. Although you may have already heard of the problems that I will present, I hope you will spend time listening to my complaints. New players first start by playing budget decks or simple decks because those decks don't require the players to do much thinking when playing Vanguard. As the players progress, they will soon realize that the budget version lacks power as well as the ability to create some combos in gameplays. In tournaments, budget decks normally have zero chance of winning against full power decks. A full power deck consists of many exceptional cards that can help the players gain huge advantages like drawing cards or making multiple attacks, and unfortunately, those cards don't exist in a budget deck. Thus, new players will need to upgrade their decks if they want to play competitively. Let's take me as an example. I want to build an awesome Dark Irregulars Deck, and thus I need a card named Gilles De Rais. The current price for Gilles is about $26 per copy, and I need at least two of it because it requires another copy of itself to be playable. So, $52 would be spent if I do want to use the card. In other words, you can see Cool in the eyes of others. According to Pountain and Robinson, "Cool has become a universal phenomena that has an important influence on all our institutions from the media to education to marketing and the economy as a whole". The writers define Cool as not only an oppositional attitude that expresses defiance to authority, but also as a permanent state of private rebellion. What makes Cool distinctive is its extreme variability as it is more affiliated with people rather than objects. Although Cool is meant to reflect what is inside, mainly the internal change and the revolutionary inclination from within, still one can not fail its manifestations on the outside. These are clearly demonstrated in the way the subcultures express their ideology through dressing and fashion. According to Pountain and Robinson, "Fashion has always been the key signifier of Cool.. It is the court in which Cool displays itself." This beta incorporates the systematic risk in the formula to calculate the expected return for a particular stock. The expected return for Brown Group is 14.87% and for California RIET it is 8.00%. This shows that the expected return for Brown Group is much higher than the expected return of California RIET. The reason for this is that Brown Group stock is much riskier than that of California RIET; therefore, to compensate the high risk, higher return must be paid. When the potential investors will come to invest in the Brown Group stock they will demand extra premium to compensate them for the extra risk they are taking by investing in this stock. This is because of the basic principle of risk and return, which says that higher the risk higher should be the return. Now it will depend on the risk ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Democratization Of The Market Case Study In the past, private individuals and large institutions have largely invested in actively managed mutual funds, such as Fidelity, in which fund managers choose stocks with one goal – to surpass the market. But after the financial crisis of 2008, investors switched to index funds, which reproduce stock indices, such as the S & P 500. The scale of the changes is striking: from 2007 to 2016. in actively managed funds an outflow of about $ 1.2 trillion was recorded, while index funds received more than $ 1.4 trillion. Recently, BlackRock claimed that it had not legally been the "owner" of the shares on its balance sheet, but rather acts as a kind of custodian for its investors. This is common practice for lawyers. What can not be denied is that the "Big Three" still uses the right to vote with these shares. Therefore, they should be perceived by the owners of de facto corporate leaders. These companies have publicly stated that they are seeking to exert influence. William McNabb, chairman and chief executive officer of Vanguard, said in 2015 that "in the past, some mistakenly believed that our predominantly passive management style implies a passive attitude toward corporate governance, but that's very far from the truth."
