7. Some Serious Questions Why did God direct Hosea to preach such an “action sermon”? Why did God inspire it to be recorded in Scripture? What are we supposed to learn from this parable of dysfunction?
8. The Marriage Parable God takes the relationship with me seriously. It is like a MARRIAGE covenant. My relationship with God is not to be treated LIGHTLY or easily DISCARDED for my personal gratification.
9. The Marriage Parable God doesn’t want to share me with anyone else. Every act of sin is an ADULTEROUS act and takes us away from God. Every unholy tryst produces more DAMAGE and SCARRING.
10. The Marriage Parable God doesn’t owe me anything. The love of God is not a RIGHT to be demanded or an ENTITLEMENT. I have no right to make DEMANDS on Him or CONTROL how this relationship will work.
11. The Marriage Parable God takes fixing my dysfunctional relationship with Him seriously. God is DISGUSTED with my wicked, profligate, wanton living. He will not sit idly by and watch His bride commit ADULTERY. God is still WILLING to making this relationship work through RESTORATION.
13. A Serious Conclusion Jeremiah 50:4-5 Realize how much God loves you. Throw your other “lovers” out. Come back to God with brokenness and humility. Recommit to loving God with everything. Ezekiel 37:21-24
