NOT FOLLOW A NARRATIVE. WE ACHIEVED THIS IS OUR VIDEO USING OVERLAID SHOTS WHICH SHOWS
THE DISTORTED REALITY THEME. OUR EXPRESSIVE EDITING VISUALLY FITS WITH THE STYLE OF MUSIC IN
THE SYNTHPOP GENRE. WE USED OVERLAY ON OUR DANCER AND THE RIBBONS BEING SWUNG IN THE
AIR.
8. LIGHTING
THE LIGHTING CONVENTIONS ARE MAJORITY SIMILAR IN MOST MUSIC VIDEO GENRES. THE MAIN ONE WE
USED WAS LIGHTING IZELLA FROM THE BEHIND. THIS LIGHTING ENHANCES HER FEATURES ON HER FACE
MAKING HER SKIN APPEAR FLAWLESS AND MAKING THE AUDIENCE ASPIRE TO BE LIKE HER. THIS LIGHTING
MAKES HER SEEM IMPECABLE WITH BEAUTIFUL LONG SHINY HAIR THIS TECHINQUE IS USED A LOT IN
MODELLING PHOTOS TOO BECAUSE IT IS INCREDIBLY FLATTERING.

BACKGROUND WORKED INCREDIBLY WELL TO HIGHLIGHT THIS. WE ALSO USED THESE COLOURS TO
CREATE A VERY STYLISED ARTIFICIAL MSIC VIDEO WHICH CONVEYED THE DISTORTED REALITY THEME
MORE SUCCESSFULLY. WE DIDN’T WANT TO CREATE A REAL LIFE ENVIRONMENT WE WANTED A STYLISTIC
TRIPPY SETTING WHICH IS MUCH MORE INTERESTING AND SURREAL AND IT ALSO MATCHES THE TRACK.
IN TOVE LO’S VIDEO ‘NOT ON DRUGS’ SHE USES VERY SIMILAR COLOURS TO OUR VIDEO. THESE BRIGHT
COLOURS GIVE OF THE VIBE OF THE SONG. THE COLOURS SHE USES CREATE A SURREAL TRIPPY EFFECT
WHICH ALSO MATCH THE LYRICS OF THE SONG.
10. DIGIPAK
DIGIPAK CONVENTIONS CONSIST OF – GRAPHIC DESIGNS, LIKE SHAPES AND LOTS OF STRAIGHT LINES AND

WE USED ALL OF THESE CONVENTIONS IN OUR DIGIPAK. WE KEPT THE COLOUR SCHEME THROUGHOUT ALL 3
PRODUCTS. WE CHANGED THE OPACITY OF A NUMBER OF SECTIONS ON THE COVERS TO CREATE A
SLIGHTLY ALTERNATIVE TRIPPY EFFECT TO IT GIVING IT A DISTORTED FEEL. CHARLIE XCX USES VERY
SIMILAR COLOURS TO US IN THE DIGIPAK. HAVING THE ARTIST ON THE FRONT COVER HELPS PROMOTE
THE ARTIST MAKING HER RECOGNISABLE HOWEVER THERE IS A BALANCE DEPENDING ON THE KIND OF
PHOTO BECAUSE DIFFERENT IMAGES COULD GIVE OF A DIFFERENT GENRE IMPRESSION. WE LIKED TOVE
LO’S ALBUM COVER BUT THE COLOURS WERE MUCH DARKER AND DIDN’T LOOK AS GOOD.

NIGHT TRIPPY VIBE. ALL THE WEBSITES SHOW QUICK THIN YET BOLD WRITING AND IT IS GENERALLY IN
WHITE OR A PALE COLOUR SO IT CONTRASTS WITH THE BACKGROUND. WE WANTED OUR WEBSITE TO
LOOK VERY SLEEK AND CLEAN BUT ALSO QUITE EDGY, MODERN AND COOL. THE WEBSITE ALSO HAS A
SELECTION OF PROFESSIONAL PICTURES OF THE ARTIST SO THAT THE FANS NO HER FOR HER FACE AS
