Slide 1:
I introduce my group’s particular which is Part Of Speech, my lecturer’s name who is Mr.
Azman Bin Mohamed and the name for this course which is WAJ3102 English Language
Proficiency.
Slide 2:
I state all eight types of part of speech which are nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs,
adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions and interjections. However, I only explain five from eight
of parts of speech because I do not learn about preposition, conjunction and interjection this
semester.
Slide 3:
Name of a person, place, thing, idea or quality is called a noun. In this slide, I will explain
about six types of nouns which are abstract nouns, concrete nouns, common nouns, proper
nouns, countable nouns and uncountable nouns. I also give an example for each types of
the nouns.
Slide 4:
I believe that all of you have understand and know all types of nouns. So, let’s we do some
exercise to test your understanding. You need to decide whether the underlined word a noun
or not. Then, you need to circle Yes or No as your answer.
Slide 5:
Pronoun is a word that refers to or takes the place of a person, place or thing. In this slide, I
will explain about seven types of pronouns which are personal pronouns, demonstrative
pronouns, interrogative pronouns, relative pronouns, intensive pronouns and indefinite
pronouns. I also give an example for each types of the pronouns.

There are seven types pronouns and I believed that all of you have understand all of that.
So, to test your understanding on pronouns, I had prepared some exercise. Let’s we do the
exercises together. You need to circle the pronoun that fits the sentence correctly.
Slide 7:
Adjectives is a word that describes person or thing. In this slide, I will explain about three
types of adjectives which are positive adjectives, comparative adjectives and superlative
adjectives. I also give an example for each types of the adjectives.
Slide 8:
I had prepared some exercises to enhance your understanding on adjectives. You need to
underline the adjective for each sentences.
Slide 9:
Verb ia a word or group words that express an action or a state. In this slide, I will explain
about three types of verbs which are auxiliary verbs, stative verbs and dynamic verbs. I also
give an example for each types of the verbs.
Slide 10:
To improve your understanding, let’s do some exercise. You need to underline the action
verb.
Slide 11:
The exercise in the previous slide is not enough for all of you. So, we will do some extra
exercise on verbs to make sure we understand it well. You need to underline the linking verb
and circle the words that are linked by the verb.

Adverb is a word that describes or gives more information about a verb, an adjective,
another adverb, or even the entire sentence. In this slide, I will explain about eight types of
verbs which are adverbs of degree, adverbs of manner, adverbs of place, adverbs of time,
adverbs of frequency, adverbs of duration and adverbs of probability. . I also give an
example for each types of the adverbs.
Slide 13:
To enhance your understanding on adverbs, I had prepared two slide of exercises on
adverb. You need to read the sentences carefully and underline an adverb for each of the
sentence.
Slide 14:
Let’s we continues our exercise on adverb. You need to underline the adverb and identify
what is modifying.
Slide 15:
To make sure all of you understand every parts of speech that I had explained before, ler’s
do extra exercise that includes verb, adverb, noun and adjective.
Slide 16:
Answer for the previous exercise.

Exercise on adjective, verb and pronoun. You need to choose correct word to fill in the blank
from the choices listed in a or b.
Slide 18:
