ISO-DISCTM Advantages
• Outside In Filtration
• Cloth = depth filtration vs. screens
• Completely submerged filter media
• Any filter plate can be isolated & monitored individually
• No Rotating parts/mechanical seals below the water surface
• Bi-Directional Linear backwash mechanism provides uniform media cleaning
• Offered with square or rectangular filter plate configuration (unique in industry)
• Easy fit into existing basins
• Nominal cloth media area is equal to the effective filtration area
• Small footprint to flow ratio
• Ultra-Low Reject Rate (1 - 3%) in TSS removal applications
• Low Driving Force Requirements: 12” (30-cm) of water column
• Easily Expandable to Increase Filtration Capacity
• Continuous Filtration During Backwash & Filter Maintenance

Expected Performance of the ISO-DISC
• The ISO-DISC Cloth Media Filter can typically produce a tertiary plant
effluent with the following quality:
– Total Suspended Solids, TSS: < 5 mg/L
– Biochemical Oxygen Demand, BOD5: < 5 mg/L
– Total Phosphorus, TP: < 0.1 mg/L*
– Effluent Turbidity: < 2 NTU
*with chemical pretreatment and also depending of the influent TP concentration
of the secondary effluent

Cloth disk filter
Benefits vs. competitors
• Simple, robust design
• Completely submerged disks use all area all the time
• No rotating underwater seals
• Disk area = 100% active filtration area
• Outside à In filtration
• Cloth media = depth filtration vs. screens
• Linear backwash mechanism provides uniform media cleaning
• Continuous filtration during backwash or maintenance
• Each disk can be isolated and monitored individually
• Square or rectangular disks easily fit into existing basins
• Low driving force requirement (30cm water column)

Iso-Disc key features
1. Linear backwash system
– Clean entire surface
– Uniform cleaning – No tip speed such as with rotating systems
– Lower backwash flows = lower operating costs due to less pumping
2. Isolate the disks
– 100% use of the cloth life
– Monitor turbidity and throughput
– Potential for significantly reduced redundancy for lower capital and op costs
3. Compact
– Use 100% of filter area not just the lower area such as screen type
– Lower capital costs including installation
4. Outside to In Filtration
– Easier access
– Easier maintenance
5. No rotating underwater seals
– Low maintenance
