AQUADAFTM Package System (PS)
COMPACT CLARIFICATION SOLUTION FOR EASE OF INTEGRATION
AQUADAF TM Package System (PS) is a
range of compactmetal units using the
rapid dissolved air flotationprocess. It is
particularly suited to surface water
clarification, tertiary wastewater treatment
and pretreatment in membrane systems.
AQUADAFTM PS uses high flotation speeds
and a reduced flocculation time. This product
is therefore a compact clarification solution,
saving a significant amount of space compared
with a conventional flotation plant.
RICTOR dissolved air flotation technology is particularly effective in eliminating low density particulate
pollution (algae, difficult-tosettle Suspended Solids). Air microbubbles are diffused into the flotation zone,
bringing the particles to the surface. The sludge blanket formed is discharged by overflow into a channel. This
system, combined with the patented perforated floor, allows for operation at high separation speeds.

sensitive areas
In a treatment system, Compakblue™ is used after a
biological treatment and a secondary clarifier.
An automatic wash cycle without reagents: Compakblue™
is submerged in a tank fed by the effluent to be filtered.
During the filtration cycle, water flows through the disc’s
cloth, which retains all suspended solids larger than 8μm.
Next the filtrate flows to the outlet channel via the disc
support tube. During operation of the Compakblue™
functions, and without stopping filtration, a section of the
filter cloth is automatically washed at regular intervals by
vacuum or by water depending on the installed version.
The Compakblue™ is available in 2 versions: one μ-strainer
filtration version (developed by Nordic Water), and a cloth
filtration version (developed by Mecana).

Why choose DCI®?
DCI®
Pre-treatment of oily effluent
The DCI® process (D-Circular Interceptor) is a new generation of circular separators for pre-treatment by
gravity separation of insoluble hydrocarbons and suspended matter. It therefore performs the first of
three stages in treating oily effluent from refinery and petrochemical processes, influencing the
effectiveness of the physico-chemical treatment and offering protection against accidental pollution.
The DCI® is a cylindrical-conical structure, fitted with an automatic device designed
to intermittently scrape floating matter and bottom sludge, enabling recovery of free
floating oils and extraction of bottom sludge by pumping at a single location.

HOW IT WORKS
An Integrated Three-Stage Process
Pressure filtration
RAPID MIX STAGE: Raw water flows into the rapid (flash)
mix zone where a coagulant is added. Coagulation is the
destabilization of colloidal particles, which facilitates their
aggregation and is achieved by the injection of a coagulant
such as alum or ferric chloride.
REACTOR ZONE: Coagulated water then flows into a second
reactor zone for intense internal recirculation and mixing
by an axial-flow turbine. Water and solids are recirculated
in and outof a cylindrical draft tube, promoting solids contact
and particle growth. A flocculating agent (polymer) is
injected inside the reactor draft, together with thickened
sludge recycled from the thickening zone. The recycled
sludge accelerates the flocculation process and ensures
the formation of dense floc particles of homogeneous size.
TRANSITION ZONE: The transition to the settling stage is
accomplished through an up-flow piston zone. Additional
flocculation takes place in this zone, as dense particulate
transitions upward and over an internal weir wall.

MAIN FEATURES
SETTLING SEPARATION ZONE: Flocculated solids enter
the settling zone, over a submerged weir wall, where
dense, suspended matter settles to the bottom of the
clarifier. Clarified water is displaced upward from the
downward moving slurry, through inclined tube settlers.
The tube modules act as a polishing step for lighter,
low density solids.
SLUDGE DENSIFICATION THICKENING: Settled sludge
is thickened progressively in the bottom of the clarifier
through the use of a rotating scraper mechanism. A
small portion of this thickened sludge is recycled to
the reactor zone and the remainder is periodically
blown down through an automatic blowdown valve.
EFFLUENT COLLECTION: Uniform collection of clarified
water is accomplished in effluent launders above the
settling tube assembly.

MEMBRANE TECHNOLOGY
Ultrafiltration is the physical treatment of water through membranes.
Membrane filtration involves clarifying and decontaminating water
(removal of bacteria, viruses, algae, pollen, etc.) by passing it
through porous and hollow fiber membranes that hold all unwanted
particles.
This technology ensures a constant and perfect water quality
regardless of variations in the quality and turbidity of the water to
be treated.
In addition, the ultrafiltration process is purely mechanical;
it reduces the use of chemicals and waste treatment, while
maintaining the mineral balance of the water.
Thus this technology protects our environment and the welfare of
future generations.

MEMBRANE TECHNOLOGY
Ultrafiltration is the physical treatment of water through membranes.
Membrane filtration involves clarifying and decontaminating water
(removal of bacteria, viruses, algae, pollen, etc.) by passing it
through porous and hollow fiber membranes that hold all unwanted
particles.
This technology ensures a constant and perfect water quality
regardless of the variations in the quality and turbidity of the water
to be treated.
In addition, the ultrafiltration process is purely mechanical;
it reduces the use of chemicals and waste treatment, while
maintaining the mineral balance of the water.
Thus this technology protects our environment and future
generations.

TREATMENT OF
YOUR EFFLUENT USING AIR FLOTATION
SERFLO® is a compact, rectangular dissolved air
flotator in stainless steel. Pressurised water and waste
to be treated circulate in parallel downflow mode to
optimise and calm the flotation. Water and sludge
upflow circulation, with sequential batch operation,
provide a much higher final concentration than with
circular flotators.
The pressurisation system and circuit comply with
the most recent European regulations for pressurised
equipment (DESP 123) and enable safe preparation
and distribution of pressurised water.
The dissolution yield and spread over the entire
flotation surface have been specially designed to
permit ultra high separation speeds without hindering
hydraulic flows.
Sludge hoppers with manual or automatic sluicing
provide optimal performance under all circumstances.
t Pressurised water diffusers cleanable on-stream
t Compliant with safety standards (side fairings,
emergency stop, CE and DESP standards)

HOW IT WORKS
Coagulation-Flocculation
After a coagulant is applied, the raw water flows into a
flocculation chamber to increase the size and cohesion
of the floc.
Settling
A clarifier equipped with lamellar modules is used to
accelerate the separation of the floc. The sludge stored
in the lower position of the separator is withdrawn
automatically at regulars intervals. Water is transferred
from the flocculation compartment to the settling tank
via a stilling chamber located beneath the lamellar
modules. Settled water is collected in the settling tank
overflow and pumped to the filters.

2 Settling tank
3 Filter
4 Air blower
Pressure filtration
Inside the filters, water is distributed above the filter media and
flows down through the sand, which traps the suspended solids.
Nozzles fitted on the filter floor collect the water evenly and then
discharge it directly towards the treated water tank, following
the application of a disinfection agent.
Water and air scour
Backwashing uses filtered water from the operating filter, coupled
with air scour. This design:

* We can also supply equipment from our ULTRAFOR®
Package System range (submerged hollow fibre
ultrafiltration membranes) for larger capacity facilities.
All ULTRAGREENTM PS solutions are based on compact
ultrafiltration units comprising:
tAn ULTRABOX® tank in which the membranes are
submerged,
tThe equipment necessary for the operation of the
ultrafiltration system,
t5IFFMFctrical control cabinet ensuring fully automatic
operation. Our range is made up of 5 models, delivered
in skid form, with dimensions designed to facilitate land
and sea transport. The maximum capacity of an
ultrafiltration unit is 450 m3/day.*
ULTRAGREENTM PS uses TORAY flat sheet mem-branes
with a reinforced structure for increased
service life and ruggedness. Their 0.08 micron cut-off
threshold makes them a genuine physical barrier,
allowing the elimination of bacteria and helminth
eggs and a reduction in faecal coliforms.

The ULTRASOURCE® is a compact, autonomous,
automatic and flexible system producing
ultrafiltrated water from network, ground and
surface water.
MEMBRANE TECHNOLOGY
Ultrafiltration is the physical treatment of water through membranes.
Membrane filtration involves clarifying and decontaminating water
(removal of bacteria, viruses, algae, pollen, etc.) by passing it through
porous and hollow fiber membranes that hold all unwanted particles.
This technology ensures a constant and perfect water quality regardless
of the variations in the quality and turbidity of the water to be treated.
In addition, the ultrafiltration process is purely mechanical;it reduces
the use of chemicals and waste treatment, while maintaining the
mineral balance of the water.
Thus this technology protects our environment and future generations.
Applications

AQUADAF TM Package System (RICTOR PROCESS) RAPID FLOTATION CLARIFICATION AQUADAFTM Package System (PS) COMPACT CLARIFICATION SOLUTION FOR EASE OF INTEGRATION AQUADAF TM Package System (PS) is a range of compactmetal units using the rapid dissolved air flotationprocess. It is particularly suited to surface water clarification, tertiary wastewater treatment and pretreatment in membrane systems. AQUADAFTM PS uses high flotation speeds and a reduced flocculation time. This product is therefore a compact clarification solution, saving a significant amount of space compared with a conventional flotation plant. RICTOR dissolved air flotation technology is particularly effective in eliminating low density particulate pollution (algae, difficult-tosettle Suspended Solids). Air microbubbles are diffused into the flotation zone, bringing the particles to the surface. The sludge blanket formed is discharged by overflow into a channel. Disk filters AMONG OUR REFERENCES: EQUIPMENTS COMPAKBLUE TM Compakblue™ REMOVAL OF SUSPENDED SOLIDS AND ASSOCIATED POLLUTANTS BY IMMERSED DISK FILTRATION WASTEWATER REUSE IN A COMPACT TREATMENT SOLUTION PERFORMANCE A quality water product that can be reused or discharged in sensitive areas In a treatment system, Compakblue™ is used after a biological treatment and a secondary clarifier. An automatic wash cycle without reagents: Compakblue™ is submerged in a tank fed by the effluent to be filtered. During the filtration cycle, water flows through the disc’s cloth, which retains all suspended solids larger than 8μm. Next the filtrate flows to the outlet channel via the disc support tube. During operation of the Compakblue™ functions, and without stopping filtration, a section of the filter cloth is automatically washed at regular intervals by vacuum or by water depending on the installed version. The Compakblue™ is available in 2 versions: one μ-strainer filtration version (developed by Nordic Water), and a cloth filtration version (developed by Mecana). However, they generate odors and can present difficulties with bottom sludge extraction. t$1*UZQFBOEPUIFS parallel plate separators perform better, but are very subject to fouling by waxy products and do not handle bottom sludge. The DCI® is a new generation of circular separators developed to resolve these problems. Performances Why choose DCI®? DCI® Pre-treatment of oily effluent The DCI® process (D-Circular Interceptor) is a new generation of circular separators for pre-treatment by gravity separation of insoluble hydrocarbons and suspended matter. It therefore performs the first of three stages in treating oily effluent from refinery and petrochemical processes, influencing the effectiveness of the physico-chemical treatment and offering protection against accidental pollution. The DCI® is a cylindrical-conical structure, fitted with an automatic device designed to intermittently scrape floating matter and bottom sludge, enabling recovery of free floating oils and extraction of bottom sludge by pumping at a single location. • 6. HOW IT WORKS An Integrated Three-Stage Process Pressure filtration RAPID MIX STAGE: Raw water flows into the rapid (flash) mix zone where a coagulant is added. Coagulation is the destabilization of colloidal particles, which facilitates their aggregation and is achieved by the injection of a coagulant such as alum or ferric chloride. REACTOR ZONE: Coagulated water then flows into a second reactor zone for intense internal recirculation and mixing by an axial-flow turbine. Water and solids are recirculated in and outof a cylindrical draft tube, promoting solids contact and particle growth. A flocculating agent (polymer) is injected inside the reactor draft, together with thickened sludge recycled from the thickening zone. The recycled sludge accelerates the flocculation process and ensures the formation of dense floc particles of homogeneous size. TRANSITION ZONE: The transition to the settling stage is accomplished through an up-flow piston zone. Additional flocculation takes place in this zone, as dense particulate transitions upward and over an internal weir wall. EQUIPMENTS DENSADEG® DENSADEG® The DensaDeg® Clarifier/Thickener is a high-rate solids contact clarifier which combines optimized flocculation, internal and external sludge recirculation, and plate settling in two conjoined vessels. CLARIFCATION PHOSPHOROUS REMOVAL SOFTENING INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS SEPARATION TECHNOLOGY: DensaDeg® 2D CLARIFIER/THICKENER The DensaDeg® Clarifier, Softener and Thickener is the water and wastewater industry’s most robust, versatile process on the market. This high-rate system combines optimized flocculation, internal and external solids recirculation, thickening in two conjoined vessels to maximize hydraulic loading and treatment efficiencies. The proprietary blend of energy input and high volume solids recirculation reduces waste volumes and results in rapid settling operation and high quality treated water. The DensaDeg® process is proven in hundreds of installations on nearly all physical-chemical separation applications in the municipal drinking water, wastewater and industrial markets. DENSADEG ® DENSADEG ® Applications - Wastewater: W Water: Water: Water Wastewater MAIN FEATURES SETTLING SEPARATION ZONE: Flocculated solids enter the settling zone, over a submerged weir wall, where dense, suspended matter settles to the bottom of the clarifier. Clarified water is displaced upward from the downward moving slurry, through inclined tube settlers. The tube modules act as a polishing step for lighter, low density solids. SLUDGE DENSIFICATION THICKENING: Settled sludge is thickened progressively in the bottom of the clarifier through the use of a rotating scraper mechanism. A small portion of this thickened sludge is recycled to the reactor zone and the remainder is periodically blown down through an automatic blowdown valve. EFFLUENT COLLECTION: Uniform collection of clarified water is accomplished in effluent launders above the settling tube assembly. 1 2 3 4 5 6 1 3 4 5 6 2 Rapid Mixer Sludge Recycle Collection Troughs Sludge Blowdown Reactor Draft Tube Reactor Drive Tube Settlers scraper mechanism 7 8

The sludge stored in the lower position of the separator is withdrawn automatically at regulars intervals. Water is transferred from the flocculation compartment to the settling tank via a stilling chamber located beneath the lamellar modules. Settled water is collected in the settling tank overflow and pumped to the filters. Flocculation/Settling chamber Filters front 1 Flocculator 2 Settling tank 3 Filter 4 Air blower Pressure filtration Inside the filters, water is distributed above the filter media and flows down through the sand, which traps the suspended solids. Nozzles fitted on the filter floor collect the water evenly and then discharge it directly towards the treated water tank, following the application of a disinfection agent. Water and air scour Backwashing uses filtered water from the operating filter, coupled with air scour. • 18. HOW IT WORKS TECHNICAL DATA DIMENSIONS EQUIPMENTS ULTRASOURCE® ULTRAS OURCE® MEMBRANE COMPACT AL IN ONE SCALABLE Drinking water Ground water Surface water Process water The ULTRASOURCE® is a compact, autonomous, automatic and flexible system producing ultrafiltrated water from network, ground and surface water. MEMBRANE TECHNOLOGY Ultrafiltration is the physical treatment of water through membranes. Membrane filtration involves clarifying and decontaminating water (removal of bacteria, viruses, algae, pollen, etc.) by passing it through porous and hollow fiber membranes that hold all unwanted particles. This technology ensures a constant and perfect water quality regardless of the variations in the quality and turbidity of the water to be treated. In addition, the ultrafiltration process is purely mechanical;it reduces the use of chemicals and waste treatment, while maintaining the mineral balance of the water. Thus this technology protects our environment and future generations. Applications MAIN FEATURES X Water needs From 50 to 500 m3/day The ULTRASOURCE® operates in patented dead-end mode, to significantly reduce operating costs. The ULTRASOURCE® requires no tank for backwashing. The system alternates filtration and backwashing sequences (moving against the current). It allows a stable and long-lasting operation. The total number of modules will be defined according to the water to be produced and the characteristics of the raw water to be treated.
