Comparing Love In Girl, Gravity And Two Kinds
Types of a Mothers Love A mother's love for her children is supposed to be something that never
dies. The problem is, this 'love' can be expressed in many ways. Sometimes, the love is shown in
such a way that there is no doubt that this woman would do anything for her offspring. Sometime,
this love can be viewed, as a way that that the mother is trying to mold her daughter into what she
believes is the 'right' way to behave. Other times, the mother is trying her best to make sure that
her child is doing HER best. These three types of "love" are expressed in the three short stories
"Girl," "Gravity," and "Two Kinds." The mother in "Girl" is portrayed as an overbearing monster.
For some unknown reason, she has...show more content...
The daughter in this story has to live with the reality that her mother has a mindset of what a
woman is. Unfortunately, it appears to be virtually impossible to fill the mold that her mother has
for her. In "Gravity," the mother has been put into an awful situation. Her son, who seems to be
about 30 years old, has the AIDS virus. He has grown weak and feeble. He basically relies on his
mother for all his needs. This mother is portrayed as a mother that will (and unfortunately has to)
do anything for her son. Even when he was a little child who could not see, his mother lent him
her glasses so he could see "Fiddler on the Roof." She did this with full knowledge that she would
be forced to squint for the entire showing. The mother herself has her own sicknesses, which she has
to deal with. But, even still, she puts her son's well – being before hers… just like she has
when he was a little child who couldn't see. The mother not only does things to help her son
physically, she does things to help him emotionally. When she and her son are in a shop
purchasing a gift bowl, she tossed the $500 glass bowl to her feeble son. To the surprise of her
son and everyone else in the store, he held on. Theo, the son, was overwhelmed with joy that he
didn't see a pile of glass in front of his feet. As good as a mother as she is, she does have some
flaws. First, she somewhat gives the impression that she has been annoyed with the situation. She

My Mother Essay
What can one say about their mother? One may talk about her positive and negative characteristics.
There are so many great traits I love and admire about my mom, that it would be difficult and unfair
to write about just one. Being strong, generous and optimistic are all some great personality traits,
which my mother possesses.
Ever since I can remember, my mother has been a strong individual. She raised my brother and I
financially, emotionally, physically and spiritually by herself. My mom gave her all, by that I
mean, she worked two jobs to make sure her children ate properly and that they had the essential
amenities to grow happily and successfully. Another way she supported us was with love and care.

prayer time to me and my brother's attention. My mom instilled As a child, my mother displayed the
seriousness of spirituality. In which she expressed her faith in us at an early age, that prayer time
was not the time to make jokes nor to complain about having to partake in it.
One lesson she taught us the most, was how seriousness about our spiritual beliefs could provide us
with a substantial, stable and structural lifestyle.
My mother's heart is at its purest when giving. I witnessed my mother chip in and pay for people's
rent, car notes, and buying them groceries. Although my mother's intentions were good,
occasionally, her generosity has been taken advantage of. One time a close friend of the family, came
to my mother in desperate need. He asked her to loan him a large amount of money, with the
agreement that he would pay back in either monthly or weekly installments. My mom never did see
the money that was due to her. Despite the incident she still gives and encourages others to give,

Love Of A Mother Essay
A LOVE OF A MOTHER
Mother is the woman who gave birth to you. Mother is the one who knows all about you and
Mother is the one who sacrifice all for you. So all mother in the world should be respected because
we all know that they deserve it and always remember that we are here because of them. Love,
respect and care your mother as you can, Because if you love someone you feel that they are very
important to you and if you respect you have a good opinion of them, and lastly if you care you feel
that it is important and are concerned about it.
She is the first person to sacrifice her life by giving birth to all of us children. She taught us how
to walk, talk and smile. Our first mentor and teacher in helping us determine what is right and
wrong. That is how our mothers are! Some moms, especially in our new generation evolve as the
sole providers of the family. Many are saying that mothers are the emotional backbones of the
family. If problems occur they are the strongest person to hold back and we can...show more content...
She is her children's best friend. A mother is someone who loves you unconditionally and more than
life itself. Mothers are angels in disguise sent from God to watch and help us through our
troublesome times. We hardly stop to think of how they feel and if they need help, we abuse them in
a sense by not appreciating them enough. The definition for love is a great liking or affection.
But love is something stronger. Love doesn't give up, doesn't have a swelled head and doesn't
force itself on others. Love isn't jealous, is always forgiving and without love, we are nothing. A
mother's love is a bond that connects us together, even before birth. It is stronger than any feeling
of hate or fury. Love takes on everything, even if it can't carry it all. Mothers may seem just like
ordinary people, but they are really super heroes in disguise! They show their love in a million

Essay about Love
Love
Love is difficult to define, difficult to measure, and difficult to understand. Love is what great
writers write about, great singers sing about, and great philosophers ponder. Love is a powerful
emotion, for which there is no wrong definition, for it suits each and every person differently.
Whether love is between family, friends, or lovers, it is an overwhelming emotion that can be
experienced in many different ways.
People experience love for the first time by being part of a family. Family love is demonstrated
through lessons of sacrifice, concern and compassion, from the cradle to the grave. There are many
different levels and conditions of family love. It is the love we cherish between our intermediate
family and our...show more content...
A close–knit loving bond between two people can begin with a friendship. Whether it is a friendship
between two males, two females, or one male and one female, these friendships will develop into
love. In no way is it a romantic love, but this type of love connects and bonds friends. Friends may
move away or friendships may wane, but the love between the two people burns on forever.
Romantic love is a love that not every person will experience. It is a type of love that is not there at
the beginning, but grows within the individual. When one finally finds the love they have been
looking for, one can not imagine life with anybody else. Romantic love is a connection between two
souls that is captured with a feeling that is not only felt within the heart but within their body as
well. I have never been in love with a girl; I can only imagine what it might be like to be in love.
Guessing from my sister's relationship with boys, it seems like a big headache instead of a
wonderful feeling.
To simply write a definition of love is complicated because every person has a different perception of
love. The only way to capture the true meaning of love is to experience the feeling and find out
for oneself, what love is. In our lives and the lives of others, love is evident. Whether it is between
family, friends, or lovers, love is a precious

Love My Mother
We try to compare our parents to other parents, our friends always tell us 'hey your mom and dad
were super cool' but we think to ourselves, are my parents that cool. I think the world revolves on
how strict or soft our parents can be. We all have our experiences with our parents growing up to
now that we're in college, we look back and we ask ourselves was my mom or dad strict with me or
soft, which leads me to telling you this story were i will be explaining how my mother was soft
compared to Sophia's mother from tiger mom.
In this story short "why i love my strict chinese mom" by Sophia–Chua–Rubenfield, she talks about
how her mother was so strict with her. Sophia was 18 years old at this time, so at the beginning of
the story Sophia starts telling us how she had such a hard mother know everybody criticized her.
My mother raised me like every other parent excluding her rules, in the story Tiger mom Sophia
explains how critically involved her mom was in school with her, She explains to us how strict
and uptight she was with her during her period of growing up. I feel like my mom was very
lenient more say soft as I grew up, she had her boundaries she had her walls and she only told me
once the things I had to do, things are very set out and forward between me and my mother there
is no hiding anything no lies. So I felt like I had her trust there is no curfew there is never a talk
about hey don't do this don't do that don't hang out with these people, I feel like she never

A Mothers Love Lost
A mothers love lost
Having a mother 's love is like an essential part of staying alive. Without a mother 's love it's kind
of hard to survive the unbarring trials that life has to throw at you. I have been struggling without
the love of my mother for about nine and a half years and not one thing has changed. I'm still upset
about the fact where I use to have days filled with love and laughter to days that are now filled with
unwanted tears and regret. This is an emotional essay of the things that my mother and I went
through to finally come to the conclusion that our relationship vanished within midair. Losing a
mother's love is a terrible thing to lose. At one point of time, I use to know how strong and great a
mother's love can be....show more content...
The next month I told my teacher what had happened and she sent me to my guidance counselor.
I was told that I had to tell everything that happened. That day I was told that everything was
going to be okay, but it wasn't. An investigation was ordered and everything came up negative.
That's when my relationship with my mom became sour. The police had ordered her to choose to
keep me in the house or to keep my stepdad in the house, but both of us were not allowed to stay in
the same house. My mother did the unthinkable and chose her husband over me. My heart broke
and I just felt as if my mother did not love me anymore. My stepdad had convinced my mother that
I was telling a lie, and when my mother makes up her mind, that's the end of discussing it any
further. I was forced to stay with my grandparents, and my mother did not want to see me and she
didn't want my brother to be around me. As time moved further our family started to split apart, and
it was because of me. I felt as though I was the blame for everything that was going wrong in my
family. Instead of expressing my feelings in the right way, I showed them in school, but it was the
wrong way. I started becoming disrespectful, and I started looking at life a different way. I got to
the point where if my mom didn't love me or care about me, why should anybody else care or love
me. I began to turn people away and I just wanted to be by myself. It's 2011 and the relationship
with my mom has not changed. I

A Mothers Love A mother's loves at what cost will one pay to receive it? The story "A Rocking
Horse Winner" is about a young boy who desires to be loved by his mother. He desires his mother's
love so bad that he ends up dying trying to receive it. The author D.H. Lawrence develops a theme
that states, the desire for money and social status is more important than her children.
The story is about a young boy named Paul who tries to win his mother's love by winning money.
Paul has a connection with his rocking horse. He has the ability to ride his horse and see who
might win the race. However, in the end Paul tries too hard to win his mother's love and affection
and ends up losing...show more content...
The author displays that even when his mother receives what she desires she is still longing for
more money which in the end results in Paul's death and her realization of what has become of her
family. Paul 's mother reveals her feeling towards her husband. In a conversation between the
mother and Paul, Paul asks if she feels that she is lucky and her reply is "I can 't be if, I married an
unlucky husband." The mother associates love by how successful one is, and this reveals that since
her husband does not earn enough money she does not have love for him or even Paul. The mother
also states in the conversation "I used to think I was, before I married. Now I think I am very
unlucky indeed." In the end Paul 's mother's greed pushes him to the limit.
Oscar is Paul 's uncle, and like Paul is interested in horse racing. He does not like to place high
wagers like Paul because unlike Paul he is not sure who the winner is. Paul asks Oscar to keep
this a secret by saying "honor bright," but doesn 't really take him serious and agrees because he
wants to make money. When Paul dies, Oscar states "My God, Hester, you 're eighty–odd thousand
to the good, and a poor devil of a son to the bad." Paul 's death really is not something which
affected the Uncle because he tries to comfort Hester by telling her how much money she has.
Paul 's greatest conflict is against himself, because he allows the pressure from his mother and society

I have never been in love with a girl; I can only imagine what it might be like to be in love. Guessing from my sister's relationship with boys, it seems like a big headache instead of a wonderful feeling. To simply write a definition of love is complicated because every person has a different perception of love. The only way to capture the true meaning of love is to experience the feeling and find out for oneself, what love is. In our lives and the lives of others, love is evident. Sophia was 18 years old at this time, so at the beginning of the story Sophia starts telling us how she had such a hard mother know everybody criticized her. • 6. A Mothers Love Lost A mothers love lost Having a mother 's love is like an essential part of staying alive. Without a mother 's love it's kind of hard to survive the unbarring trials that life has to throw at you. I have been struggling without the love of my mother for about nine and a half years and not one thing has changed. I'm still upset about the fact where I use to have days filled with love and laughter to days that are now filled with unwanted tears and regret. This is an emotional essay of the things that my mother and I went through to finally come to the conclusion that our relationship vanished within midair. Losing a mother's love is a terrible thing to lose. At one point of time, I use to know how strong and great a mother's love can be....show more content... The next month I told my teacher what had happened and she sent me to my guidance counselor. I was told that I had to tell everything that happened. That day I was told that everything was going to be okay, but it wasn't. An investigation was ordered and everything came up negative. That's when my relationship with my mom became sour. The police had ordered her to choose to keep me in the house or to keep my stepdad in the house, but both of us were not allowed to stay in the same house. My mother did the unthinkable and chose her husband over me. My heart broke and I just felt as if my mother did not love me anymore. My stepdad had convinced my mother that I was telling a lie, and when my mother makes up her mind, that's the end of discussing it any further. I was forced to stay with my grandparents, and my mother did not want to see me and she didn't want my brother to be around me. As time moved further our family started to split apart, and it was because of me. I felt as though I was the blame for everything that was going wrong in my family. Instead of expressing my feelings in the right way, I showed them in school, but it was the wrong way. I started becoming disrespectful, and I started looking at life a different way. I got to the point where if my mom didn't love me or care about me, why should anybody else care or love me. I began to turn people away and I just wanted to be by myself. It's 2011 and the relationship with my mom has not changed. I Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Paul 's mother reveals her feeling towards her husband. In a conversation between the mother and Paul, Paul asks if she feels that she is lucky and her reply is "I can 't be if, I married an unlucky husband." The mother also states in the conversation "I used to think I was, before I married. Now I think I am very unlucky indeed." In the end Paul 's mother's greed pushes him to the limit. Oscar is Paul 's uncle, and like Paul is interested in horse racing. He does not like to place high wagers like Paul because unlike Paul he is not sure who the winner is. Paul asks Oscar to keep this a secret by saying "honor bright," but doesn 't really take him serious and agrees because he wants to make money. When Paul dies, Oscar states "My God, Hester, you 're eighty–odd thousand to the good, and a poor devil of a son to the bad."
