Descriptive Essay About My Mother
Do you know what your first word was? Mine was mom and since day one she has been the being
that I love. My mom is an extremely selfless, nurturing, and hard–working person. She mainly only
thinks and cares about others and she works very hard for the life she and my dad has created for
our family. Most of all, she teaches me lessons that are imperative as I go through life. The core
lesson that my mom has taught me is, no one is perfect. This is a crucial message we need in this
world, due to hatred that we need to block out and focus on things that are truly vital. My mom has
many other traits that make her who she is, which is someone that I sincerely love. My mom and I
have a very close relationship. She helps me out with...show more content...
I'm not a super open person with people I just met, just like my mom. She expects me to do the
right thing and try my hardest which is always good to have that support and faith. Sometimes it
can be stressful, but it's beneficial to have a push so I don't go backwards. Our relationship has
changed since I am growing up and maturing. I feel as though I can talk to her about everything.
She gives great advice and loves to listen. Although she gets distracted some, I know she is
listening and cares. My mom has taught me that we all have very different development needs
and strengths, no one is perfect. It is important to be kind to one another. We must speak from a
place of love, even when we are losing our patience. All in all, there is so much hate in this world
and we can't act along with it. My protector, enforcer, and world has given me life and more than
anything I could ask for, but expects nothing in return. Frankly, anything I give her wouldn't
account for all she has done for me. The best that I could do and I know that she would want me
to do, is follow her lessons she has taught me growing up. Become the woman she raised me to be,
not just her, but even more so. I know I will be a successful adult in life with everything that I
learned and she will always be there to experience my ups and downs. The greatest gift she has
given me is the knowledge to pursue the world and in return I will follow through with

No matter how hard life gets for me and how chaotic things can become there has always been one
person that I can turn to, my mom. She's been a wealth of advice to call on when I'm clueless and
a shoulder to cry on when I'm down. Her compassion for others inspires me to be a better person
as does the guidance she has given me over the years. She's not afraid to give me a reality check
and to tell me the things I don't want to hear even though I need to. She keeps me grounded and
teaches me to appreciate the smaller things in life. Even though my dad was still involved in my life
after my parents split up it was my mother who I primarily lived with and it was her who had the

Heaven help you if you do anything to endanger her family. My mom also does not go soft on her
kids; she can be a formidable disciplinarian when she wants to and will not hesitate to set us
straight when we broke the rules. She won't let anybody walk over her and is really quick to anger
if you try. My mother is strong–willed and stubborn; when she sets her mind to something almost
nothing will stop her and what an impossible feat it is to change her mind on something. She is
very impatient; when she wants something done she wants it done at this very moment, no later.
She is idealistic and she enjoys the simpler things that life has to offer. She loves nature and would
love nothing more than to be living in a cabin in the mountains while listening to country music.
She does not pay much attention to news happening outside her local area and prefers to focus on
what's happening in her immediate area. From my mother I have learned how to be the person that
I am today. Through her I have learned the importance of family and that it is paramount to spend
time with them while I still have it. Even now I try to spend time with my family when I have the
opportunity to. Form her I have learned compassion for those around me and for animals. Even

In my 16 years of life thus far, few people have influenced me more than my mother. She is the
reason I have a life, after all, and I am extremely thankful for her and everything she does for me.
Mothers tend to be great listeners and advice–givers for their children. I am fortunate enough to have
my mother be a professional counselor, making her exceptional at both qualities. A couple of
years ago, she earned a master's degree, became both a school counselor and a clinical counselor,
and specialized in helping young people. This proved especially beneficial for me during my
awkward and confusing preteen years and remains that way during my late teen years. From
conferences and meetings, she learned about how the teenage brain grows and...show more content...
Stress about school, my appearance, my social status, my future, among other worries consumed my
thoughts, and I could not figure out why. To satisfy my problems, I came to the incorrect assumption
that nothing I did mattered in the long run. This only shifted my sadness from stress about
everything to the empty feeling that I was living for no reason. I drifted through the days,
attempting to forget about my ridiculous idea, but for some reason my birthday triggered the
insecurity inside. I tried to hide my pain, so no one would not worry about me. After a small
party with my family, during which I faked smiles and pretended to be happy, my mother
approached me in the kitchen of our house. Family tends to stay late at parties, so by the time
everyone was gone my father and siblings were already asleep, and my mother and I were basically
alone.
"What's the matter?" she said, affectionately. She explained that throughout the day she noticed my
sulking around the house, but did not want to confront me in front of our family.
"Nothing," I replied, "I'm fine." Most people would not like to delve any further than that; moody
kids are usually not the best conversationalists. She could have used this as a way out and gone to
bed and avoid discussing my odd behavior, but she wanted to confirm everything was honestly all
right, or rather, discover what was wrong.
"Seriously," she persisted. "I'm not going

Beth a.k.a "Mama Beth" ,I know what you are thinking who calls there mom by her first name.
well that's the cool thing about my family we aren't the average traditional family, and Mama
Beth isn't really my mom but at the same time she is. Hard to grasp the concept? yea i know how
you feel. Beth is the closest thing i have to a mom at this point in time in my life she is strict and
hard headed when need but caring and understanding. It was hardly even a month into my stay
with Beth, Bri and Brayden when we actually started to face and understand the problems of my
life. I was hurting and confused on life itself but Mama Beth was always there to guide me she
gave me not only a role model but hope and love. She took me to church and help me connect with
god again I remember the first time I heard her mention anything having to do with her religion.
"We are going to church this sunday ally be ready and dress nice."I looked up at her from the
back seat confused and a little worried. "I don't go to church mama Beth I haven't been since Bri
left" She looks down for a second with a subtle sigh and shake of her head before turning back to
face me with a caring smile and a gleam in her eye I could only find comforting as she rested a
hand on my knee. "Why do you not go to church hun? Is it because Bri left or is it something
else?" Now it was my turn to look down but this time it was in shame and regret. "The people at the
church did not accept me anymore after Bri left, They

Blonde hair, blue eyes, and a smile that you'll never forget. By definition my mom is just a mom,
but to me, she is a superhero. To say the least my mom has been through hell and back, but clinging
to hope and faith she has jumped every hurdle that is placed in front of her. To be half the woman my
mother is, will be a true blessing.
My mom has one of those laughs that is contagious, one that you can't help but laugh along. She
has crystal blue eyes that'll make anyone with brown eyes jealous, long blonde hair, and just the
right amount of freckles. Without a doubt, she has the biggest heart and the kindest soul I have
ever seen. She would drop anything and everything to help whoever was in need. Her love for her
children is indescribable. There was never a time that I didn't see my mom cheering in the stands at
every game, coming to every parent–teacher night, or watching at every dance recital.
Growing up was nothing short of easy, attending 6 different schools by the time she was 15 due
to overcrowding, moving, and alternative reasons. She was forced to drop out in the eleventh
grade because my oldest brother was on his way. "One night can change your life forever." My
mom was 16 with a newborn baby, struggling to make it day by day. Her parents didn't condone
her having a baby at such a young age so they wanted her out. "Do you know what it feels like to
be so young, so scared, and having your parents want nothing to do with you or the baby you're
about to have?" Overcoming all of those obstacles, my parents both went back to school and
eventually opened their own business in child care. When I ask my mom what she would do
differently in her early life, she always answers with "not a darn thing".
Owning a child care center had its ups and downs. There were always those kids who would come
in with rags for clothes, and shoes that looked about 8 months too small. My mom had the biggest
heart for those kids, always wanting to just take them home and care for them. There was a time
when 3 sisters enrolled, all being about a year and a half apart from each other. Their mother was
abusing drugs and the boyfriend seemed to be abusing the kids. Seeing the marks and listening to
the oldest sister tell stories of

My mother Christy Rehn has many great qualities that make up who she is today. First, to give a
physical description; she is a female and is 44 years old about 5'5 . She has short dark brown hair
that goes down to her shoulders. Her eyes are as brown as a bear and are very fast moving. One
great quality is that my mom is very funny. She enjoys a good laugh when she's feeling happy or not
feeling well at all. She enjoys spending time with her family. Especially, going to the movies as well
as sitting out on the beach on a hot sunny day. My mom isn't just another average person, she shares
her many unique qualities that allow others to see who she really is on the inside. Walking in from

Her opinion towards others is that some are better than others. I think that she has the ability to
inspire others since she is a teacher and in general. She makes others feel like they are welcome in
this world and that they can accomplish anything they work hard on or put their mind to. Taking
responsibility is something my mom really follows through on she makes a big to commitment to
her job, who she married, and especially to her kids. She is determined to make what we want to
become a reality. She thinks that nothing is impossible, you just have to work for your goals and
never back down from what you are doing. Her sense of humor is something that I love she is
hilarious and tells the best stories. I know that having boundaries is something us kids don't like
but it's a good thing on the parent side. While my mom loves me, she will be upset with me if I
make a serious mistake and there will be consequences. This shows that she has good parenting
and is loyal to what she says and does. My mom is a wonderful listener, if I tell her that I have a
big test coming up or that I got into trouble at school she will remind me each day to study for the
test coming up. She will then sit down with me to discuss what had happened that day at school.
It's like my mom has a daily agenda in her mind. She always knows what's going on the day being
like if I have a soccer game or if my sisters going out with friend etc, she

My mommy, one of the most important people in my life, the most selfless individual I know &
probably will ever know. From the moment I was born, she was the first person I fell in love with.
She is indeed gorgeous, but its her soft light brown eyes that show nothing but kindness the love
you get from her make you feel warm on the coldest day. My mom always worked hard to ensure
that me and my sister had the best upbringing that we could get, at times she was strict and often
talked to me in a stern tone whenever me or my sister made a mistake. Of course no child likes
punishment, but as I got older and looked back on it I realized that she was correcting me out of love
& not to scrutinize me. Me and my sister always took pride in our mother's appearance , I especially
took pride in her eyes. I remember when she would come to my school for report card pick up , I
wanted to make sure everyone knew some way some how, that this beautiful creature was my
mother. I've seen very beautiful people throughout my lifetime, but very few, match the
impeccable beauty that is my mother. The main reason I was always fond of my mother, is
because of the way she used to take more than great care of us, especially when one of us were sick.
She is a very knowledgeable woman who knew and made different at home remedies to care for
us when we fell ill. There was never a moment when we were sick that we felt uncomfortable while
we were sick in her care, even the shortest back rubs would put us

What can one say about their mother? One may talk about her positive and negative characteristics.
There are so many great traits I love and admire about my mom, that it would be difficult and unfair
to write about just one. Being strong, generous and optimistic are all some great personality traits,
which my mother possesses.
Ever since I can remember, my mother has been a strong individual. She raised my brother and I
financially, emotionally, physically and spiritually by herself. My mom gave her all, by that I
mean, she worked two jobs to make sure her children ate properly and that they had the essential
amenities to grow happily and successfully. Another way she supported us was with love and care.

She would encourage me by simply saying, "Complaining is a useless way to solve problems, but
becoming active on the issue is a great way to conquer it. My mother My mother has always had
strong faith and views in her religion. When I was younger, every day and night, she would bring
prayer time to me and my brother's attention. My mom instilled As a child, my mother displayed the
seriousness of spirituality. In which she expressed her faith in us at an early age, that prayer time
was not the time to make jokes nor to complain about having to partake in it.
One lesson she taught us the most, was how seriousness about our spiritual beliefs could provide us
with a substantial, stable and structural lifestyle.
My mother's heart is at its purest when giving. I witnessed my mother chip in and pay for people's
rent, car notes, and buying them groceries. Although my mother's intentions were good,
occasionally, her generosity has been taken advantage of. One time a close friend of the family, came
to my mother in desperate need. He asked her to loan him a large amount of money, with the
agreement that he would pay back in either monthly or weekly installments. My mom never did see
the money that was due to her. Despite the incident she still gives and encourages others to give,
whether is it a donation, or volunteering your time in your community. My

She didn't have to choose me, she didn't have to provide for me, she didn't have to love me and
she most definitely didn't have to take me in, but she did. I'm so unbelievably proud to call my
mom my hero. When I was just a baby, I was living with my Biological mom and it was an abusive
home. She didn't provide for me, nurture me, or any of the things you should do for a baby.
Sadly, she was too drunk all the time to even feed me. When I was 10 months Social Services
took me to a foster home and when I was one, I was adopted by the most amazing and most
beautiful person whom to this day, I call my mom. She adopted me, and took me in like I was her
own child. Growing up she showed me that she is going to love me, take care of me, and most
importantly, treat me like I'm wanted. She stayed awake numbers of nights just holding me while
I lied awake crying my eyes out from my scary past and they turned into night mares. To this day, I
still have those dreams. In my opinion, it would be quite annoying to have a baby screaming and
crying all the time. But she didn't mind because she understood I was hurting. There was a time
when all my siblings and I were together, and had dinner together. All the little kids were playing
outside and we could see them through the window. My mom didn't want them in there for this
talk. My mom told us she has Skin and Kidney Cancer. She told us she didn't know how bad it was
but that we will keep on going forward with doctors' appointments. Almost every day that my
mom was going through that, she has stayed positive even when she is hurting to her max. I
might be bragging a little bit, but I believe I have the strongest mom out there. My mom always
made sure my siblings and I had smiles on our faces even when we didn't want to smile. Now a
days, I'm her favorite trouble child! I got sent away for half a year to a residential treatment
facility. I truly believed my mom was giving me up when she told me I'm going to treatment for 6
months. I've never had so much hate in my heart before for someone. Even after all of the times I
was so unbelievably rude, and nasty, and hateful towards her, she took it all, and still showed me
love. There was never a day when I was gone that she

November 12, 1998, I first laid eyes on the woman I would call my symbol for the rest of my life.
"First my mother, forever my friend(unknown)". Not everyone has a symbol like Tanya Clark, but
she is everything you desire to be. Mom is unblemished when it comes to representing love, strength,
and independence. When it comes to love there are many different branches you can break it down
into things such as; caring, acceptance, trust, passion, and support. My mom shows these
qualities of love but her two strongest points are passion and support. Passion is showing a
strong and uncontrollable love for someone or something. My mom shows passion by making
sure my siblings and I are taken care of no matter what the situation. For instance, my sister ran off
to Colorado with a man she barely knew, my mom paid 400+ for a plane ticket back. She did this
for the reason of having so much compassion and love for my sister and her safety. Therefore, the
price of safety didn't matter. Support comes hand in hand in when it comes to love, my mom
NEVER missed one basketball or softball game unless it was a broken limb situation. My mom's
love is deeper than the ocean when it comes to her kids and friends. Much like love my mom shows
an outrageous amount of strength not just in her arms and legs but also in her heart and mind. When
my mom shows her physical strength it's either to outdo me or to fight me. When my mom tries to
outdo me it's to set an example of mentality to give me the

I was in my step mothers car going to an unknown place with my surroundings getting less and
less familiar. My mother with a smug face said "everything is okay, we will be there soon " as if
she knew what I was thinking. As our car came to a stop, we arrived at our destination. We
stopped at a tall dark building the look like it could touch the heavens.we entered the lobby a
chandelier hung from the roof with glass so sharp it cuts your eyes just looking at it. A lady
sitting at her desk told us to take the elevator to the third floor, then told me to take a
right, left, forward, left so many instructions I could not keep up with what she was saying. we
went to the third floor and my step mother without hesitation look a right as if she could
remember what the lady told her. After what felt like miles of walking we stopped at a door that was
painted to look like it was meant for a child to walk though and have a great time I could not hold

sitting in a red burgundy chair saying "hello James remember me ". I had since she was my real
mother the person I had not seen in years. The room I had just walked had walls covered in
yellow, blue and red flowers. The floor covered in stale carpet as if many people have been here
before me.In one of the farthest corners from was a TV with the startup menu for one of my
favorite movies at the time (StarShip Troopers). In the corner to the right of me was a stack of
books waiting to be read aloud. In the corner to the left of my was a chestful of old and new toys
ready to be played with by anyone who wanted to play .The wall in front of me was made of glass.
My mother still sitting in the red burgundy chair looking very antsy and ready to play. "hey lets
play tag" said mother very excitedly "okay ya that sounds like a great idea" I said not knowing what
was going to happen to me next We played for a little while until my mother until my mother
made a very far jump to the right and I hit the wall where all the toy were."oh are you okay"She said

and I went straight into the glass way

She's a small woman, her hair is short and the strands are few but thick. As I put my hands through
her soft shiny hair I can almost feel her intense, painful past that she carries on her shoulders melt
away. She smells like home and food, bringing back delightful memories of when I would stand on
a chair next to her at the stove, as she taught me the secret of how to make our families enchilada
sauce. Her skin is soft, from the countless nights she has spent making tamales just to make ends
meet.
She is fragile looking, almost as if a fall of a leaf would be enough to bring her plummeting down.

I go to my mother's room, it's empty except for her dresser and the bed she sits on. I look at her
and raise my shirt, "What are these?" I asked, her face is cold and severe, showing no emotion.
She looked at me, first at my stomach and then at my face "They're called fat marks" she says
coldly as she turned away, not giving me a second thought.
I run upstairs to my room, it was in the attic. I try to find solace, but there was none. I could not
escape the words that my mother had just said, they repeated in my head over and over again. Warm
tears ran down my face, I search the room for something, anything to hold onto, to silence my cries,
but there was nothing. I wrapped my arms around myself and cried until I fell asleep from
exhaustion.
I look in the mirror to see that my nose and lips are pink and tears are running down my cheeks,
uncontrollably another memory jumps into my head. I'm looking for something in the corner of my
mom's room that is the unspoken designated area for clothes. I find my favorite white lace shirt, I
had found it in a second–hand store. It was the first shirt that I had found and bought myself and
enjoyed wearing. It made me feel pretty, which was a difficult task. "I thought I lost you." I said
out loud, "What?" my mother said. I turned around to see my mom was struggling to get down the
stairs to her room, the pain of the movement evident on her face. I walked over to her and offered
my arm and she took it.

I was the one who discovered it. It was shocking and almost unbearable to see someone who I had
known since kindergarten to be so full of light, draped across the bed without a speck of color.
Despite her hardship in her latter years, Aimee was a character of joy, always seeing the best in
everyone and everything. She had no outspoken enemies, although not everyone was as
thoughtful to her as she was to them. Her only known adversaries were the boys who she always
would turn down. She waited for one that would be on the same intellectual and emotional level as
her, if that were even possible for a guy her age. She was reserved, yet outspoken when a voice was
needed to be heard. She was caring and as graceful as can be. Always as light as a feather, even
when walking down a busy hallway with her heavy books or through a crowded party,
heavy–limbed from the alcohol. Her last few years of high school were rough, while the worse

years, our friend group increased and so did the drama. People from

When I was 10 years old, I realized my so–called mother might not be related to me. I had started to
grow to around 5' tall, but I still felt small among my classmates, most of whom were 5' 3" at the
time. There was one person who would make me feel tall, and that person was my mother. Although
my so–called mother was only 4'11, the difference was noticeable, well, to me at least. As soon as I
saw the height difference, I immediately capitalized on it; it was one of the best things to happen to
me. "Hey mom!" I said, coming from the backyard. "Yes, sweetie?" my mom said from her
bedroom, "Do you need something?" I walked into her room and stood next to her to show I was
taller, "Looks like I'm the adult now!" I said, my smile as big as it's ever been before. "Are you
now?" my mother said, chuckling. "Then I guess you can pay the bills, and do all my chores and
go to my work while I go to school." My smile quickly faded; I did not understand that she was
joking. I was angry, and stomped to my room. Lying in bed, I started to think, How can she make
me do all that? She's a monster, I can't be her son. Then, as if a lightbulb went off in my head, I
realized that she was not really my mother. If more proof is needed, I have more examples. My
so–called mother had a very short temper for a very long time, and even now she gets angry
somewhat quickly. I on the other hand, was very calm, and still am to this day. On December 22nd,

I had always been very fond and proud of my hair. No matter what others tell me, I would always go

to wonder what was wrong with these people. I had my hair just like my mother's; half curly and half
straight. According to my mom, she got her curly hair from her father and the straight ones from
her mom. When I looked in the mirror all I could see was the front part , which was soft and silky.
What I could not see and others could see was the curly and rough hair on the hind part that
standed perpendicular to my head. Whenever my parents tried to cut my hair I would run and
hide somewhere until they gave up the idea. I still remember the time when they tried to cut my
hair and I ran away and hid in the storage building for the whole day. I can understand my parents
too. I was an energetic little girl. I would make a lot of mess around the house and get my clothes

When I was 14 years old, I realized that my mom and I are very similar. My mom and I have
always been close. We laugh and joke with each other and can also have serious conversations
with one another. The two of us both have dark coffee colored hair that's almost a hazelnut color
in the sun. Our eyes are penny brown that can change to almost a caramel color. We look very
similar and think very similar as well. We are literally almost the same person mentally. One
afternoon, my mom and I were sitting next to one another when she began talking to me about
how when she was in high school, about my age, she began to write poetry and keep a journal.
She went on to tell me how her and her friends would take the journal whenever her or the other
girls had inspiration for a poem. A little later she found the dusty, beat up, old spiral notebook and
showed it to me. She began skimming through the wrinkled pages as they crunched between her
fingertips. Her eyes lit up as she found one of her favorite poems. "I remember the day I wrote
this, I remember every feeling I had when writing this down," She said with pure excitement.
"Really? How can you remember something so minor as that after all these years?" "Hey! It
wasn't THAT long ago! But I remember it because it was very special to me." "Makes sense I
guess. Can I read it?" "I'll read it, Your face in the moonlight Our hearts once one But now we are
nothing but broken glass Reflections of our past Footprints on my heart Lust in my soul For fear
of what's to come But I know I am not the one..." "That's really cool!" "You like it? Well, why
don't you keep it? Use it for some inspiration and maybe you could start writing your own as well."
"Thank you! I'll take great care of it." "I know you will," My mom smiled as bright as the
morning sun. Her face lit up with joy knowing that I may start to follow in her footsteps. To this
day I still use that book to help me when writing song lyrics, it has really come in handy. My mom
and I always joke that we have mental telepathy but neither one of us really believed it until one
day when we were at the store. We were both there for separate things so we decided to split up and
meet in a different area when we were done. I

Descriptive Essay About My Mom
When I was born, I was one pound and ten ounces. I was too small to be a healthy child. I was put
on a ventilator, and I was transferred to a different hospital being escorted by 4 police cars
surrounded by the ambulance. Some people did not believe I would live to be a normal child
because I was supposed to have many complications yet the only thing I developed was bad eye
sight. When my mother was able to hold me three months after I was born she made a promise to
me that she will be a good mom. My mom carries characteristics like inspiration, trustworthiness, and
being positive, which makes her the best mom.

attended the daycare myself....show more content...
There was one old man who shared his story of how he came back from serving in the Middle
East and no one wanted to hire him because he is a retired veteran. There was also a young
woman who shared her story on how she escaped her abusive household. All of these stories
would make me sad, and mad with the injustices in the world. From them I realized how
privileged I am to have a roof over my head, have food, water, and receive an education. From
these stories, my mom inspired me to give back to people that are less fortunate and one day share
this experience when I have children of my own.
Between my mom and my dad, I tell my mom the majority of what goes on in my life instead of
my dad. My dad was raised completely different than my mom. My dad was raised by rules and
guidelines while my mom was raised on consequences. With this in hand, my dad's rules for me
never worked out since I would do the complete opposite. One of these occasions was the day I
snuck out with my friend Linda to the beach at midnight. I was happy to feel the cold sand on my
toes, and smelling the salty breeze from the ocean. I wanted to get away from the stress of senior
year, college applications, and boys of course. While I did have a good time while it lasted, I
came home at 3 o'clock in the morning. I told my mom the next day that I snuck out. I also told her
that the cameras took a picture of my license as I passed

Descriptive Essay About My Mother
If your mom is like mine then you are sure lucky. Hi, I'm Emily and my mom is Maricela. My
mom Maricela would always tell me stories about how she didn't quite fit in at her school and
how she felt ashamed for herself about being pregnant. I've always wondered what my mom was
like as a kid. She had told me about how she was a pregnant teenager and how people would judge
her because she had made mistakes in the past. But I knew that I would love my mom for who she
was and how she is a great mother for me and a great wife to Brad. I was now ten years old and my
mom had gotten married to Brad. They got married last summer and invited everyone to the garden,
I even got to be the flower girl and hold a giant bouquet that was filled with...show more content...
The next morning my mom asked me how school was going and I told her that I met a girl named
Lily and told her what was happening. I asked my mom if there was any way we could help her
out and give her healthy foods from the garden. "That would be a wonderful thing to do." My
mom said with a giant smile on her face. I then packed a lunch for Lily and I and headed out the
door. I walked into the lunch room and sat next to Lily and my 3 best friends, Jennifer, Brittany,
and Kendall. I handed the lunch that I had made for her and immediately saw that she was starting
to cry. Drips were coming down her face as if she was walking in the rain.
"Thank you so much Emily, I haven't had this good of a meal in weeks."
"No worries I just wanted to make sure that you had something to eat and that you were happy.", I
answered.
I asked, "Mom what if we could build or own store next to the garden?"
She answered, "Well if we did we would need tons of money and lots of workers to give all the
meals out."
I said, "What if we could make flyers that advertised it around Cleveland?"
I also said, "Well we could also ask Leona, and Sam if they would want to help us." The next day
we spent hours putting all of the signs all over town and got everyone in the garden to help out.
Everyone had a team meeting about what the store was going to be named, and where the

Descriptive Essay About My Mother
Most of my family photo albums are packed with pictures of me with my grandmother. There she
is, bathing me as a newborn, and there again, holding me as a little girl, a huge grin lighting up
my face. Her name is Maria Luisa Lishner de Albertis, and though everyone has always called her
Lucha, to me she has always been Mami. For every moment of my life, she's been there: every
single recital, ceremony, or event I've been a part of; all the home cooked meals she'd wake up early
to cook for the family, even now that the memories of her favorite recipes have started to fade; and
all those nights in high school when she'd hear me crying from her room, and come to sit at the
foot of my bed and speak to me in her gruff yet so sweet voice. Mami has seen me at my worst and
at my weakest, and not once has her quiet, under–appreciated love ever faltered. It is October 15th,
her 66th birthday, and I'm sitting with her on the couch in our living room, accompanied by my
mom, Mossy, her brother, Luis, and various aunts and uncles. She's a small woman, hardly
reaching five feet, and she sits comfortably with her ankles crossed, playing Candy Crush Saga. I
quickly learn as we start to speak something that probably should have been realized earlier: my
grandmother is a woman of very few words. "Mami, what was your childhood like?" "Good," she
responds promptly, swiping at her phone screen. "What about your siblings? I know you have many
of them." "They were good too." I wait a little

My Mom, My Superhero

  • 1. Descriptive Essay About My Mother Do you know what your first word was? Mine was mom and since day one she has been the being that I love. My mom is an extremely selfless, nurturing, and hard–working person. She mainly only thinks and cares about others and she works very hard for the life she and my dad has created for our family. Most of all, she teaches me lessons that are imperative as I go through life. The core lesson that my mom has taught me is, no one is perfect. This is a crucial message we need in this world, due to hatred that we need to block out and focus on things that are truly vital. My mom has many other traits that make her who she is, which is someone that I sincerely love. My mom and I have a very close relationship. She helps me out with...show more content... I'm not a super open person with people I just met, just like my mom. She expects me to do the right thing and try my hardest which is always good to have that support and faith. Sometimes it can be stressful, but it's beneficial to have a push so I don't go backwards. Our relationship has changed since I am growing up and maturing. I feel as though I can talk to her about everything. She gives great advice and loves to listen. Although she gets distracted some, I know she is listening and cares. My mom has taught me that we all have very different development needs and strengths, no one is perfect. It is important to be kind to one another. We must speak from a place of love, even when we are losing our patience. All in all, there is so much hate in this world and we can't act along with it. My protector, enforcer, and world has given me life and more than anything I could ask for, but expects nothing in return. Frankly, anything I give her wouldn't account for all she has done for me. The best that I could do and I know that she would want me to do, is follow her lessons she has taught me growing up. Become the woman she raised me to be, not just her, but even more so. I know I will be a successful adult in life with everything that I learned and she will always be there to experience my ups and downs. The greatest gift she has given me is the knowledge to pursue the world and in return I will follow through with Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Descriptive Essay About My Mother No matter how hard life gets for me and how chaotic things can become there has always been one person that I can turn to, my mom. She's been a wealth of advice to call on when I'm clueless and a shoulder to cry on when I'm down. Her compassion for others inspires me to be a better person as does the guidance she has given me over the years. She's not afraid to give me a reality check and to tell me the things I don't want to hear even though I need to. She keeps me grounded and teaches me to appreciate the smaller things in life. Even though my dad was still involved in my life after my parents split up it was my mother who I primarily lived with and it was her who had the greatest influence on my life growing up. Anyone who has known my...show more content... Heaven help you if you do anything to endanger her family. My mom also does not go soft on her kids; she can be a formidable disciplinarian when she wants to and will not hesitate to set us straight when we broke the rules. She won't let anybody walk over her and is really quick to anger if you try. My mother is strong–willed and stubborn; when she sets her mind to something almost nothing will stop her and what an impossible feat it is to change her mind on something. She is very impatient; when she wants something done she wants it done at this very moment, no later. She is idealistic and she enjoys the simpler things that life has to offer. She loves nature and would love nothing more than to be living in a cabin in the mountains while listening to country music. She does not pay much attention to news happening outside her local area and prefers to focus on what's happening in her immediate area. From my mother I have learned how to be the person that I am today. Through her I have learned the importance of family and that it is paramount to spend time with them while I still have it. Even now I try to spend time with my family when I have the opportunity to. Form her I have learned compassion for those around me and for animals. Even Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Descriptive Essay About My Mom In my 16 years of life thus far, few people have influenced me more than my mother. She is the reason I have a life, after all, and I am extremely thankful for her and everything she does for me. Mothers tend to be great listeners and advice–givers for their children. I am fortunate enough to have my mother be a professional counselor, making her exceptional at both qualities. A couple of years ago, she earned a master's degree, became both a school counselor and a clinical counselor, and specialized in helping young people. This proved especially beneficial for me during my awkward and confusing preteen years and remains that way during my late teen years. From conferences and meetings, she learned about how the teenage brain grows and...show more content... Stress about school, my appearance, my social status, my future, among other worries consumed my thoughts, and I could not figure out why. To satisfy my problems, I came to the incorrect assumption that nothing I did mattered in the long run. This only shifted my sadness from stress about everything to the empty feeling that I was living for no reason. I drifted through the days, attempting to forget about my ridiculous idea, but for some reason my birthday triggered the insecurity inside. I tried to hide my pain, so no one would not worry about me. After a small party with my family, during which I faked smiles and pretended to be happy, my mother approached me in the kitchen of our house. Family tends to stay late at parties, so by the time everyone was gone my father and siblings were already asleep, and my mother and I were basically alone. "What's the matter?" she said, affectionately. She explained that throughout the day she noticed my sulking around the house, but did not want to confront me in front of our family. "Nothing," I replied, "I'm fine." Most people would not like to delve any further than that; moody kids are usually not the best conversationalists. She could have used this as a way out and gone to bed and avoid discussing my odd behavior, but she wanted to confirm everything was honestly all right, or rather, discover what was wrong. "Seriously," she persisted. "I'm not going Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Descriptive Essay About My Mother Beth a.k.a "Mama Beth" ,I know what you are thinking who calls there mom by her first name. well that's the cool thing about my family we aren't the average traditional family, and Mama Beth isn't really my mom but at the same time she is. Hard to grasp the concept? yea i know how you feel. Beth is the closest thing i have to a mom at this point in time in my life she is strict and hard headed when need but caring and understanding. It was hardly even a month into my stay with Beth, Bri and Brayden when we actually started to face and understand the problems of my life. I was hurting and confused on life itself but Mama Beth was always there to guide me she gave me not only a role model but hope and love. She took me to church and help me connect with god again I remember the first time I heard her mention anything having to do with her religion. "We are going to church this sunday ally be ready and dress nice."I looked up at her from the back seat confused and a little worried. "I don't go to church mama Beth I haven't been since Bri left" She looks down for a second with a subtle sigh and shake of her head before turning back to face me with a caring smile and a gleam in her eye I could only find comforting as she rested a hand on my knee. "Why do you not go to church hun? Is it because Bri left or is it something else?" Now it was my turn to look down but this time it was in shame and regret. • 5. Descriptive Essay About My Mom Blonde hair, blue eyes, and a smile that you'll never forget. By definition my mom is just a mom, but to me, she is a superhero. To say the least my mom has been through hell and back, but clinging to hope and faith she has jumped every hurdle that is placed in front of her. To be half the woman my mother is, will be a true blessing. My mom has one of those laughs that is contagious, one that you can't help but laugh along. She has crystal blue eyes that'll make anyone with brown eyes jealous, long blonde hair, and just the right amount of freckles. Without a doubt, she has the biggest heart and the kindest soul I have ever seen. She would drop anything and everything to help whoever was in need. Her love for her children is indescribable. There was never a time that I didn't see my mom cheering in the stands at every game, coming to every parent–teacher night, or watching at every dance recital. Growing up was nothing short of easy, attending 6 different schools by the time she was 15 due to overcrowding, moving, and alternative reasons. She was forced to drop out in the eleventh grade because my oldest brother was on his way. "One night can change your life forever." My mom was 16 with a newborn baby, struggling to make it day by day. Her parents didn't condone her having a baby at such a young age so they wanted her out. "Do you know what it feels like to be so young, so scared, and having your parents want nothing to do with you or the baby you're about to have?" Overcoming all of those obstacles, my parents both went back to school and eventually opened their own business in child care. When I ask my mom what she would do differently in her early life, she always answers with "not a darn thing". Owning a child care center had its ups and downs. There were always those kids who would come in with rags for clothes, and shoes that looked about 8 months too small. My mom had the biggest heart for those kids, always wanting to just take them home and care for them. There was a time when 3 sisters enrolled, all being about a year and a half apart from each other. Their mother was abusing drugs and the boyfriend seemed to be abusing the kids. • 6. Descriptive Essay About My Mother My mother Christy Rehn has many great qualities that make up who she is today. First, to give a physical description; she is a female and is 44 years old about 5'5 . She has short dark brown hair that goes down to her shoulders. Her eyes are as brown as a bear and are very fast moving. One great quality is that my mom is very funny. She enjoys a good laugh when she's feeling happy or not feeling well at all. She enjoys spending time with her family. Especially, going to the movies as well as sitting out on the beach on a hot sunny day. My mom isn't just another average person, she shares her many unique qualities that allow others to see who she really is on the inside. Walking in from school, I saw Christy running around and thinking...show more content... Her opinion towards others is that some are better than others. I think that she has the ability to inspire others since she is a teacher and in general. She makes others feel like they are welcome in this world and that they can accomplish anything they work hard on or put their mind to. Taking responsibility is something my mom really follows through on she makes a big to commitment to her job, who she married, and especially to her kids. She is determined to make what we want to become a reality. She thinks that nothing is impossible, you just have to work for your goals and never back down from what you are doing. Her sense of humor is something that I love she is hilarious and tells the best stories. I know that having boundaries is something us kids don't like but it's a good thing on the parent side. While my mom loves me, she will be upset with me if I make a serious mistake and there will be consequences. This shows that she has good parenting and is loyal to what she says and does. My mom is a wonderful listener, if I tell her that I have a big test coming up or that I got into trouble at school she will remind me each day to study for the test coming up. She will then sit down with me to discuss what had happened that day at school. It's like my mom has a daily agenda in her mind. • 7. Descriptive Essay About My Mother My mommy, one of the most important people in my life, the most selfless individual I know & probably will ever know. From the moment I was born, she was the first person I fell in love with. She is indeed gorgeous, but its her soft light brown eyes that show nothing but kindness the love you get from her make you feel warm on the coldest day. My mom always worked hard to ensure that me and my sister had the best upbringing that we could get, at times she was strict and often talked to me in a stern tone whenever me or my sister made a mistake. Of course no child likes punishment, but as I got older and looked back on it I realized that she was correcting me out of love & not to scrutinize me. Me and my sister always took pride in our mother's appearance , I especially took pride in her eyes. I remember when she would come to my school for report card pick up , I wanted to make sure everyone knew some way some how, that this beautiful creature was my mother. I've seen very beautiful people throughout my lifetime, but very few, match the impeccable beauty that is my mother. The main reason I was always fond of my mother, is because of the way she used to take more than great care of us, especially when one of us were sick. She is a very knowledgeable woman who knew and made different at home remedies to care for us when we fell ill. There was never a moment when we were sick that we felt uncomfortable while we were sick in her care, even the shortest back rubs would put us Get more content on HelpWriting.net

There are so many great traits I love and admire about my mom, that it would be difficult and unfair to write about just one. Being strong, generous and optimistic are all some great personality traits, which my mother possesses. Ever since I can remember, my mother has been a strong individual. She raised my brother and I financially, emotionally, physically and spiritually by herself. My mother My mother has always had strong faith and views in her religion. When I was younger, every day and night, she would bring prayer time to me and my brother's attention. My mom instilled As a child, my mother displayed the seriousness of spirituality. In which she expressed her faith in us at an early age, that prayer time was not the time to make jokes nor to complain about having to partake in it. One lesson she taught us the most, was how seriousness about our spiritual beliefs could provide us with a substantial, stable and structural lifestyle. My mother's heart is at its purest when giving. I witnessed my mother chip in and pay for people's rent, car notes, and buying them groceries. Although my mother's intentions were good, occasionally, her generosity has been taken advantage of. One time a close friend of the family, came to my mother in desperate need. He asked her to loan him a large amount of money, with the agreement that he would pay back in either monthly or weekly installments. My mom never did see the money that was due to her. Despite the incident she still gives and encourages others to give, whether is it a donation, or volunteering your time in your community. My Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Descriptive Essay About My Mother No matter how stressful life gets for me or how chaotic life can become there has always been one person that I know I can turn to, my mother. Even though my father was still involved in my life after my parents split up it was my mother who I primarily lived with and it was her who had the greatest influence on my life growing up. Anyone who has known my mother for five minutes can tell you that her number one first concern in life is her family. She is devoted to her family and never fails to be there when a family member is in need. She always encourages others to connect and spend time with family; arguing that they won't be there forever. If a person were to spend another five minutes with my mother then they would be able to tell that she has an enormous heart for animals. She'll go out of her way to help an animal in need whether, it's a turtle in the middle of the road or a fish that has washed up on the street from a recent storm. She will never miss an opportunity to be there when family or and animal is in need. She is incredibly helpful and will assist you to the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Descriptive Essay About My Mom She didn't have to choose me, she didn't have to provide for me, she didn't have to love me and she most definitely didn't have to take me in, but she did. I'm so unbelievably proud to call my mom my hero. When I was just a baby, I was living with my Biological mom and it was an abusive home. She didn't provide for me, nurture me, or any of the things you should do for a baby. Sadly, she was too drunk all the time to even feed me. When I was 10 months Social Services took me to a foster home and when I was one, I was adopted by the most amazing and most beautiful person whom to this day, I call my mom. She adopted me, and took me in like I was her own child. Growing up she showed me that she is going to love me, take care of me, and most importantly, treat me like I'm wanted. She stayed awake numbers of nights just holding me while I lied awake crying my eyes out from my scary past and they turned into night mares. To this day, I still have those dreams. In my opinion, it would be quite annoying to have a baby screaming and crying all the time. But she didn't mind because she understood I was hurting. There was a time when all my siblings and I were together, and had dinner together. All the little kids were playing outside and we could see them through the window. My mom didn't want them in there for this talk. My mom told us she has Skin and Kidney Cancer. She told us she didn't know how bad it was but that we will keep on going forward with doctors' appointments. Almost every day that my mom was going through that, she has stayed positive even when she is hurting to her max. I might be bragging a little bit, but I believe I have the strongest mom out there. My mom always made sure my siblings and I had smiles on our faces even when we didn't want to smile. Now a days, I'm her favorite trouble child! I got sent away for half a year to a residential treatment facility. I truly believed my mom was giving me up when she told me I'm going to treatment for 6 months. I've never had so much hate in my heart before for someone. Even after all of the times I was so unbelievably rude, and nasty, and hateful towards her, she took it all, and still showed me love. There was never a day when I was gone that she Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Descriptive Essay About My Mother November 12, 1998, I first laid eyes on the woman I would call my symbol for the rest of my life. "First my mother, forever my friend(unknown)". Not everyone has a symbol like Tanya Clark, but she is everything you desire to be. Mom is unblemished when it comes to representing love, strength, and independence. When it comes to love there are many different branches you can break it down into things such as; caring, acceptance, trust, passion, and support. My mom shows these qualities of love but her two strongest points are passion and support. Passion is showing a strong and uncontrollable love for someone or something. My mom shows passion by making sure my siblings and I are taken care of no matter what the situation. For instance, my sister ran off to Colorado with a man she barely knew, my mom paid 400+ for a plane ticket back. She did this for the reason of having so much compassion and love for my sister and her safety. Therefore, the price of safety didn't matter. Support comes hand in hand in when it comes to love, my mom NEVER missed one basketball or softball game unless it was a broken limb situation. My mom's love is deeper than the ocean when it comes to her kids and friends. Much like love my mom shows an outrageous amount of strength not just in her arms and legs but also in her heart and mind. When my mom shows her physical strength it's either to outdo me or to fight me. When my mom tries to outdo me it's to set an example of mentality to give me the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Descriptive Essay About My Mother I was in my step mothers car going to an unknown place with my surroundings getting less and less familiar. My mother with a smug face said "everything is okay, we will be there soon " as if she knew what I was thinking. As our car came to a stop, we arrived at our destination. We stopped at a tall dark building the look like it could touch the heavens.we entered the lobby a chandelier hung from the roof with glass so sharp it cuts your eyes just looking at it. A lady sitting at her desk told us to take the elevator to the third floor, then told me to take a right, left, forward, left so many instructions I could not keep up with what she was saying. we went to the third floor and my step mother without hesitation look a right as if she could remember what the lady told her. After what felt like miles of walking we stopped at a door that was painted to look like it was meant for a child to walk though and have a great time I could not hold my excitement. The place I dreaded I now wanted in so bad. As the door open there was a person sitting in a red burgundy chair saying "hello James remember me ". I had since she was my real mother the person I had not seen in years. The room I had just walked had walls covered in yellow, blue and red flowers. The floor covered in stale carpet as if many people have been here before me.In one of the farthest corners from was a TV with the startup menu for one of my favorite movies at the time (StarShip Troopers). In the corner to the right of me was a stack of books waiting to be read aloud. In the corner to the left of my was a chestful of old and new toys ready to be played with by anyone who wanted to play .The wall in front of me was made of glass. My mother still sitting in the red burgundy chair looking very antsy and ready to play. "hey lets play tag" said mother very excitedly "okay ya that sounds like a great idea" I said not knowing what was going to happen to me next We played for a little while until my mother until my mother made a very far jump to the right and I hit the wall where all the toy were."oh are you okay"She said worried "yes im okay let's keep playing" As we kept playing my mother dodged again a little too far and I went straight into the glass way Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Descriptive Essay About My Mother She's a small woman, her hair is short and the strands are few but thick. As I put my hands through her soft shiny hair I can almost feel her intense, painful past that she carries on her shoulders melt away. She smells like home and food, bringing back delightful memories of when I would stand on a chair next to her at the stove, as she taught me the secret of how to make our families enchilada sauce. Her skin is soft, from the countless nights she has spent making tamales just to make ends meet. She is fragile looking, almost as if a fall of a leaf would be enough to bring her plummeting down. I run upstairs to my room, it was in the attic. I try to find solace, but there was none. I could not escape the words that my mother had just said, they repeated in my head over and over again. Warm tears ran down my face, I search the room for something, anything to hold onto, to silence my cries, but there was nothing. I wrapped my arms around myself and cried until I fell asleep from exhaustion. I look in the mirror to see that my nose and lips are pink and tears are running down my cheeks, uncontrollably another memory jumps into my head. I'm looking for something in the corner of my mom's room that is the unspoken designated area for clothes. I find my favorite white lace shirt, I had found it in a second–hand store. It was the first shirt that I had found and bought myself and enjoyed wearing. It made me feel pretty, which was a difficult task. "I thought I lost you." I said out loud, "What?" my mother said. I turned around to see my mom was struggling to get down the stairs to her room, the pain of the movement evident on her face. I walked over to her and offered my arm and she took it. • 14. Descriptive Essay About My Mother I was the one who discovered it. It was shocking and almost unbearable to see someone who I had known since kindergarten to be so full of light, draped across the bed without a speck of color. Despite her hardship in her latter years, Aimee was a character of joy, always seeing the best in everyone and everything. She had no outspoken enemies, although not everyone was as thoughtful to her as she was to them. Her only known adversaries were the boys who she always would turn down. She waited for one that would be on the same intellectual and emotional level as her, if that were even possible for a guy her age. She was reserved, yet outspoken when a voice was needed to be heard. She was caring and as graceful as can be. Always as light as a feather, even when walking down a busy hallway with her heavy books or through a crowded party, heavy–limbed from the alcohol. Her last few years of high school were rough, while the worse than usual rumors stacked up on the endless schoolwork which stacked up on her abusive father at home. Outwardly, she was still happy except on that night. It was the twelfth year of going to the cabin. We had transitioned from our first year there, filled with juvenile acts from sledding, hide and seek, and early bedtimes. Now during the break for our last year of high school, our parents stayed behind, and the only time we were out in the snow was to throw–up booze. Throughout the years, our friend group increased and so did the drama. People from Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Descriptive Essay About Mom When I was 10 years old, I realized my so–called mother might not be related to me. I had started to grow to around 5' tall, but I still felt small among my classmates, most of whom were 5' 3" at the time. There was one person who would make me feel tall, and that person was my mother. Although my so–called mother was only 4'11, the difference was noticeable, well, to me at least. As soon as I saw the height difference, I immediately capitalized on it; it was one of the best things to happen to me. "Hey mom!" I said, coming from the backyard. "Yes, sweetie?" my mom said from her bedroom, "Do you need something?" I walked into her room and stood next to her to show I was taller, "Looks like I'm the adult now!" I said, my smile as big as it's ever been before. "Are you now?" my mother said, chuckling. "Then I guess you can pay the bills, and do all my chores and go to my work while I go to school." My smile quickly faded; I did not understand that she was joking. I was angry, and stomped to my room. Lying in bed, I started to think, How can she make me do all that? She's a monster, I can't be her son. Then, as if a lightbulb went off in my head, I realized that she was not really my mother. If more proof is needed, I have more examples. My so–called mother had a very short temper for a very long time, and even now she gets angry somewhat quickly. I on the other hand, was very calm, and still am to this day. • 16. Descriptive Essay About My Mom Knock, knock... the sound on the door caught our attention. It was around 11 at night and all one could hear was chirping of crickets and the purr of my cat, Maya. I was sitting there in my mom's lap crying as loudly as possible. My mom, exhausted from all the daily chores was trying to get me to sleep. There was hair all over the place and I was crying and shouting at my mom. That's when we heard the knock. If it had been during the day, we would not be that anxious, but it was almost midnight. My mom and I gazed at each other in awe; there was a moment of silence. Then we heard a second knock. I had always been very fond and proud of my hair. No matter what others tell me, I would always go infront of my mirror andlook at my hair, and believe me, I had never been unsatisfied by it. I used to wonder what was wrong with these people. I had my hair just like my mother's; half curly and half straight. According to my mom, she got her curly hair from her father and the straight ones from her mom. When I looked in the mirror all I could see was the front part , which was soft and silky. What I could not see and others could see was the curly and rough hair on the hind part that standed perpendicular to my head. Whenever my parents tried to cut my hair I would run and hide somewhere until they gave up the idea. I still remember the time when they tried to cut my hair and I ran away and hid in the storage building for the whole day. I can understand my parents too. I was an energetic little girl. I would make a lot of mess around the house and get my clothes and hair dirty. Now when I live by myself I understand the amount of load my parents had. Things does change a lot when we grow older but as a stubborn little girl back then my only ultimate goal was to convince my parents to let me have a long hair. • 17. Descriptive Essay About My Mother When I was 14 years old, I realized that my mom and I are very similar. My mom and I have always been close. We laugh and joke with each other and can also have serious conversations with one another. The two of us both have dark coffee colored hair that's almost a hazelnut color in the sun. Our eyes are penny brown that can change to almost a caramel color. We look very similar and think very similar as well. We are literally almost the same person mentally. One afternoon, my mom and I were sitting next to one another when she began talking to me about how when she was in high school, about my age, she began to write poetry and keep a journal. She went on to tell me how her and her friends would take the journal whenever her or the other girls had inspiration for a poem. A little later she found the dusty, beat up, old spiral notebook and showed it to me. She began skimming through the wrinkled pages as they crunched between her fingertips. Her eyes lit up as she found one of her favorite poems. "I remember the day I wrote this, I remember every feeling I had when writing this down," She said with pure excitement. "Really? How can you remember something so minor as that after all these years?" "Hey! It wasn't THAT long ago! But I remember it because it was very special to me." "Makes sense I guess. Can I read it?" "I'll read it, Your face in the moonlight Our hearts once one But now we are nothing but broken glass Reflections of our past Footprints on my heart Lust in my soul For fear of what's to come But I know I am not the one..." "That's really cool!" "You like it? Well, why don't you keep it? Use it for some inspiration and maybe you could start writing your own as well." "Thank you! I'll take great care of it." "I know you will," My mom smiled as bright as the morning sun. Her face lit up with joy knowing that I may start to follow in her footsteps. To this day I still use that book to help me when writing song lyrics, it has really come in handy. My mom and I always joke that we have mental telepathy but neither one of us really believed it until one day when we were at the store. We were both there for separate things so we decided to split up and meet in a different area when we were done. I Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 20. Descriptive Essay About My Mother Most of my family photo albums are packed with pictures of me with my grandmother. There she is, bathing me as a newborn, and there again, holding me as a little girl, a huge grin lighting up my face. Her name is Maria Luisa Lishner de Albertis, and though everyone has always called her Lucha, to me she has always been Mami. For every moment of my life, she's been there: every single recital, ceremony, or event I've been a part of; all the home cooked meals she'd wake up early to cook for the family, even now that the memories of her favorite recipes have started to fade; and all those nights in high school when she'd hear me crying from her room, and come to sit at the foot of my bed and speak to me in her gruff yet so sweet voice. Mami has seen me at my worst and at my weakest, and not once has her quiet, under–appreciated love ever faltered. It is October 15th, her 66th birthday, and I'm sitting with her on the couch in our living room, accompanied by my mom, Mossy, her brother, Luis, and various aunts and uncles. She's a small woman, hardly reaching five feet, and she sits comfortably with her ankles crossed, playing Candy Crush Saga. I quickly learn as we start to speak something that probably should have been realized earlier: my grandmother is a woman of very few words. "Mami, what was your childhood like?" "Good," she responds promptly, swiping at her phone screen. "What about your siblings? I know you have many of them." "They were good too." I wait a little Get more content on HelpWriting.net
