Mine Descriptive Writing
It is mine. The golden sun that shines and kisses the tops of my shoulders. The wisps of white
clouds traveling within a baby blue sky. The gentle breeze that coils itself around my arms
providing relief from the warming sun. The sapphire sea and its serene waves rolling gently out to
shore onto the finely grained sand. It is all mine.
It is mine. Even the darkened sky when the sun cannot be seen. Even the blackened clouds that
blanket the sky. Even the blistering winds that pierce my skin with frozen shards. Even the dusky
sea and its roaring waves crashing against jagged–edged boulders, creating a thick coat of foam as
white as seagulls' feathers. It is all mine.
It is the sea. And all of it mine. I wear a single drop of the sapphire sea encased within a small,
marquise–shaped stone. I wear the foam from roaring waves gathered up into two rounded
diamonds. I wear the finely grained, yellow–gold sand that surrounds it all, and lifts everything up in
a cathedral mount. I wear my ring. Even now, it gingerly hugs my finger.
But it's not truly mine. The sea can never belong to me. And the ring doesn't belong to me. And the
ring no longer represents the love and bond between two people. And the ring has no purpose other
than to exist. Or at least that is what I tell myself. But I feel my gut twisting, my head pounding, and
my heart beat quickening, and I know that what I tell myself is wrong.
At least one day of every year, for the past couple of years, I've seemed to

to become accustomed to it. It is Five O' Clock in the afternoon. The sun is starting to drag itself

people make haste towards there destinations, rushing aggressively as if though it is a race. The

Lush, green trees are everywhere. Every house and small business seems to have one or two of
them. The car makes it's way down a small street, with old fashioned houses. The car comes to a
halt in front of a beautiful tan house. The house feels cozy. The tan painted planks of wood stack
up until they reach the charcoal shingles of the rooftop. Two enormous windows are on the front
of the house, with fine, white curtains that can be seen hanging from them on the other side. On
the left side of a house there is a large chimney, which gives the house a traditional look with it's
brown and red bricks. In the front yard of the house there is a smooth, clean concrete walkway to
the front door, surrounded by many bushes, and flowers; trimmed perfectly. This house is well
kept, and it stands out as a beauty in the neighborhood. The man walks up his paved walkway, and
into the house through a large white door, with four small windows on it, and a cross like pattern
beneath them. The doors gives of the look as if it is an entryway to heaven. The house is peaceful.
Only the birds chirping in the trees can be heard. And as the man enters his house excited children

The Class Everyone Dreads "Is EN100 a useful class to take?," this was a question I got asked by
a junior at my school. They were looking for classes to take next year; I told them that it was an
abundant amount of writing, but it was a great class to take. I went on to explain to them, that
taking it in high school would be easier and cheaper than in college. Beginning to explain to them
that it helped me grow as a writer and helped improve my English vocabulary, I realized it helped a
whole lot. Throughout the first semester of school, we had to write essays over four different topics.
These included informative, observation, reflection, and descriptive essays. I told them about my
experiences while writing with these certain types of essays. This is what I said: The first essay we
wrote was the descriptive writing style. I wrote an essay called, "Burger King's Crusty Castle". In
this essay, I wrote about the filth inside of the restaurant. Throughout this essay I got better with
describing every little detail in the story. I started off by saying, "The tea urns (used to keep all of
the freshly made tea in) smell like something had crawled in them and died" ("Burger King's
Crusty Castle"1). I eventually changed it to say, "The tea urns (used to keep all of the freshly
made tea in) smell like a skunk that has just been ran over" ("Burger King's Crusty Castle"11). I
added detail to the sentence to make it sound more fluent and to make you feel as if you could smell
it. It

I threw on my jacket, snow pants, boots, and hat as quickly as I could, preparing for the journey
from my cozy home into the sub zero weather. "Don't forget your scarf, sweetie!" my mom yelled
to me as I struggled to open the front door while holding a sled in one hand and a pair of gloves in
the other. Successfully turning the lock and pushing the handle, my eyes caught sight of a scene
that I've only dreamed of: a blanket of white covered everything I could lay my eyes on. Houses,
cars, mailboxes, and even fire hydrants were coated in a sea of bright flurries that reflected the
sun. Pulling the hand warmers out of my coat pocket, I tore off the wrapper, shook them, and
stuck them inside my gloves as I slid them on and began to make my way down, what I thought
was our driveway, towards the sidewalk with the dog sled dragging alongside my footsteps
collecting the top layer of the powdery white flakes as the loud crunching of snow being packed
down with every step I took filled my ears. Finally I reached a long narrow ice kissed sidewalk,
the once cold, wet burdensome boots I had on become as light as a feather as I skated along the
frozen pathway. A treacherous climb up the long, steep staircase covered in slush leading to the top
of the sled hill laid before me. Unfortunately this was the only way up, so I began my hike, only to
be disturbed by the cool chilly winds. At last,...show more content...
My legs become weak from walking up so many stairs and struggling to maneuver through the dense

my face. So I quickly got up grabbed the sled, wiped away the snot dripping from my nose and

How to Write a Descriptive Essay
More than many other types of essays, descriptive essays strive to create a deeply involved and
vivid experience for the reader. Great descriptive essays achieve this affect not through facts and
statistics but by using detailed observations and descriptions.
What do you want to describe?
As you get started on your descriptive essay, it's important for you to identify exactly what you
want to describe. Often, a descriptive essay will focus on portraying one of the following: a person a
place a memory an experience an object
Ultimately, whatever you can perceive or experience can be the focus of your descriptive writing.

Descriptive Essay Drawing
DrawingDrawing is a good hobby to have, you can spend hours drawing a piece and be so into it
you wouldn't realize how fast time has passed. It's also a good way to release stress, well in my
opinion it is, it has helped me a lot when I am really bored or just have so much problems, I just
put my headphones in and boom, I can go hours trying my best to come up with the most perfect
portrait or just any simple drawing in mind. Only problem I have is that I could just never get the
faces of people right that is one of my flaws, but a flaw that one day I shall surpass and be good at
it with practice of course. I have had a couple of people in my life who I have seen since little that
can draw really good and my goal is to one day catch up to them, which will take lots and lots of
practice, but will be worth it at the end. Going far as back as I can remember I have always been
fascinated with grabbing a pencil or anything I can get a hold of and start to doodle anywhere
which got me into trouble at first, but as time passed my mom would buy me notebooks and lots
of them to doodle the hours away on. I can remember spending all day just drawing and painting
no matter what it was it would go on a paper if it went from drawing me and my mom in a big
house, to just drawing houses and buildings, it would all amuse me. My mom was always there to
help me with supplies since I would go through notebooks really fast, and for a single mom with a
low income job, she

It was a seemingly beautiful day as I drove on a joy ride in my bright blue sports car, with the
wind in my hair. This is an everyday activity for me. My friends would mock me saying, "You
spend more money on gas than you make working." I laughed to myself at the thought of jokes
amongst my friends. That happiness was soon halted. As I continued driving, I saw a car coming
rapidly around the curve. The car did not show any signs of slowing down as it headed towards the
intersection. The light turned yellow and then quickly red. Another object caught my eye that made
me fear what was going to happen next. A young couple started crossing the street wearing fancy
attire. The first thought that came to mind was, 'they are...show more content...
One of the police officers came up to me introduced himself, asked me my name and started, "Have
you ever seen this driver before? On the road or around town?" I quickly responded, "No, I have not
officer." He continued, "I learned from the call back to the station that the driver, David Chrisenger,
is considered the town drunk and does not currently have a valid license due to drinking and
driving". He asked me some questions and asked me to fill out an incident report. Still shaken up by
the whole incident I gladly accepted. The officer ended our conversation. "Thank you so much for
your time, Kevin. We really appreciate it."
The only thought running through my head on my way home was how much I had not
appreciated my wife and children. To witness something of that nature makes one conscientious
about what you have and how quickly it could vanish. I vowed after that day to speak out against
drinking and driving and the terrible outcomes that can transpire from something that some do
not view as a "big deal". It is apparent that better ways have to be found for getting drunk drivers off
the road. I encourage anyone to be responsible for their lives and others by agreeing to never drink
and drive again, and to also aid your family and friends in doing so. Have a designated driver each
night or call a cab. Everyone is capable of saving a

The unexpected "Why does college have to be so hard, I literally put all my time and effort on
my assignment for English but Mrs. Darling gave me a fifty percent! Can you believe a fifty
percent" said Marlin. "Well I don't know maybe you didn't try hard enough marlin you have been
going to parties for the last couple of weeks your lucky she gave you a fifty I would have given you
a zero" "ughh shut up smarty–pants I tried a lot even though I literally did it yesterday when I got
back from Zach's party why didn't you go he is your boyfriend after all? "Said marlin concerned
"Well unlike you marlin I had homework that needed my attention Zach understands that school
comes before parties that's why he's the best boyfriend ever" I blushed as those words came out
of my mouth; "You're lucky I wish I had a boyfriend like Zach" said marlin. I paused as then as I
started to flashback to senior year when marlin first told me that she had a crush on Zach but then
I had told her that I was dating Zach. I felt bad because me as a friend I should have known but
when it came to boy's marlin had a crush on everyone I just didn't think she would have a crush
on Zach. Zach was the popular boy in school but he was also the bad boy I guess that's why every
girl liked him, but he changed when I meet him he became a sweet heart and a gentleman. "Hello...
are you okay" said marlin "Oh I'm sorry I zoned out I will catch you in class I have to go
somewhere" I said almost tripping over my own

  • 7. Descriptive Essay Descriptive Essay It was a seemingly beautiful day as I drove on a joy ride in my bright blue sports car, with the wind in my hair. This is an everyday activity for me. My friends would mock me saying, "You spend more money on gas than you make working." I laughed to myself at the thought of jokes amongst my friends. That happiness was soon halted. He asked me some questions and asked me to fill out an incident report. Still shaken up by the whole incident I gladly accepted. The officer ended our conversation. "Thank you so much for your time, Kevin. We really appreciate it." The only thought running through my head on my way home was how much I had not appreciated my wife and children. I encourage anyone to be responsible for their lives and others by agreeing to never drink and drive again, and to also aid your family and friends in doing so. Have a designated driver each night or call a cab. Everyone is capable of saving a Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I paused as then as I started to flashback to senior year when marlin first told me that she had a crush on Zach but then I had told her that I was dating Zach. I felt bad because me as a friend I should have known but when it came to boy's marlin had a crush on everyone I just didn't think she would have a crush on Zach.
