This is presentation of basic for anaesthesia technician, about how to check anaesthesia machine before start the procedure. What is the mandatory steps to perform.

2.  Checking each component of anaesthesia
machine for appropriate functioning prior to
use is essential to ensure patient safety.
 Machine check is mandatory for daily and after
every case.
 Everyday Morning we must do full test.
 After every procedure we must do circuit leak
test.

4.  Ensure the Power supply is connected.
 Check Main Gas supply is properly connected.
 Perform Tug Test

5.  On Machine Power switch.
 Ensure electric indicator is green.

6.  After on the machine go to checkout.
 Click to Start Full Test, this method is perform in latest machines.

7.  This is first step of full test vent and gas.

8.  In this steps we check the ventilator
functionality.
 Set bag/vent switch to vent, open the circuit.
 Set ACGO to circle and select start.
 Test will be start automatically.

9.  In this step we check the circuit leak.
 Select bag/vent switch to bag.
 Set APL Valve between 30 to 70.
 Occlude the Circuit wye Piece.

10.  This is Oxygen sensor calibration.

11.  After Full Test completed. We need some
manual check and mandatory steps perform.
 Check alternate O2 control is functional.
 Press the button On Open nob check bobin is
working

12.  Checking of integrated suction.
 Very important part of the anaesthesia.
 On suction nob max and checking suction
pressure is good.

13.  Open the cylinder and check the pressure of oxygen
minimum is 70 and full cylinder pressure is 137 bar.
 Nitrous Cylinder minimum pressure is 50 bar.
 If Cylinder Pressure is less than minimum pressure
change the cylinder

14. Monitoring
Check All
Monitoring
equipment's is
Functional and
connected.

15.  Check Vaporizers are filled.
 Check vaporizer are fitted on the back bar.
 Open dial flow and ensure that safety system is
working.

16. Ambu Bag
• Check Peads and
Adult Ambu bag
available in the
OR working
condition.
