3. River Ganga
The River Ganga is nearly about
1557 miles long and has the basin
about 200 – 400 miles. It originates
from Gaumukh passes through Uttar
Pradesh , Bihar and West Bengal and
ends in Bay Of Bengal.

5. River Yamuna
Originates from Yamunotri Glacier,
6387 meters above main sea level, at
the Banderpoonch peak in the
Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand.
The river flows 1367 km from here to
confluence with river Ganga at
Allahabad.

7. River Brahmaputra
It originates in the Mansarovar Lake,
also the source of Indus and the
Sutlej. It is longer than Indus, and
flows eastward, parallel to Himalayas.

The Narmada River is a total of 1,289
km (801 mi) long. Only the Narmada,
Tapi, and Mahi runs from east to
west, of the major rivers of India.
