HOW DOES YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT REPRESENT
PARTICULAR SOCIAL GROUPS?
Differences;
• Much more violent and psychopathic.
• Luke's mother was much more
abusive.
• Presented in white occasionally
whereas Luke is presented in dark
colours.
Similarities;
• Both whit and middle class.
• Both a jealousy and psychological
issues.
• Both presented as dark characters and
both shown as solitary
• Both violent towards sister
MAIN CHARACTER (KIDNAPPER)
Luke Kevin (from we need to talk about Kevin)
Differences;
• Eva made to look like the victim and
portrayed as weak.
• The mother from our opening sequence
is shown as dark and violent on screen.
• The mother’s face is not seen adding to
the mystery.
Similarities;
• Both white and middle class
housewives and live in comfortable
households.
• Both have a conflict with their son
• Both give the appearance of a tranquil
and perfect family life.
THE MOTHER
The Mother Eva Khatchadourian
Differences;
• Evie is innocent party whereas Amy
is seeking revenge.
• Both missing for different reasons,
Evie; jealous brother, Amy is missing
on purpose.
Similarities;
• Both from a middle class back-ground.
• Both given the impression of a perfect
family life.
• Both are the focal point for the
storyline

• The policeman from the opening
sequence is just completing his job
whereas will has hidden the fact he
accidently shot his co-worker and I
plagued by guilt,.
• Will has mental illness.

• Both looking to uphold the law.
