1. Why Possums Live in Trees!

2. Long, long ago in the Dreamtime there was a
possum………
Possum was always in a hurry. At night when Possum
was awake, all of the other animals were asleep.

3. At night, Possum liked climbing on the
branches of his tree.

4. Possum lived in a berry tree. As he moved around the
branches, the berries fell on the animals underneath.
Those animals were so angry that they chased Possum
up his tree and he did not come down.

5. He quite liked it up there because it was cool and
comfy. He was also away from danger. Possum did
not like walking on the hot dirt.

6. He did not need to go down during the day for food
because he lived in a berry tree.

7. The animals never forgave him. He had plenty of food
in the tree.
And ever since this time, possums have lived happily
in trees.
