Why Schools Should Have Music In Schools
Music is an amazing thing. Many people can make music in many different ways and it is
truly amazing. I think every school should have a music program because it helps so many
students with many different issues. For example, it helps kids of all ages who are not athletic.
Several students who attend high school do not do sports or any kind of athletic activities. All of
these non–athletes turn to band and/or choir. Not only does it help them be involved in an
extracurricular, it also helps the band and choir out because that is one more voice or instrument
that can make the band/choir sound bigger and better.
Music in schools also allows students to show their talents. Playing an instrument and
singing in the choir allows those

Teachers Should Not Be Armed In Schools
"I'd Feel More Comfortable knowing teachers aren't armed" – Ben Carson People feeling that guns will make schools safer are usually on that side
because most are afraid of being a victim of a school shooting, when most don't realise that if there is a person in the class already that is armed there
will be a more chance of being shot if the teacher has problems after they were "trained" .Teachers being armed at school might be a good thing for
people and bad for some others that really just don't like guns at all. According to The New York Post, the Majority of people 82% wouldn't feel like a
teacher having a gun would be necessary. The other 18% feel like it is needed for a less chance of a school shooter to take out people. Guns should be
held away from teachers and there are many people that can agree with my position. If teachers were to be armed with guns, the students wouldn't
really be paying attention to what the teacher is trying to teach, but mostly focus on what if the teacher pulls out ... Show more content on

If the teacher is trying to get the students attention and like a common thing that happens in school, students not paying attention, the teacher might
pull the gun out and face it towards the students if they feel like it would make them get their attention much easier. They may seem like they aren't
going to do something like that, but like they say you don't know anybody around you but yourself. Seems like teachers nowadays can barely handle a
class of more than 30 students, what is going to make the people think also knowing that they have to secure and protect them all with the gun on them
too. Why would anyone first think that teacher should keep a gun with them at all times in class while their job is only to teach and nothing else,
putting a weapon on them just doesn't seem

Should School Lunches Be Allowed In Schools
In Schools all over the state, students complain about the quality of school lunches. As a result, many schools have decided to let fast food
restaurants like Taco Bell, McDonalds, and Pizza hut into their school's cafeteria. This was an extremely bad idea. We all know teenagers love fast
food. Whether it's the crispy salty french fries from McDonalds or the Cheesy pizza from Pizza hut, but is this food healthy? I would disagree.
Jill CorLeone; a registered dietitian and health coach, with a little over fifteen years of experience disagrees as well. "The teen years are a period of
rapid growth and development. In fact, teenagers need more calories during this period than they'll ever need in their lives". Teenagers need these

Should School Be Longer
Should school years be longer? No, they shouldn't and there are many reasons for this. Some are the following: it doesn't have links to school
improvements, would cost more, won't fix problems, and disrupts family life. School is long enough, or well most people think so, and it doesn't
help in scores improving. There are lots of people out there who say yes it does, but there is research that shows that it doesn't. Paul von Hippel, a
sociologist at Ohio State University found that, over a full year, math and reading test scores improved about the same amount for children in
year–round schools as they did for students whose schools followed a traditional nine–month calendar. He himself said the following, "We found that

Some families already have plans for as soon as they get out and on that exact day too. So if the year was longer then they wouldn't be able to go
there at the time that they always do, or they would miss school cause of it. Lots of kids already miss the last day or so of school, I don't think that the
teachers or school board would be too happy about even more kids missing school. It would just mess up everyones routine and fun, and they would
loose time to spend with their fmaily or friends because they have to spend it at school. There are also lots of people who think that it is just an
absolutely horrible idea. Anthony Esolen, a professor of English literature and Western civilization, and author of How to Destroy the Imagination of
Your Child, calls year–round schooling an "unimaginably horrible idea." He said, "If I've got a guy that I've hired to do plumbing, and my pipes
still leak, I'm not going to say, 'Oh, maybe I should pay him twice as much and have him work twice as long,'" Esolen said. It doesn't help any what
so ever. Overall I think that there are more people who would agree that school should not be made longer. It doesn't help kids and it just creates chaos

Should Schools Offer Unhealthy
There are many reasons why people think that school should offer both healthy and unhealthy foods/drinks. These are my reasons they should offer
both. More kids will be satisfied; there will be more options, kids can have a more significant break from the same foods at home.
There will more than likely be an increase in the number of satisfied kids if they add some of both healthy and unhealthy because they do not have to
choose one or another. Kids will probably want to buy more food from school if there is both. A lot more kids will not ask their parents to make their
lunch because they will want to buy lunch from school.
Having both healthy and unhealthy choices will begin to summon a lot more options. The kids will have a lot less

Junk food, sodas, and fries are the foods that are causing childhood obesity and bad–eating habits. Schools provide easy availability to unhealthy snacks
from vending machines and cafeteria, which are causing teenagers to have zero nutrition in their body. School lunches are having a negative effect on
their eating habits and their lifestyle. Schools should put in healthy products to reduce childhood obesity, reduce bad eating habits, and promote healthy
lifestyle.
Many schools around the nation are feeding unhealthy food products to children, such as fries, sodas, sweets from vending machines. It is shown that,

For example, "In 2009, the Institute of Medicine, now named the National Academy of Medicine, updated its recommended nutrition requirements for

products to teenagers. Florida started a program called, "Fresh–2–U that encourages students to try 20 different fresh fruits and vegetables during the
school year" (Schools Should Play a Role in Fighting Childhood Obesity). Also Fresh–2–U is improving school lunches and adding healthy snacks to
vending machines. Many parents believe that school lunches and vending machine snacks are causing nutrition deficiency and obesity. A movement is
needed to change the school lunches and replace school lunches with healthy sandwiches and fruits. Children need to consume their daily nutrition and
changing school lunches will decrease the possibility of any health issues. Teenagers will feel more confident about themselves and not feel
self–conscious all the time. Promoting healthy lifestyle not only in a few states, but everywhere will inspire teenagers to be

Should School Uniforms Be Allowed In Schools?
Have you ever had to wear a school uniform? School uniforms are plain and they have no personality. Who would want to wear something so plane?
School uniforms should not be allowed in schools because they have no individuality, school uniforms can increase bullying, and finally they are so
expensive. My first reason is that school uniforms are way too expensive. who would someone want to by something that is way over their budget
when all they have to do is let the kids choose what they want for many things and still be less than a school uniform. Why would someone want their
kid to look more grown up then they are. Why would the parents to allow their children to be in a passion where they would have to wear a school
uniform. The student I ber hate the school uniforms because they are so expensive and they are so crazy.
My second reason is that students need to have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you wear a school uniform students just might get bullied by a lot of other students from other public schools. Students might get bullied or the
student that go bullied might bully others. Like at my old school all the other students would always bully others. A lot of the students there were
mean because they got yelled at alot at home and because there parents would bring them down alot so then the next day at school they would bring
down the other children. I chose this as my opinion essay because I don't like school uniforms because they are pointless and they are just something
that the students wear to get humiliated is what I think. So maybe the student want to make there own choices not to be made to put on a stupid
costume and have to wash and dry it and have to wear it every day. I think that all these reasons will make you stop and think for a minute that maybe
your kid is not ok with leaving their own friends to go to a lame school very day.that makes students wear something really dumb every

Should Lunches Be Allowed In Schools
School lunches are different in different schools, the meals and the sides. Obesity in the population has grown a lot in America. Schools giving out
unhealthy foods to children is making the problem even worse. Parents think that 'restricting' their kids from eating too much is good, but is their child
getting the correct calories to focus on schoolwork and get through the rest of the day? On average, school lunches give 700–830 calories a
serving."Some kids are saying they are hungry and their lunch isn't filling them up." (citation) A child needs 2,000 calories to get through their day.
Schools' think the less the calories, the less the obesity chances, the schools strategy is causing more harm than good. The students complain about how
they are still hungry after lunch. Maybe giving students more calories to get on through the day is not such a bad idea. Elementary through high school
students complain about how poorly made the food is and how they are still hungry after lunch. "Kids get seconds if they are still hungry, but they
choose unhealthy selections"(citation) Schools are basically starving students by not giving them enough protein and nutrition. Schools in America
need to step up their game. They all need more fruits and vegetables in their school lunch lines. They should gradually add more and more healthy

Should Schools Be Allowed In Schools Research
I think that schools and school districts should have the right to monitor what students do online – but only on district–owned devices. The first article,
Do schools have the right to monitor students' online activity?, gives two opposing opinions on the issue. The second article, Should Schools
Monitoring Students' Social Media Accounts?, gives the opinion of the author and some context of a district where that district monitors the accounts
of students. Schools should be allowed to monitor devices and accounts that they own because they bought the devices/created the accounts and are
allowing students to use it for educational purposes. Monitoring online activities is intruding into privacy, but using the district's devices means
forfeiting that right. Aschool does not have the right to monitor a device they do not own because that is the child's/parents' device, and doing so is
an invasion of privacy. The school is mostly in a position to uphold public safety, but parents should be in charge of students life away from school. If

Do you think cursive should be taught in school? Schools should not teach cursive, instead they should teach kids how to sign their name and then
move to another topic. Almost everything is done on computers now and handwriting is dying out. Even when people do use handwriting now most
print instead of write cursive. Common core standards which is what most schools use isn't even teaching cursive any more. Most schools use
technology over pen and paper now. Even other things like math, social studies, and other classes are taught online. When they aren't taught online
most students don't even use cursive anyway. Most people who know how to use cursive don't even use it. Instead they would just send emails and
don't send letters with almost all of their important documents online. Furthermore, with the practice typing in schools kids can also prepare for the

Should Schools Be Paid In Public Schools?
Introduction Paragraph
In countries around the world, people are debating whether they should keep athletics in public schools, or ban them. Studies have shown that schools
would be better off without sports. Therefore, schools should not have sports to save money, make students' education a priority, and adapt to their new
environment.
Body Paragraph #1
As many schools know, districts spend money on unnecessary items when they should be using the funds for education. In "Yes! It Is Time To Scale
Back, Amanda Ripley states that "New bleachers can cost half a million dollars" (11). "When teachers–coaches travel to a game schools have to hire
substitutes", "They also have to buy for the buses, for the team, the band, and the cheerleaders"

Should Sports Be Obligatory At School?
Should sport be obligatory at school?
There is an undeniable truth that school is a place to study academic subjects, but some people think that sports should be included in the curriculum.
Deputy Prime of Malaysia, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin suggested that the education need to be changed to enhance the role of sports (qtd. In Skitzo). It
helps students both good at academics and sports. However, some people disagree with this idea. The aim of this paper is to discuss this topic in the
next section to find out how sports influence on students and whether it should be obligatory at school Today, having a healthy life requires each person

At the same time, the school must ensure the safety of students as they participate sport and limit minimum accident by sports. Finally, school should
reorganize the schedule so that students have time for academic subjects as well as playing sports
In my opinion, sports should be obligatory at school. As you can see, the advantages of sports outweigh its disadvantages. Sports not only help students
improve their physical activity but also help them enhance their internal aspect and mental. Moreover, if students play sports at school, their brain will
process faster. Therefore, they have a good result in the academic at school.
In conclusion, the school needs to enhance the role of sports. Students need to practice sport 60 minutes a day. Nowadays many sports are taught at the
school. On one hand, a sport has drawbacks such as being time–consuming to practice, the probability to have accident and injustice. On the one other
hand, the sport has a lot of benefits such as helping students healthy, reduce stress and increase teamwork skill. To sum up, the advantages outweigh its
disadvantages, so sport should be obligatory at

Every year district spends thousands of bucks on equipment for kids who want to play when they could be spending ages on homework. According to

Why School Should Be A School
There are many arguments as to why children should stay in school. I think education is important to any child's life. Education is what builds a
person up and help them make something of their self , and from a nobody to a somebody. Education is the key to any door you are trying to open.
I wouldn't consider anybody to drop out of school. I know school can be hard at times, but its only hard because the teachers are trying to make you
stronger. Education to me is basically what you need to better yourself in life. Think about this, how many people know a person that has an
education has a good career ? There are a lot of people with an education that has a career.
Now do you think there are the same amount of people without an education with a career. Nine times out of ten a business is going for the person
with a high school diploma. For example there are 3 people in line to get this job at Barnes and Noble. Two of these people graduated high school
and has a good resume. The other person dropped out in the 12th grade and doesn't have a resume to give. There are two positions open, now who
do you think is going to get the job. The two people with a high school diploma and a good resume is going to get the job. Now a days you just can fill
out an application and expect to get the job. Even places like McDonald's are looking for high school graduates and college graduates.

Since the bond between students and teachers is stronger and students feel more safe and comfortable in their environment, then they will be more

age–appropriate academics. Most importantly, they actually enjoy school, doing their coursework, and seeing their friends. I'm convinced that
responsive classroom is an educational approach that benefits teachers, students, and parents by creating an inclusive atmosphere in which children can
learn and thrive"(Badalaty). From Gina Badalaty's experience, it is easy to see that the teaching approach in which schools use to promote learning is
benefiting children in many ways. Students with dyslexia and dyscalculia also can benefit immensely from the responsive teaching approach. Dyslexic
students can benefit from active teaching since the teacher presents first and then explains what was just presented. With this students with dyslexia
have more time to organize, prioritize and filter new information (Stevens). Students with dyscalculia can really benefit from the student practice,
instructor guided part of responsive teaching. Here students with dyscalculia can use manipulatives, have more space to write out problems and even
be able to talk out the problem (Morin). Students with ADHD can also benefit from this learning style. Teachers that have students with ADHD can

Johnson Foundation and the Harvard School of Public Health, 20 percent of parents of students from kindergarten through fifth grade told us that their
child gets 15 minutes or less to eat. School lunches should be longer because students feel rushed to eat and having too little time to eat leads to
unhealthy choices. The first reason school lunches should be longer is because several students feel rushed to eat. Deborah Taylor, director of the
Shawnee School Nutrition Services in Oklahoma, told USA Today that when people look back on the childhood obesity epidemic, they may blame the
way kids rushed through meals, both at school and at home. "It takes more time to chew a whole apple than applesauce," Helen Phillips, president of
the School Nutrition Association, told USA Today. "Eating an entrГ©e salad takes longer than eating a cheeseburger or chicken nuggets, because of the

With less than 20 minutes to eat the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics found students ate 13 percent less of their main entree and 12
percent less of their vegetables. They drank 10 percent less milk, too, compared with students who had 25 minutes or more to eat. Many children,
especially those from low–income families, rely on school meals for up to half their daily energy intake, so it is essential that we give students a
sufficient amount of time to eat their lunches," Juliana Cohen, Rimm's colleague at Harvard and the study's lead author, said in a statement. The U.S.
government recommends that children have a minimum of 20 minutes to actually eat their lunch. However, many nutrition experts say even this is not
enough for children to properly eat and digest their food before heading back to

Should Graffiti Be Taught In Schools And Should Schools Be...
Although many schools don't do anything about graffiti, in other people's opinion, it should be banned. Doing this can be appealing for many kids.
Graffiti is just many artists that couldn't get into an amazing art school, so they have other people look at their work, on the old building, trains,
schools, and even the humongous dumpsters. Accordingly, graffiti is atrocious, who wants to see someone else artwork on theirschool? Kids will start
thinking that this is the right thing to do when it is not. People look at graffiti everywhere in life, and they don't want their kids to be looking at is
when they go to school. It is very distracting to the human eye too. This can and will teach others to start doing this, so then when students

Should Technology Be Used In Schools?
Schools all over the nation are looking to replace their textbooks with computers, but they are all wondering if it is a good idea. This has sparked
controversy throughout the states because some schools want to take the plunge, however others are not so eager to let go of old teaching methods,
maybe because they would have to rewrite their entire curriculum, which could take months to completely take over the old one. Yet still the sources
say that because the amount of positive aspects of technology in schools outweighs the negative ones, new technology should be employed in an
educational setting. The majority of the sources have concluded that technology is beneficial to students, and should be introduced in schools. Source

In her essay Source C suggests that, "...now machines automate the production of attention–consuming information which takes our time." What she
really means by this quote is we are biting off more than we can chew. We are constantly surrounded by an influx of information that is infinitely
changing but we are not taking any time to process this information, and because all of this is happening so rapidly we no longer think about the
long term. We submerge ourselves in all of the latest news that is happening right now, we "live in the moment" and "live each day as if it were our
last," we live as though "The future is now" because we don't like to think about what will happen in the times ahead, we only care about what is
happening now, in Source C's words, " Everyone knows about the big problems, but their behavior focuses on the here and now..." Source C also
insists that this over–stimulation affects children just as much as it does adults. Children have all these interactive toys that create sounds and actions
for them, they no longer have to use their imaginations to create storylines for their toys. The fact that kids don't use their imaginations anymore
messes with their ability to process information for themselves, they will grow up expecting that any instruction they may need will be given to them,
and when they finally do need to use their

Should Laptops Be Allowed In Schools
Laptops and computers have always made learning easier but will they make learning easier for students in school? Some schools are now using
laptops instead of textbooks for their students. Schools should be using laptops instead of textbooks because laptops have many benefits over using
textbooks. Laptops and computers are being used for students in school to make learning easier. Students may now carry Laptops instead of heavy
textbooks. There are much cheaper options now than before. Since 2011 Google has offered small Laptops called chromebooks that cost much less
than a traditional Laptop. The chromebooks also offer software from Google that can be used for school work. Students can write docs or make slides
for a presentation and it is all at no cost. Other Laptops may be required to purchase the software or purchase a license just to use the software. In 2016
researcher Mark Warschauer reported that students participating in K–12 one to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Laptops can cost money and the schools would have to pay. Laptops at retail price could cost about $300. If a Laptop breaks the school would have to
pay to repair it and the school would also have to get a replaced for the student. Textbooks are much more durable and may outlast a traditional
Laptop. A Laptop may also be used by a student to cheat on homework or on a quiz. This can lead to many problems because if the student has
access to all the answers he or she will not learn. They will just look up everything on the Laptop. This can all be prevented by monitoring what the
student searches and how long they are on a website for. The school could also limit or block what websites the students can access. This would
prevent a student getting on or downloading inappropriate files from the internet. Students should have Laptops at school but they should be limited.
They should only be able to get on the things that they would use for homework or for school

Schools: Should Art Be Taught In Schools
Arts in School
Art is a way to express yourself and be different, so why does the schools keep cutting the funds? Every year schools all over America are either
dropping all of the art classes or lowering their budget. Arts are vital for a student to give some stress release during the school day. Without arts
some kids feel out of place and frustrated, not everyone is good at common core. Everyone should feel like they're good at something, we need to let our
school councils know that this is where we stand. "Art can be studied and done at home. Art goes first because things like math, science, and English
really are necessary for successful careers" (Should Art Be Taught in Schools?). Not every kid has the at home funds to be... Show more content on

Not everyone is cut out for school everyone is different. Kids with ADD and ADHD have a huge problem with this because they can't focus. I feel
as though some students who enjoy the arts do the same thing, they think about their coral song because its what they like to do, its not a crime,
everyone has their strengths. What's going to happen for the kids who only come to school for art after art is dropped? They will probably just
have to deal with it and just go to school like everyone else and now they'll actually get their life on track. So many studies have been shown to
show that students who were involved in any art form had high dreams and started doing better in school. If art is dropped school will become that
much harder to try and go to, those art classes are there for an easy class to try and calm you from all of those core classes. Art is so vital to a
student's peace of mind and should not be forgotten about. If everyone who feels the same as me and knows there school district is thinking about
dropping arts would kindly email the school council about needing art in school this problem would cease to

Schools Should Be Paid
The boy walks up to the main office door. He searches for where usually a list of clubs is posted on the wall around the perimeter of the double
doors. He approaches the front desks where they all stand in a line. He politely asks the secretary where the sign ups are. The secretary stares at the
boy like he has lost it. She blurts out, all of a sudden, "Are you crazy?! We cut all extracurricular activities and themusic and art programs to have
enough money to fund all the sports. Is that not what you kids want?" The boy mortified walks out; this is the reality. Schools are funding sports more
than they do on extracurricular activities, such as music and art programs. I believe schools should fund competitive sports and other extracurricular
programs equally. Some may argue that sports are more popular and bring schools more money so they deserve more funding, though this is not true.

They argue that competitive sports are more important and should be given more money too. Critics say that it is more popular, in high school, and
brings school more money, and in return deserves more funding. Again, Heymont references, "Sports are more superior to other programs...[in that]
they are more popular." Though this is true, is popularity the main importance? What is important is the student's success from the activities.
Furthermore, on "Fine Arts vs. Sports: The Battle of the Budgets", it reads "The fine arts have been proven to strengthen a student's math, reading,
critical thinking, and verbal skills. Involvement in fine arts programs can improve motivation, concentration, confidence, and teamwork." This further
shows the success of other programs, and how greatly it can impact the students' lives just like sports do. What critics say is that money and popularity
is more important than what the students take from each

School Funding Should Not Be Cut
I believe that education is essential to America's future generations and how well we can compete with the rest of the world in diverse fields, therefore
school funding should not be cut. The budget for the Department of Education has been reduced and cut in many ways. Some solutions the government
thought they had found, such as the No Child Left Behind Act, turned out to increase the budget, rather than reduce it. The cutting of teachers' unions
and reduction of class sizes have also been suggested to reduce budget. Although some of these sound easy and appealing, they won't necessarily help
reduce the Department of Education's spending. The federal government has attempted to slice into the Department of Education's budget since it was
established in 1979. The department was originally founded in 1867, but soon became demoted since the government was afraid it would have too
much power. "In the 1860s, a budget of $15,000 and four employees handled education fact–finding. By 1965, the Office of Education had more than
2,100 employees and a budget of $1.5 billion. As of mid–2010, the Department has nearly 4,300 employees and a budget of about $60 billion" (An
overview of the U.S. Department of Education, 2010). To provide some comparable insight, in 2013 the Department of Defense's budget of $663.8
billion (U.S. Department of Defense, 2009). Many programs and acts have been put into place to try to decrease the budget for the department. One
that seemed to be the answer

Should School Lunches Be Allowed In Schools
The clock reads 11:39, in a few seconds the most important bell of the day will ring––the lunch bell. This bell sends students rushing to the cafeteria;
some students will sit quietly at a table unpacking their lunch from home, others will wait in line to receive a lunch provided by the school. Everyday
across America more than 31 million school lunches are served. The majority of these lunches fall under the regulations of the National School Lunch
Program. The program, funded and regulated by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), has raised many questions among American
citizens. One very important question is whether or not the government should be allowed to regulate/ban certain foods in the nation's school system.
The government, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The government, is not infringing upon any constitutional right with its school lunch program. Students, teachers, and staff who are part of a school
system can still choose to bring their lunch or food with them from home. They can choose to pack a lunch that is far from meeting federal guidelines
if they please. The government is not taking away an individual's right to choose what they eat and that is how their role in school food choices
remains an ethical one. They are simply saying, "if you make the choice to eat a school lunch that falls under the guidelines of this program, it will not
contain certain items."
Some individuals protest the government's involvement in school lunches because as taxpayers, they help to fund the school. Taxpayer money goes
towards not only the building, supplies and books, but also a school's lunch program. Taxpayers, understandably, have become upset with the
regulations surrounding food choices in schools. However, taxpayers also help pay for health insurance for those who either do not have it or cannot

Why School Should Be A School
Introduction Throughout this course I learned many things about what it takes to be a school leader. In order to be a school leader one must possess
certain qualities and understand how a school functions and the people that help run the school. Whether these people are staff members or a member
of the community, they all help in making the school what it is. From, supporting the schools academic programs, all the way to cheering for the
schools varsity football team. The school is part of the community and the principal is an integral part of the whole structure. This led me to a very
important realization. To run a school effectively and have the respect of the community, the principal must have integrity, treat people fairly, and most
importantly they should have strong ethics.
Vision
All schools must have a vision and a mission statement. Words that can be seen in a schools office or hallways that tell people what this school is
all about. How the school views learning and how it plans to go about it. The mission should also let people know that the school is a safe
environment and that the students will be safe in the school. I would make sure that all stakeholders in the community and the parents that come into
the school saw the vision that I have for the school. My vision for a wonderful school is to create a school for the 21st century. I would take the all or
none approach to this. By this I mean that I would have the latest technology and be completely green.

Should School Lunches Be Served?
For years, it has been a heated debate of what should be served in a school lunch. Healthy food is recommended, but there is a problem with serving
healthy food. The students throw away most of the fruits and veggies. The health institute has to give the students the complete nutritious meal because
some students are not well–fed at home. It's required for them to give a balanced meal at school. The argument is not to cancel school lunches, but
rather to serve better tasting food that'll be appealing to the students. Instead of making the students throw away the healthy food, why not serve tasty
food that's also healthy? If I were to give an example, I would say cheeseburger. Even the pizza schools serve are extra ... Show more content on

It was not unhealthy or overly healthy it was a balanced meal you'll probably see at home. I ate it with no complaint. The National school lunch
program can get pretty annoying with the acts they pass out for health regulations. The reduce the lunch's price or even make it free for the hungry
students who can't afford a quality meal at home. Obviously if you're not eating quality food at home the school lunch programs have to feed you
healthy food to keep you developing. If they serve you bad food filled with preservative products that can mess you up. It can give you diseases
such as Type 2 Diabetes, Cancer, and possibly a Heart Attack. Make healthy cheeseburgers with less oil and fat. The bread shouldn't be a hundred
percent grain. Nobody likes grain bread, and if you want to disguise the healthy food, then don't make it look too healthy. For the beverage I totally
agree that all schools should serve dairy such as milk. That would keep the students bones strong and growing. I am against serving soda, maybe only
one day of the week like I listed above. Soda causes stunted growth and tooth decay. It can be dangerous for the students. before the 2010 act schools
used to sell baked chips. That is not really bad even though it's not a hundred percent healthy, but it is somewhat better than actual chips students buy at

Should School Sports Be Removed In Schools?
Most Arizona schools have students with low grades that say they are stressed because of school sports. Therefore, school sports should be removed
to increase the academic level of America, lower costs for schools, and decrease the amount of late work.
Most schools in Arizona have students with lower grades because of school sports. American schools lag behind in education, with more than 20 other
nations with better high school graduation rates (Ripley 10). "Sports are embedded in American schools in a way they are not almost anywhere else in
the world" (Ripley 10). School sports are causing most students to fail in grades because they focus on practices and games, not school. Clearly, this
data shows that school sports should be removed.

Education Should Be Taught In Schools
The notorious "when will I ever use this again" statement comes into play more often then none when students are taught the same materials every
year. A required education shouldn't change, but the education that is being taught should be able to be expanded and changed to accommodate all
students. Changing the curriculum of schools and intertwine classes to teach real world skills would keep students interested and perhaps even relieve
some factors that make becoming an adult overwhelming for some. Every individual should be educated on common tasks that they will have to
preform as they grow older and become more independent. An education system should not only teach young people how to be well rounded citizens,
but need to also prepare them ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only will they be able to solve math problems and equations, read in depth instructions and preform intelligently at anything they put their
minds to, but they will also be able to have the confidence to function in daily life tasks that come with being an adult. "We don't need to train
workers, we need to train citizens" (Abraham,). By training citizens and splitting education up with real world tasks, we will be able to create
young people who will be self reliant because they learned early that it wasn't going to be easy. They also had opportunities put in front of and it
was to their advantage that they took the class and became more knowledgeable. Teaching real world information in the classrooms might get
students involved more with their communities or even help them step out of the box. Personally, I feel like I step more out of my comfort zone
once I am more familiar with a subject or piece of information. I think that if I were presented with real world class options I would take the
opportunity and feel much more comfortable with the fact that I will have to rely on myself more in the coming future. Teachers tell us if we have a
question more than likely someone else in the class does too, so why not take that statement and confront those questions about real life tasks that we
are all going to have to partake in, whether we like it or

Should Schools Have Soda
Has anyone ever thought why their school only gives milk with their lunch? Or why most schools don't have soda? Some people do not think that
schools should sell any drinks but milk, water, and natural fruit juice. I think they should only offer these drinks because it would decrease child
obesity, keep children contained, and help the school.
One way it would help is it would decrease child obesity. Child obesity is a serious concern. If we only had these certain drinks, children would not
have as big of a chance of becoming obese. Kids could have a healthier mindset if they were only given these drinks. The kids could do better in
Physical
Fitness, and it would make it easier so they wouldn't be as challenged.
Another reason is that

Why Schools Should Have Music In Schools

  • 1. Why Schools Should Have Music In Schools Music is an amazing thing. Many people can make music in many different ways and it is truly amazing. I think every school should have a music program because it helps so many students with many different issues. For example, it helps kids of all ages who are not athletic. Several students who attend high school do not do sports or any kind of athletic activities. All of these non–athletes turn to band and/or choir. Not only does it help them be involved in an extracurricular, it also helps the band and choir out because that is one more voice or instrument that can make the band/choir sound bigger and better. Music in schools also allows students to show their talents. Playing an instrument and singing in the choir allows those ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Teachers Should Not Be Armed In Schools "I'd Feel More Comfortable knowing teachers aren't armed" – Ben Carson People feeling that guns will make schools safer are usually on that side because most are afraid of being a victim of a school shooting, when most don't realise that if there is a person in the class already that is armed there will be a more chance of being shot if the teacher has problems after they were "trained" .Teachers being armed at school might be a good thing for people and bad for some others that really just don't like guns at all. According to The New York Post, the Majority of people 82% wouldn't feel like a teacher having a gun would be necessary. The other 18% feel like it is needed for a less chance of a school shooter to take out people. Guns should be held away from teachers and there are many people that can agree with my position. If teachers were to be armed with guns, the students wouldn't really be paying attention to what the teacher is trying to teach, but mostly focus on what if the teacher pulls out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the teacher is trying to get the students attention and like a common thing that happens in school, students not paying attention, the teacher might pull the gun out and face it towards the students if they feel like it would make them get their attention much easier. They may seem like they aren't going to do something like that, but like they say you don't know anybody around you but yourself. Seems like teachers nowadays can barely handle a class of more than 30 students, what is going to make the people think also knowing that they have to secure and protect them all with the gun on them too. Why would anyone first think that teacher should keep a gun with them at all times in class while their job is only to teach and nothing else, putting a weapon on them just doesn't seem ... • 3. Should School Lunches Be Allowed In Schools In Schools all over the state, students complain about the quality of school lunches. As a result, many schools have decided to let fast food restaurants like Taco Bell, McDonalds, and Pizza hut into their school's cafeteria. This was an extremely bad idea. We all know teenagers love fast food. Whether it's the crispy salty french fries from McDonalds or the Cheesy pizza from Pizza hut, but is this food healthy? I would disagree. Jill CorLeone; a registered dietitian and health coach, with a little over fifteen years of experience disagrees as well. "The teen years are a period of rapid growth and development. In fact, teenagers need more calories during this period than they'll ever need in their lives". Teenagers need these calories from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Should School Be Longer Should school years be longer? No, they shouldn't and there are many reasons for this. Some are the following: it doesn't have links to school improvements, would cost more, won't fix problems, and disrupts family life. School is long enough, or well most people think so, and it doesn't help in scores improving. There are lots of people out there who say yes it does, but there is research that shows that it doesn't. Paul von Hippel, a sociologist at Ohio State University found that, over a full year, math and reading test scores improved about the same amount for children in year–round schools as they did for students whose schools followed a traditional nine–month calendar. He himself said the following, "We found that students in year–round ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some families already have plans for as soon as they get out and on that exact day too. So if the year was longer then they wouldn't be able to go there at the time that they always do, or they would miss school cause of it. Lots of kids already miss the last day or so of school, I don't think that the teachers or school board would be too happy about even more kids missing school. It would just mess up everyones routine and fun, and they would loose time to spend with their fmaily or friends because they have to spend it at school. There are also lots of people who think that it is just an absolutely horrible idea. Anthony Esolen, a professor of English literature and Western civilization, and author of How to Destroy the Imagination of Your Child, calls year–round schooling an "unimaginably horrible idea." He said, "If I've got a guy that I've hired to do plumbing, and my pipes still leak, I'm not going to say, 'Oh, maybe I should pay him twice as much and have him work twice as long,'" Esolen said. It doesn't help any what so ever. Overall I think that there are more people who would agree that school should not be made longer. It doesn't help kids and it just creates chaos in their ... • 5. Should Schools Offer Unhealthy There are many reasons why people think that school should offer both healthy and unhealthy foods/drinks. These are my reasons they should offer both. More kids will be satisfied; there will be more options, kids can have a more significant break from the same foods at home. There will more than likely be an increase in the number of satisfied kids if they add some of both healthy and unhealthy because they do not have to choose one or another. Kids will probably want to buy more food from school if there is both. A lot more kids will not ask their parents to make their lunch because they will want to buy lunch from school. Having both healthy and unhealthy choices will begin to summon a lot more options. The kids will have a lot less ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Should Lunches Be Allowed In Schools Junk food, sodas, and fries are the foods that are causing childhood obesity and bad–eating habits. Schools provide easy availability to unhealthy snacks from vending machines and cafeteria, which are causing teenagers to have zero nutrition in their body. School lunches are having a negative effect on their eating habits and their lifestyle. Schools should put in healthy products to reduce childhood obesity, reduce bad eating habits, and promote healthy lifestyle. Many schools around the nation are feeding unhealthy food products to children, such as fries, sodas, sweets from vending machines. It is shown that, "an estimated 17% of children and adolescents ages 2–19 years are obese according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention" ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, "In 2009, the Institute of Medicine, now named the National Academy of Medicine, updated its recommended nutrition requirements for healthy children" (Junk Food). Moreover, there were local campaigns happening in Palm Beach County, Florida stopping schools from giving unhealthy products to teenagers. Florida started a program called, "Fresh–2–U that encourages students to try 20 different fresh fruits and vegetables during the school year" (Schools Should Play a Role in Fighting Childhood Obesity). Also Fresh–2–U is improving school lunches and adding healthy snacks to vending machines. Many parents believe that school lunches and vending machine snacks are causing nutrition deficiency and obesity. A movement is needed to change the school lunches and replace school lunches with healthy sandwiches and fruits. Children need to consume their daily nutrition and changing school lunches will decrease the possibility of any health issues. Teenagers will feel more confident about themselves and not feel self–conscious all the time. Promoting healthy lifestyle not only in a few states, but everywhere will inspire teenagers to be ... • 7. Should School Uniforms Be Allowed In Schools? Have you ever had to wear a school uniform? School uniforms are plain and they have no personality. Who would want to wear something so plane? School uniforms should not be allowed in schools because they have no individuality, school uniforms can increase bullying, and finally they are so expensive. My first reason is that school uniforms are way too expensive. who would someone want to by something that is way over their budget when all they have to do is let the kids choose what they want for many things and still be less than a school uniform. Why would someone want their kid to look more grown up then they are. Why would the parents to allow their children to be in a passion where they would have to wear a school uniform. I chose this as my opinion essay because I don't like school uniforms because they are pointless and they are just something that the students wear to get humiliated is what I think. So maybe the student want to make there own choices not to be made to put on a stupid costume and have to wash and dry it and have to wear it every day. • 8. Should Lunches Be Allowed In Schools School lunches are different in different schools, the meals and the sides. Obesity in the population has grown a lot in America. Schools giving out unhealthy foods to children is making the problem even worse. Parents think that 'restricting' their kids from eating too much is good, but is their child getting the correct calories to focus on schoolwork and get through the rest of the day? On average, school lunches give 700–830 calories a serving."Some kids are saying they are hungry and their lunch isn't filling them up." (citation) A child needs 2,000 calories to get through their day. Schools' think the less the calories, the less the obesity chances, the schools strategy is causing more harm than good. The students complain about how they are still hungry after lunch. Maybe giving students more calories to get on through the day is not such a bad idea. Elementary through high school students complain about how poorly made the food is and how they are still hungry after lunch. "Kids get seconds if they are still hungry, but they choose unhealthy selections"(citation) Schools are basically starving students by not giving them enough protein and nutrition. Schools in America need to step up their game. They all need more fruits and vegetables in their school lunch lines. They should gradually add more and more healthy foods, so the ... • 9. Should Schools Be Allowed In Schools Research I think that schools and school districts should have the right to monitor what students do online – but only on district–owned devices. The first article, Do schools have the right to monitor students' online activity?, gives two opposing opinions on the issue. The second article, Should Schools Monitoring Students' Social Media Accounts?, gives the opinion of the author and some context of a district where that district monitors the accounts of students. Schools should be allowed to monitor devices and accounts that they own because they bought the devices/created the accounts and are allowing students to use it for educational purposes. Monitoring online activities is intruding into privacy, but using the district's devices means forfeiting that right. Aschool does not have the right to monitor a device they do not own because that is the child's/parents' device, and doing so is an invasion of privacy. The school is mostly in a position to uphold public safety, but parents should be in charge of students life away from school. If there is a problem outside of school, parents should handle it. "...schools should have the right to punish students for online activity because doing so might save lives." is a statement that I partly disagree with. • 11. Cursive Should Be Taught In Schools Do you think cursive should be taught in school? Even when people do use handwriting now most print instead of write cursive. Common core standards which is what most schools use isn't even teaching cursive any more. Most schools use technology over pen and paper now. Even other things like math, social studies, and other classes are taught online. When they aren't taught online most students don't even use cursive anyway. Most people who know how to use cursive don't even use it. Studies have shown that schools would be better off without sports. Therefore, schools should not have sports to save money, make students' education a priority, and adapt to their new environment. It Is Time To Scale Back, Amanda Ripley states that "New bleachers can cost half a million dollars" (11). • 14. Should Sports Be Obligatory At School? Should sport be obligatory at school? There is an undeniable truth that school is a place to study academic subjects, but some people think that sports should be included in the curriculum. Finally, school should reorganize the schedule so that students have time for academic subjects as well as playing sports In my opinion, sports should be obligatory at school. • 15. Should Schools Be Allowed In High School? Every year, thousands of people move to the United States from all over the world to play sports. According to the district they threatened to flunk sports down because they were rolling to cause financial problems and it would cut the cost of equipment. Therefore, schools should not have sports because they can cause district's financial problems, academic failures and students will not have the proper rooms to teach. Every year district spends thousands of bucks on equipment for kids who want to play when they could be spending ages on homework. According to Superintendent Ernest Singleton from Premont High School he said, "that when they got rid of sports, 80% of the students passed their classes" (Ripley 10). As reported by Superintendent Ernest Singleton from Premont High School he said when they got rid of sports they saved 150,000 dollars per year (Ripley 10). • 18. Why School Should Be A School There are many arguments as to why children should stay in school. I think education is important to any child's life. Education is what builds a person up and help them make something of their self , and from a nobody to a somebody. Education is the key to any door you are trying to open. I wouldn't consider anybody to drop out of school. I know school can be hard at times, but its only hard because the teachers are trying to make you stronger. Education to me is basically what you need to better yourself in life. Think about this, how many people know a person that has an education has a good career ? There are a lot of people with an education that has a career. Now do you think there are the same amount of people without an education with a career. Nine times out of ten a business is going for the person with a high school diploma. For example there are 3 people in line to get this job at Barnes and Noble. Two of these people graduated high school and has a good resume. The other person dropped out in the 12th grade and doesn't have a resume to give. There are two positions open, now who do you think is going to get the job. The two people with a high school diploma and a good resume is going to get the job. When we asked them why they would reply because this is what teacher should be. One day I was working on a group assignment, and a question that we had to answer was what a concept in schools that our group should revise and why. Therefore, we decided to revise the traditional way of teaching (delivering information) to help students to have critical skills. During our meeting, one of the group's members said, "I have been teaching for twenty years, and I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Snacks Should Be Changed In School Dear Principal, sometimes school can be tiring and children just need something to refill their energy, even though they do have a lunchbreak, but seeing them doesn't look like lunch is enough to keep them focused through the day. So, for the one rule that should be changed in schools should be (no snacks). If teachers can take snacks breaks in school between classes then why can't school children have snacks? The Center of Science in the Public Interest reports that snacks are beneficial for children, promoting good nutrition, encouraging healthy habits, and for the most part preventing any diseases. As a future educator and being in a school where these practices and techniques have been implemented, to me I feel that this teaching style has a huge impacted on how students should be taught. I believe that this trend should be continued to be used in all schools because this process really dives into the fundamentals of teaching. It also gets the students involved with their education and in my opinion, that creates an environment where the students can take control of their learning and they can be accountable for their education. When the school her daughters attended moved into the responsive teaching approach, she was nervous for what would come. To summarize Badalaty's experience with the new changes at her daughter's school, she said, "...they are both performing exceptionally well at age–appropriate academics. Most importantly, they actually enjoy school, doing their coursework, and seeing their friends. I'm convinced that responsive classroom is an educational approach that benefits teachers, students, and parents by creating an inclusive atmosphere in which children can learn and thrive"(Badalaty). From Gina Badalaty's experience, it is easy to see that the teaching approach in which schools use to promote learning is benefiting children in many ways. Students with dyslexia and dyscalculia also can benefit immensely from the responsive teaching approach. Dyslexic students can benefit from active teaching since the teacher presents first and then explains what was just presented. With this students with dyslexia have more time to organize, prioritize and filter new information (Stevens). Students with dyscalculia can really benefit from the student practice, instructor guided part of responsive teaching. Here students with dyscalculia can use manipulatives, have more space to write out problems and even be able to talk out the problem (Morin). Students with ADHD can also benefit from this learning style. Teachers that have students with ADHD can simplify the instructions and can post classroom rules on the wall so it is very clear what is expected of them (Weaver ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

So why should we teach kids subjects that can benefit their learning and future? Well without these subjects kids won't know how to do or think about things that are crucial to survive in our society. In a poll conducted in 2013 by National Public Radio, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Harvard School of Public Health, 20 percent of parents of students from kindergarten through fifth grade told us that their child gets 15 minutes or less to eat. School lunches should be longer because students feel rushed to eat and having too little time to eat leads to unhealthy choices. The first reason school lunches should be longer is because several students feel rushed to eat. Deborah Taylor, director of the Shawnee School Nutrition Services in Oklahoma, told USA Today that when people look back on the childhood obesity epidemic, they may blame the way kids rushed through meals, both at school and at home. • 33. School Funding Should Not Be Cut I believe that education is essential to America's future generations and how well we can compete with the rest of the world in diverse fields, therefore school funding should not be cut. The budget for the Department of Education has been reduced and cut in many ways. Some solutions the government thought they had found, such as the No Child Left Behind Act, turned out to increase the budget, rather than reduce it. The cutting of teachers' unions and reduction of class sizes have also been suggested to reduce budget. Although some of these sound easy and appealing, they won't necessarily help reduce the Department of Education's spending. The federal government has attempted to slice into the Department of Education's budget since it was established in 1979. The department was originally founded in 1867, but soon became demoted since the government was afraid it would have too much power. "In the 1860s, a budget of $15,000 and four employees handled education fact–finding. By 1965, the Office of Education had more than 2,100 employees and a budget of $1.5 billion. As of mid–2010, the Department has nearly 4,300 employees and a budget of about $60 billion" (An overview of the U.S. Department of Education, 2010). • 35. Why School Should Be A School Introduction Throughout this course I learned many things about what it takes to be a school leader. In order to be a school leader one must possess certain qualities and understand how a school functions and the people that help run the school. Whether these people are staff members or a member of the community, they all help in making the school what it is. From, supporting the schools academic programs, all the way to cheering for the schools varsity football team. The school is part of the community and the principal is an integral part of the whole structure. This led me to a very important realization. To run a school effectively and have the respect of the community, the principal must have integrity, treat people fairly, and most importantly they should have strong ethics. Vision All schools must have a vision and a mission statement. Words that can be seen in a schools office or hallways that tell people what this school is all about. How the school views learning and how it plans to go about it. The mission should also let people know that the school is a safe environment and that the students will be safe in the school. I would make sure that all stakeholders in the community and the parents that come into the school saw the vision that I have for the school. My vision for a wonderful school is to create a school for the 21st century. I would take the all or none approach to this. By this I mean that I would have the latest technology and be completely green. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
