" Forgive your enemies, but never forget their names." The weather that day was that is was 52
degrees with some wind. The wind was 15 mph just like when we had that huge rain and wind

Where and When JFK was the 35th president at the time when he got shot by Lee Harvey Oswald.
The place that he got shot was called the Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas. It was just a normal day and
JFK was driving with his wife Jacqueline in an open top convertible. JFK was driving and then all
of a sudden, everyone saw a gun shot by Oswald. This all had happened on Friday November 22, in
the year of 1963. There was also this guy named Shea standing with his mother Hannah, holding
their ice cream from the Dealey Plaza. Their ice cream was starting to melt because they had gotten
their ice cream at 11:15 AM.

That death had marked the most recent assassination of an American president and that was the
worst death of all presidents. After JFK died, the president was Lyndon B. Johnson because he was
the vice president. I bet that he was happy because it has been a long time since the vice president
was president. The only reason why JFK was shot because of a secret plan that he had kept between
someone and they thought that it was going to be harmful against other people and he did all of this
when he was only 46 years old. Shea and his mom saw JFK and Jacqueline coming down the street
in their convertible. Shea yelled, "Mom, why are they driving a convertible down the

He was in the hospital for a month. In 1936 John graduated from Choate, a boarding school in
Connecticut. In an election year in which Republicans gained control of both Houses of Congress;
Kennedy nevertheless won a narrow victory, giving him considerable clout within the Democratic
Party. According to one of his aides, the decisive factor in Kennedy 's victory was his personality.
Shortly after his election, Kennedy met a beautiful young woman named Jacqueline Bouvier at a
dinner party and, in his own words, "leaned across the asparagus and asked her for a date." They
were married on September 12, 1953. Jack and Jackie Kennedy had three children: Caroline
Kennedy, John F. Kennedy Jr. and Patrick Kennedy.
John Kennedy's Presidency
John Kennedy became the youngest man to be elected as the U.S president. On November 8, 1960,
he narrowly beat Richard Nixon, who was the vice president to become the 35th U.S president. John
Kennedy chose Lyndon Johnson, who was the Senate majority leader as his running mate, and later
on to become the vice president. During his inauguration on January 20, 1961, John Kennedy
inspired Americans to become active citizen members by stating, "Ask what not your country can do

helping the civil rights movement and was very focused on economic problems and concerns in the
United States ("John F. Kennedy" Whitehouse). Jack had a priority to land on the moon before the
Russians did (Kaplan 78). Because of Jack's quick thinking during the Cuban missile crisis, the
United States stayed safe. He stood up to the Russians and did not let them take nuclear weapons to
Cuba ("John F. Kennedy" Whitehouse). He gained respect from many world leaders for doing this

Persuasive Essay : The Importance Of Insecurity
Dictionary.com defines Insecurity as a "Lack of confidence or assurance; self–doubt." Some
synonyms include instability, precariousness, shakiness and vulnerability. Insecurity is the feeling
that you lack control and confidence in your outlook and position in life. You have a weak and shaky
foundation in which you operate and anyone can cause emotional and psychological disruption. On
some level, we all wrestle with insecurity. Just think of a time when you felt good about completing
a project. You spent hours tweaking and perfecting it. In your imagination, you envisioned people
marveling at your creativity. Then you showed your crown jewel to a loved one or co–worker. With
a look of disapproval and confusion, they sheepishly said," Oh, that's nice." At that moment, all you
wanted to do was crawl under a rock. You vowed never to create anything ever again. Guess what?
You didn't. These moments where insecurity got the best of you can be proportional to the degree
that you exercise self–discipline. After all, if no one cares about trying new things, why should you?
And it is painful to be ridiculed by friends, loved ones and strangers. By thinking in these terms, you
are actually being rational. Who wants to be ridiculed for being creative and taking chances?
However, what is the personal cost for happiness over a lifetime when you are driven by your
insecurities? And what impact does self–discipline have over insecurities? The road that most people
take is to allow insecurity to impact their lives negatively. By being progressively selfish, you can
not only develop greater self–discipline, but also build a life of happiness. Progressive selfishness is
the notion that you act predominately in your self–interest as a mode of behavior and as a means of
achieving goals that benefit you and society. Conversely, regressive selfishness is the notion that for
you to win someone has to lose. With regressive selfishness, the other person not only has to lose,
but also must be humiliated and annihilated. There are a few ways to use your insecurities to build
your self–discipline to become happier and successful through progressive selfishness. Here are a
few ways to start the process. Use your insecurities as a

JFK Leadership Profile Essay
"Land of the free, home of the brave", the United States has stood amongst the most powerful and
influential countries of the world for decades and decades. In order to maintain said reputation, the
country needs a leader just as strong and influential. In the early 1960s the United States had a
leader who was a leader among leaders and had the respect of an entire nation. John Fitzgerald
Kennedy was the 35th President, who took office on January 20, 1961– but before that Kennedy was
a World War II hero, a United States Senator, and published a book titled Profiles of Courage which
won him a Pulitzer Prize (www.famouspeople.com). John F. Kennedy possessed traits that allowed

After enrolling in business school in Stanford, in 1940, "Jack [John Kennedy] publicly registered for
the first peacetime draft in US history and his number was the 18th drawn" (Ward, 2005); he did not
pass the Army's physical and spent an entire summer working on his physical condition and health.
Kennedy used his father's political influence to get him into the Navy. In the mind of Kennedys, the
United States Navy was the "ivy league" of the military branches and sticking with his families urge
to maintain public image, he did not want to enlist in the Army. From a young age, Kennedy showed
strong leadership skills; he led by example. As a training officer, on one of the PT boats he
commanded, they became stuck on ground and wanted to know what was under there, "rather than
send somebody else over the side, he went over himself. He didn't say to the executive officer, 'You
go over and look.' He did it himself. He knew there are certain dangers in going over it" (Wood,
2005). By going over the side of the boat to see what they were stuck on, Kennedy demonstrated
that he was no better than any of his men and no task was beneath him to complete personally. This
is the sign of a true leader. Leaders have an inner desire to better themselves; he was not content
with just being a training officer. He soon applied for combat duty

Special Olympics: Olympic-Like Competition for People...
Have you ever dreamed of going to the Olympics? What about people with intellectual disabilities
though? For many years, they never even had the chance to dream about participating in an
Olympic–like competition. With a history that has moved the hearts of many, the Special Olympics

be accepted into the world just like any other human being.
The whole idea came from one young and brave woman named Eunice Kennedy Shriver born on

She had them participate in sports such as gymnastics, swimming, and soccer. A loving heart and

The big day was July 20, 1968. 1000 athletes marched proudly onto Soldier Field and were ready to
face whatever came their way. This was the day of the first ever Special Olympics, which hosted
events in only track and field and swimming. "You know, Eunice, the world will never be the same
after this," quoted Chicago mayor Richard Daley while he was observing those first games.
The Special Olympics has grown tremendously from those first games. In 1971, they gained the
right to use the name "Olympics" in their name, being one of only two organizations in the U.S. to
have that right. With more than 500 athletes competing, the International Winter Games were added
in 1977 and were hosted in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, offering events in skiing and skating. In
1988, the International Olympic Committee officially endorsed and recognized the Special
Olympics. Just 20 years after the first Games, the Special Olympics had grown so worldly that they
were in 73 countries, every U.S. state, and 4 U.S. territories offering coaching and competition in 10
summer sports and 6 winter and demonstration sports. In 1993, the Special Olympics finally went

John F. Kennedy(JFK)
John "Jack" Fitzgerald Kennedy has been a part of the United State's history. Not only because he
was one of their many presidents, but also because he made a change. He seemed pretty normal. Not
too arrogant, not too shy, but I think he changed many people's opinion about things. He made the
people, not only in the USA, but many other places a little bit happier when they watched television.
He gave many people hope and peace and the days weren't actually peaceful. A lot of things had

Special Needs People In The 1960's
Although special needs people in the 1960's were considered useless, Eunice Kennedy Shriver took
a stand for them. She created the special olympics, and camp shriver. She used the Joseph P
Kennedy Jr. Foundation as well to bend her will on the country of America. The legacy she left
behind is still felt today; with the special olympics having an attendance of over 3 million people.
Along with that, we have seen the rights and view of special needs people increase ten–fold,
compared to what they were in the 1960's. They are as much a part of modern society as anyone else
is. Let's begin with some historical context from the 1960's. The United States was amidst a cold

But Eunice Kennedy Shriver worried about something completely different, (and no, it wasn't Soviet
spies). She was concerned about the state how mentally disabled people across America were
treated. In the 1960's, there was no conclusive research done that explained why mentally disabled
people were how they were. Because of this, society casted them aside, considering them useless
and a waste of time to deal with. The mentally disabled were frequently placed in mental facilities
where conditions were awful. A young patient at a mental facility recalled a punishment he received
at Rockland County Mental Asylum in the 60's: "When we started to misbehave, they would tie us
down with icy cold wet sheets." These were the types of punishment administered to mentally
disabled people because they didn't really know what else to do with them. Another social stigma
around the mentally disabled was that they brought a sort of shame to their families. In turn, many
mentally disabled children were kept hidden by the families to avoid embarrassment, and also
because no one thought they could function like normal members of society. Eunice

celebrate the inauguration of the 35th president of the united states. The three pieces analyzed use
different methods to portray what exactly went on on that cold January day, but managed to impact
the readers and portray John F. Kennedy the same way. His inauguration speech uses different
rhetorical terms and Ethos as a method of persuasion. The article Inside Kennedy´s Inauguration by

The Bad Luck Kennedys Essay
The Kennedy family, the quintessential all–American family, filled with some of the country's best
and brightest. That special family contains a soldier, a few senators, and even a president, the
famous John Franklin Kennedy. However, some of us have probably heard about the bad luck this
family seems to run into, from a botched lobotomy to that famous JFK assassination. The whole
entire family seems cursed, those ghastly curses ranging from Rosemary Kennedy's misdiagnosis
and rather unfortunate botched lobotomy, to John F. Kennedy's assassination. It's sad to see a well–
respected family go through such tragedies, it's almost as the world was plotting against these
people. In this essay, I will be talking about the multitude of the ... Show more content on

intellectual disabilities can be categorized into these several groups, borderline, mild, moderate,

teachers to classify students with different severities of intellectual disability. Ms. Kelly
recommended students with moderate, severe, and profound levels of intellectual disabilities are
placed in special education classes full time with some interaction with regular education students.
Mrs. Hoffman explained how borderline levels of ID are classified as functioning but slower

There are six main laws that govern the Securities Industry, but only four that are relevant to the
majority of people. The first law is the Securities Act of 1933, which is often referred to as the "truth

significant information concerning securities being offered for public sale; and to prohibit deceit,
misrepresentation, and other fraud in the sale of securities. These two objectives are accomplished
primarily by registration which discloses important financial information. While the SEC requires
this information to be accurate, there is no guarantee that it will be. However, if investors purchase

Was Robert F Kennedy Assassination Justified
Whether one believes that Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated by Sirhan Sirhan, the Mafia, or the
US government, it remains one of the greatest controversial mysteries of our time, yet in the minds
of some people, his assassination was justified. Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated by a joint effort
of both the Mafia and the U.S. government. Both of these groups had good reason to assassinate
him. On one hand, one group wanted revenge while the other group wanted to stop his progressive
involvement in helping the African American community advance. The Mafia wanted revenge. In
the documentary "The Kennedy's" it is stated that Robert Kennedy, "made a lot of enemies in

Robert Kennedy had concluded that the way American society treated it citizens of color was simply
wrong. Many people, mainly those that hated African Americans saw him as a threat to their normal
way of living and their normal way of treating African Americans. This too was a move that would
give people, mainly racists and people full of hatred toward African Americans motivation to
assassinate Robert Kennedy. The final report aimed to prove that the assassination of Robert F.
Kennedy on June 5, 1968 was performed by one man, Sirhan Sirhan at the Ambassador Hotel in Los
Angeles, California. He had just finished addressing a ballroom full of his supporters. The
Biographical Directory of the US Congress says Robert F. Kennedy, "died from the effects of an

There are tons of conspiracies of the JFK assassination we need to find out what really happened.
Who really killed him and had something to do with it we don't know many people could have had
something to do with the assassination and setting it up either Oswald killed Kennedy, with or
without associate's, or he was set up in advance to take the blame. Was it the umbrella man, was it
the mob, was it the government, or was it Lee Harvey Oswald himself? We don't know, there are so
many theories about what really happened.
Who was the umbrella man? Nov. 22, 1963 was not rainy, and yet there he was in the crowd in

¨The Mob hated JFK and his family. Giancana had longtime ties to the Kennedy clan, going back to
JFK's father, Joseph P. Kennedy, who was involved with Giancana in the bootlegging business
during Prohibition. Additionally, Gianciana was an associate of singer Frank Sinatra, a close
Kennedy friend, and allegedly was a donor to JFK's 1960 Presidential campaign, at a time when
politicians weren't required to disclose their deep–pockets contributors. The Mob set up JFK and
voted for him. In 2009, Tina Sinatra, daughter of Kennedy friend of Frank Sinatra, told the TV
program 60 Minutes that the legendary singer at the behest of JFK's father, Joseph P. Kennedy
approached Giancana. Sinatra allegedly asked Giancana to use mob muscle to pressure local union
members to vote for JFK. The Mob also didn't like that he had failed to remove Fidel Castro. The
mob certainly had potential motives. Several mob leaders were upset that Kennedy had failed to
overthrow Cuban leader Fidel Castro, who had closed down their lucrative casinos in Havana after
he took power in 1959. The President's brother, Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, further had
aroused their animosity by launching a high profile probe of organized crime and aggressively
pursued Teamsters Union leader Jimmy Hoffa for alleged corruption and ties to the Mafia. The Mob
had lots of bad things happen with the JFK family, but was it enough for them to kill JFK

How Did The Mafia Kill John F Kennedy
Did the Mafia Kill John F. Kennedy? The assassination of John F. Kennedy shocked and confused
the nation. Many people were upset and even wept openly over hearing JFK had been killed. ON
November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was shot as he rode in a motorcade through Dealey
Plaza in downtown Dallas, Texas. Along with him, Governor John Connally was shot in the back
near his right shoulder. Many people believe that Lee Harvey Oswald was the only person who shot
and killed John F. Kennedy. Another theory is that the Mafia killed JFK. JFK and his family were
involved with the Mafia. The Mafia had a few motives to kill John Kennedy. JFK's death also could
have benefitted the Mafia. JFK was connected to the Mafia because of the U.S. primary election in
1960, in which senator John F. Kennedy was running. Joseph P. Kennedy, JFK's father, wanted the
Mafia's help in delivering the union vote in the 1960 West Virginia primary. Joseph P. Kennedy also
asked Frank Sinatra, who worked for the CIA then ask the Chicago crime boss, Sam Giancana, to
help in delivering the vote for JFK. The Mafia and Sam Giancana followed through with what
Joseph P. Kennedy had asked them to do. Sam Giancana and the Mafia voted for JFK and persuaded

Pop Art : An Art Movement
Pop Art is an art movement that emerged in the 1950's characterized by imagery from pop culture
mostly on advertisements and news often using the sense of irony. This movement was more of a
cultural revolution using vibrant colors and bold graphics to represent a statement and provide an
instant meaning. It has a relation with the abstract expressionism, however it is clearer and has a
comic book vibe. Pop art is not trying to confuse you and make you analyze its meaning, on the
contrary, it wants the audience to have a clear message of the daily social, political and cultural
changes occurring and how they impact society. The Philadelphia Museum of Art held the
"International Pop" exhibit from February 24, 2016 through May 15, 2016. This exhibit focused on
art from 1950's to 1970's were it explored bold and thought–provoking imagery, reliving a period
influenced by social, political and cultural changes. This was a movement that crossed continents
from Europe to America being distinct in every region. In this exhibit the artwork "John Fitzgerald
Kennedy" by Sergio Lombardo awaked thoughts in my mind about the power of gestures, how it
conveyed an audience and how it defines someone's personality. Sergio Lombardo, an Italian artist,
portrays black and white silhouettes of politicians and leaders. He re–created an immortal image of
authoritative postures, and formal clothing of the figures, which preserve the unique presence of
iconic leaders. Lombardo's use of black and

There were a lot of misunderstandings between the two sides. This all began with The Bay of Pigs
Invasion. The Bay of Pigs Invasion started when trained Cuban refugees land in Cuba to attack the
government of Fidel Castro. Fidel Castro had been a threat to the U.S. The U.S. president at the time
which was Dwight D. Eisenhower was planning an armed attack on Cuba. Then, JFK became
president so he had to take over the attack. However, the attack had failed when the U.S. didn't have
any air support and were very unprepared. The Cuban Missile Crisis came into play when there were
nuclear Cuban missiles being placed close to the U.S. John F. Kennedy had a plan to prevent the
Soviets to keep placing missiles as well as having previous missiles be removed. This all ended
when Kennedy agrees to remove Turkey missiles if the Soviets remove Cuban missiles. John F.
Kennedy and the U.S. win the crisis because the Soviets backed out.
Overall, president John F. Kennedy was a good president with some flaws. He had achieved some of
his goals before his death such as the Peace Corps and his strength throughout the missile crisis.

the book is the American Dream. The American Dream is an idea in which Americans believe
through hard work they can achieve success and prosperity in the free world. In F. Scott Fitzgerald 's
novel, The Great Gatsby, the American Dream leads to popularity, extreme jealousy and false
happiness. Jay Gatsby's recent fortune and wealthiness helped him earn a high social position and
become one of the most recognizable men in West Egg. Gatsby is jealous of Tom Buchanan's
prosperous life and beautiful wife, Daisy, which motivated him to become wealthy in order for him
to win back Daisy, the love of his life. Throughout the novel, Daisy's attitude remains superficially
happy to mask her pain at her husband 's constant infidelity. Gatsby contemporary success and
riches led him to become extremely wealthy and one of the most popular men in West Egg.
The acquisition of wealth and riches Gatsby experienced secured his high social position in society.
Just before Gatsby brings Nick Carraway an invitation to one of his parties, Nick observes Gatsby's
house as guests enter and exit during his lavish parties.
There was music from my neighbor's house through the summer nights. In his blue gardens men and
girls came and went like moths among the whisperings and the champagne and the stars. At high
tide in the afternoon I
watched his guests diving from the tower of his raft or taking the

  • 19. Persuasive Essay : The Importance Of Insecurity Dictionary.com defines Insecurity as a "Lack of confidence or assurance; self–doubt." Some synonyms include instability, precariousness, shakiness and vulnerability. Insecurity is the feeling that you lack control and confidence in your outlook and position in life. You have a weak and shaky foundation in which you operate and anyone can cause emotional and psychological disruption. On some level, we all wrestle with insecurity. Just think of a time when you felt good about completing a project. You spent hours tweaking and perfecting it. In your imagination, you envisioned people marveling at your creativity. Then you showed your crown jewel to a loved one or co–worker. With a look of disapproval and confusion, they sheepishly said," Oh, that's nice." At that moment, all you wanted to do was crawl under a rock. You vowed never to create anything ever again. Guess what? You didn't. These moments where insecurity got the best of you can be proportional to the degree that you exercise self–discipline. After all, if no one cares about trying new things, why should you? And it is painful to be ridiculed by friends, loved ones and strangers. By thinking in these terms, you are actually being rational. Who wants to be ridiculed for being creative and taking chances? However, what is the personal cost for happiness over a lifetime when you are driven by your insecurities? And what impact does self–discipline have over insecurities? The road that most people take is to allow insecurity to impact their lives negatively. By being progressively selfish, you can not only develop greater self–discipline, but also build a life of happiness. Progressive selfishness is the notion that you act predominately in your self–interest as a mode of behavior and as a means of achieving goals that benefit you and society. Conversely, regressive selfishness is the notion that for you to win someone has to lose. With regressive selfishness, the other person not only has to lose, but also must be humiliated and annihilated. There are a few ways to use your insecurities to build your self–discipline to become happier and successful through progressive selfishness. Here are a few ways to start the process. In order to maintain said reputation, the country needs a leader just as strong and influential. In the early 1960s the United States had a leader who was a leader among leaders and had the respect of an entire nation. John Fitzgerald Kennedy was the 35th President, who took office on January 20, 1961– but before that Kennedy was a World War II hero, a United States Senator, and published a book titled Profiles of Courage which won him a Pulitzer Prize (www.famouspeople.com). Kennedy used his father's political influence to get him into the Navy. In the mind of Kennedys, the United States Navy was the "ivy league" of the military branches and sticking with his families urge to maintain public image, he did not want to enlist in the Army. From a young age, Kennedy showed strong leadership skills; he led by example. As a training officer, on one of the PT boats he commanded, they became stuck on ground and wanted to know what was under there, "rather than send somebody else over the side, he went over himself. He didn't say to the executive officer, 'You go over and look.' He did it himself. He knew there are certain dangers in going over it" (Wood, 2005). By going over the side of the boat to see what they were stuck on, Kennedy demonstrated that he was no better than any of his men and no task was beneath him to complete personally. This is the sign of a true leader. Leaders have an inner desire to better themselves; he was not content with just being a training officer. He soon applied for combat duty ... Because of this, society casted them aside, considering them useless and a waste of time to deal with. The mentally disabled were frequently placed in mental facilities where conditions were awful. A young patient at a mental facility recalled a punishment he received at Rockland County Mental Asylum in the 60's: "When we started to misbehave, they would tie us down with icy cold wet sheets." These were the types of punishment administered to mentally disabled people because they didn't really know what else to do with them. Another social stigma around the mentally disabled was that they brought a sort of shame to their families. These two objectives are accomplished primarily by registration which discloses important financial information. While the SEC requires this information to be accurate, there is no guarantee that it will be. However, if investors purchase securities and suffer losses due to the fact that the information given was incomplete or inaccurate they have recovery rights. The registration process requires corporations to supply the essential facts while minimizing the burden and expense of complying with the law. Additionally, Gianciana was an associate of singer Frank Sinatra, a close Kennedy friend, and allegedly was a donor to JFK's 1960 Presidential campaign, at a time when politicians weren't required to disclose their deep–pockets contributors. The Mob set up JFK and voted for him. In 2009, Tina Sinatra, daughter of Kennedy friend of Frank Sinatra, told the TV program 60 Minutes that the legendary singer at the behest of JFK's father, Joseph P. Kennedy approached Giancana. Sinatra allegedly asked Giancana to use mob muscle to pressure local union members to vote for JFK. The Mob also didn't like that he had failed to remove Fidel Castro. The mob certainly had potential motives. Several mob leaders were upset that Kennedy had failed to overthrow Cuban leader Fidel Castro, who had closed down their lucrative casinos in Havana after he took power in 1959. • 59. Pop Art : An Art Movement Pop Art is an art movement that emerged in the 1950's characterized by imagery from pop culture mostly on advertisements and news often using the sense of irony. This movement was more of a cultural revolution using vibrant colors and bold graphics to represent a statement and provide an instant meaning. It has a relation with the abstract expressionism, however it is clearer and has a comic book vibe. Pop art is not trying to confuse you and make you analyze its meaning, on the contrary, it wants the audience to have a clear message of the daily social, political and cultural changes occurring and how they impact society. This exhibit focused on art from 1950's to 1970's were it explored bold and thought–provoking imagery, reliving a period influenced by social, political and cultural changes. This was a movement that crossed continents from Europe to America being distinct in every region. In this exhibit the artwork "John Fitzgerald Kennedy" by Sergio Lombardo awaked thoughts in my mind about the power of gestures, how it conveyed an audience and how it defines someone's personality. Sergio Lombardo, an Italian artist, portrays black and white silhouettes of politicians and leaders. He re–created an immortal image of authoritative postures, and formal clothing of the figures, which preserve the unique presence of iconic leaders. Lombardo's use of black and ...
