The opportunity to view both productions of King Lear has appeared twice for me in the past two
years. The first time I viewed Trevor Nunn's 2009 production of King Lear my review would have
been based solely on my ability to understand the dialogue and my appreciation of the acting of Ian
McKellen. Two years later I have a better understanding of the actual play and while I still enjoy the
2009 production the 1982 production directed by Jonathan Miller presents the words of William
Shakespeare in a more accurate and period specific manor.
From the opening scenes of Trevor Nunn's 2009 production of King Lear, the audience is made
aware of a dark, ominous cloud that is about to envelope them. The use of low lights and spotlights
allows for a slow augmentation of the yet to come tragic aspects of the play. The minimal use of
props and background sets allows his audience to focus on the characters and their dialogue. Besides
the set design, background music for any movie can also make or break a production. The 1982
production directed by Jonathan Miller declined to have any music from the opening scene and went
directly into dialogue whereas Nunn's version has an opening musical score that is reminiscent of a
scene from the Phantom of the Opera. The music is a lead in to an over dramatic scene where the
people bow down to King Lear and subsequently the dialogue of the play begins. The 1982

Working together in a group can be overwhelming due to the different personalities and work habits
that team members bring along with them. It takes managerial knowledge and leadership traits to see

The film All About My Mother is a drama which sees a mother, Manuela, on a search to find the
father of her son. This journey comes after her son, who has always desired to meet his father, was

definition. I first asked the question to a thirteen year old friend, who replied "I think racism is when
people show discrimination towards people who are a different colour to themselves. I think people

The short story the Veldt by Ray Bradbury reveals that revenge is the key to most people's problems
if there isn't a solution. Early in the story we learn that the children have an issue with their father
closing the nursery. The author uses characterization as the literary element in the story to show how
the character develops. George, the father of Peter and Wendy is giving Peter recognition and
explaining how he is highly intelligent. While George takes pride in his son, he doesn't realize that

uses this characterization to explain to the reader how smart Peter. George explains how his son
could fix machinery even though he is at a very young age. As days pass George realizes that his

disobedience?" The author is trying to show the reader the actions that have happened since George

When I was young, my father and I would always spend the summer on the glistening white sand of
the beach at the end of the road. We would splash knee–deep in the cold waves, kicking the water so
that droplets of water sparkled like crystals in underneath the warm sun. We would lay on our backs
and admire the sky and watch the clouds swirl into marvellous shapes. We would build sandcastles
that had moats and bridges and imaginary soldiers that would spar with thrusting swords and
swinging shields. These picturesque days went on and on. They were a constant cycle of deep blue
skies, imprinted on my mind. My oldest memories are all full of my father in these moments, as he
played in the warm sand and stretched out his frown lines. Now, as I stand on the very same beach,

help but miss him regardless of the pain he injected into himself and everyone else who cared about

aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance.
The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Both kids who are bullied

Sharpeville massacre, the ANC and PAC (Pan–African Congress) were both banned. These two
organisations then turned their thoughts to more violent means of protest – the ANC's group was
named 'Umkhonto we Sizwe', meaning 'Spear of the Nation' or MK for short. The commander–in–
chief of this guerrilla army was Mandela. MK bombed government buildings and other targets such
