Agenda


College is a part of Higher education in India. Its
library’s role is very important for the student development.
Library is a bridge between the teaching and learning
process. Colleges form the integral part of Higher education
and libraries in colleges are the primary source for learning
process.
The college library is a connecting link between
teaching and learning as well as place which supplements its
resources what is beyond scope of class room. College
libraries play an important role in the educational history of
both the students as well as the faculty members. It serves
the user by providing specific information to the user.
Introduction


 To acquire, organize and update the library
collection to support teaching-learning process.
 To encourage students to read beyond the
requirements of the curriculum.
 To work with faculty in integrating information
skills, knowledge of information sources, and the use
of technology in accessing information needed to
strengthen their instruction, research and extension.
 To provide instruction and assistance in the effective
use of learning resources / services.

 The Department of Library aims to become the
model library.
 The Library intends to incorporate the latest
technology and adopt user friendly approach
towards students and faculty and external readers.
 The Library intends to offer comprehensive services
related to dissemination of knowledge.
VISION


 Library serves as a resource center and aims to
develop a comprehensive collection of books and
journals useful for students and faculty of the college
and provides an efficient dissemination of
knowledge.
MISSION


 The Library is part of the institution since its inception in 1984.
 Library has very rich collections of Books on Various Branches of Knowledge.
 Serving as the Nerve Centre of the College.
 Almost 48471(39698+6942+1831) collections of Books are housed in the Library.
 58 Periodicals and 10 Newspapers.
 N-LIST Consortium Subscribed(Online E-Journals and E-Books)

 Automated Library System with the help of SOUL 2.0 Software since 2004. All

the library. It is available in only reading room on
current reading.

 Separate Reading Room facility available for Girls
students, Boys Students, Teacher, Research Students,
Inter-Library Readers and External Readers.

We take library orientation program to the
fresher students in beginning of the year. Guide the
library rules, facility, services, access of e-resources,
books, periodicals, etc.
User Orientations


 The library doesn't have any types of books weed
out policy.
 At the time of stock verification we sort out the
books i.e. damaged, old, unused text collections, etc..
 Appoint the concern department’s teachers to verify
these books and the weed out process will be done
by library advisory committee and College
management.

library software from January 2004. Central Library
is a part of the institute. The library is connected to
the BSNL's Broad Band Internet bandwidth.
 The library has 1 server, 4 PCs and other accessories
adequate to cater to the needs of users. 2 PCs are for
home lending section in the library. 1 PC is meant for
users to access OPAC, databases, e-books, e-journals
and other e-resources and 1 PC for self Login-
Logout.

 All books are barcoded.
 Students I-Cards is barcoded.
 Three multi-dimensional Bar Code scanners used for
circulation and self Login-logout.
 Previously Laser printer was used for Bar Code
Printing. Now Thermal Bar Code printer is used
from 2019.

 We are celebrating birth and death anniversary of
National Leaders and Social Reformers and also
celebrates days.
 Around 35 activities done in entire every calendar
year.

newspapers are collected and displayed on notice
board.
 Also new arrivals are displayed or books kept on
reading room counter.
