3. INTRODUCTIONINTRODUCTION
The BEC Library is providing excellent services
to the users since its inception (1963).
The Library has developed its collection with the
financial assistance from the Management, DCA,
SC/ST and World Bank of TEQIP Phase-I,
Phase-II

4. LIBRARY & INFORMATION CENTRE
The Library is housed in a specious building having 1970 sq.m plinth area and has
over 1,30,000 volumes and 42101 titles related to Science and all branches of
Engineering. Library and information Centre subscribes 8 electronic databases,
Viz, IEEE, ASCE, Springer, Science Direct, Taylor & Francis, and proquest under
VTU Consortium. More than 10263 e-Journals & 6514 conference Proceedings,
160 print National journals and 3 print International Journals are available to the
faculty, students and other users through annual subscription.
And also have perpetual access towards 13404 Science and Engineering
e-books of Springer, Taylor & Francis, and 169 Pearson Computer Science e-
books collection. Handbooks, Standards, Manuals, Encyclopedias, Technical
Reports, Conference Proceedings, Back volumes, ISTE learning materials, projects
reports, Ph.D thesis etc are also available for reference. The Library is automated
with Easylib software upgraded with 4.3.2 version. OPAC facility through touch
screen monitor and EPAC facility through intranet have made the Library user
friendly. Digital Library, CD services, VTU, DELNET and Indian National Digital
Library memberships for E-Resources, book banks, reading rooms, reprographic
facility are the symbol of excellence.

11. Rules for Circulation Section
• Students have to produce the Identity Card &
Borrower’s Tickets for borrowing the books from the
Library.
• Students have to write four titles in preferential order
in the demand slip one day before the date of issue as
per the day & time mentioned in the schedule.
• Students may return the Books for 15 days from the
date of issue unless it is recalled by the Librarian.
• If Student fail’s to return the Book/s within the due
date, a fine of Rs 1/- per day per book will be levied.

12. • Loss or damage to books shall have to be made good
by the Students.
• Tearing of pages marking with pencil/pen in the
Books etc, is forbidden.
• Students have to return all the Library Books
immediately after completion of Semester End
Examination. (SEE)

• Set of 4 books will be issued to the SC/ST
Students for a semester
• To avail the facility, the Students have to
submit Application form along with Caste
Certificate duly attested by the Gazetted
Officer and Photo copies of CET allotment
card, Admission receipt.
• Identity card is compulsory.
• If He / She fail’s to return the Book/s within
said time, a fine of Rs.5/- per day per Book
will be levied.
