Week 4: Development Strategy
TBD – 12/13/17
For this assignment, you will develop 3 proposals for your
development strategy, which include outsourcing (buy),
insourcing (make), or a combination of both. You will present
the pros and cons of each, along with a financial analysis.
Finally, you will make a recommendation on which is the best
6. proposal or strategy.
Develop a proposal for each of these approaches: insourcing,
outsourcing, and a combination of the two.
Present the pros and cons or benefit analysis for each of the 3
proposals.
Perform a financial analysis of the total costs for each proposal
that includes ongoing support and maintenance.
Recommend 1 of these proposals and your reason for selection
of that proposal.
Week 5: Integration and Deployment Plan
TBD – 12/20/17
In the final week, you are given the assignment to craft an
integration and deployment plan for your selected application or
system that includes the required resources and work breakdown
structure of implementation tasks (you may use Visio Software
Application where needed).
Develop an overall work breakdown structure (WBS) for the 7
system development life cycle (SDLC) phases:
o Preliminary Analysis
o System Analysis or Requirements Definition
o System Design
o Development
o Integration and Testing
o Acceptance, Installation, and Deployment
o Operation Support and Maintenance
7. Add activities under the first 5 phases that you already
performed in Weeks 1–4.
Add activities that are specific to the final 2 phases in SDLC for
deployment and ongoing maintenance and support.
