This User’s Guide will show you how to configure Advance Care IP Nurse Call System Dementia Management
software.
There are three types of specially marked text used throughout this guide.
This is a note. It provides additional information that may be important in the area that you are currently reading.
This is a tip. It provides additional information that may assist you to complete a task in another way.
This is a warning. It highlights an action or task that must be completed exactly as stated.

INTRODUCTION
Welcome
The Advance Care IP Nurse Call System is a digital nurse station from which the activities of your facility’s
patients and staff can be monitored and controlled. This guide focuses on how to configure and use the Dementia
Management section of the software in the Admin Menu, and assumes you have a basic understanding of the
Nurse Call System - see Advance Care IP Nurse Call System Software Admin Menu Handbook.
The Dementia Management section can be used to:
●
● Change start times for Day Shift Mode and Night Shift Mode
●
● Change Alarm settings
●
● Change Dementia Control functions
●
● Assign different settings to different dementia groups
●
● Lock Dementia Keypads to stop tampering

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The Admin Menu Page
The Admin Menu contains button links to all the sections of the Nurse Call System that a facility manager requires
to use the software.
This guide focuses on the Dementia Management section.
Dementia Management Button

To Start
To access the Dementia Management page:
1. From the Admin Menu, click on the Dementia Management button.
The Dementia Management Page
The major components of the Dementia Management page are described below. There are two page views within
the main page - Dementia Profiling and Dementia Shifts. Dementia Profiling is the default page, as shown below
(Note at the top of the page that the currently selected page view name is highlighted in blue).

Back Button
The Main Display Panel will display the text ‘To begin select an area from the Site Tree’, until a room with a dementia keypad is selected from the Area
Hierarchy Tree.

Page View Buttons
The Dementia Profiling button takes you to the Dementia Profiling page view. This is the default
page view on the Dementia Management page.
The Dementia Shifts button takes you to the Dementia Shifts page view.
Area Display Panel
The Area Display Panel displays the hierarchical tree that represents the facility’s buildings, wings and rooms that
are equipped with dementia keypads.

Main Display Panel
The Main Display Panel displays information relevant to the object selected in the Area Display panel. i.e. When a
room with a dementia keypad is selected, the configuration controls for that corresponding keypad will be displayed
in the Main Display panel.
Area Hierarchy Tree
The Area Hierarchy Tree is a representation of the physical structure of the facility, showing areas such as blocks,
wings and rooms where dementia keypads are located.
Area Hierarchy Tree Search Box
Using the Area Hierarchy Tree Search Box you can quickly search for a specific area (e.g block, wing, room
number, etc), without manually drilling down.

Back Button
The Back Button will take you back to the previous screen.
Dementia Control Configuration Screen
When you select a room from the area hierarchy tree, the Dementia Control Configuration Screen will be
displayed in the main panel. The major components of the screen are described below. From this screen you can
configure all the settings for how the dementia keypad will respond to alarms and other functions.

Alarm Sensor Buttons Configuration Menus
The above menus relate directly to the alarm sensor buttons on the Dementia Keypad.
From the configuration menus you can set the alarm time delay for:
●
● Bed Exit - How long a patient can remain out of their bed.
●
● Ensuite - How long a patient can spend in the ensuite area.
●
● Door PIR - Can be set to ‘instant’ or ‘not used’ to activate an alarm if a patient exits the room.
●
● Auxiliary - Can be set to ‘instant’ or ‘not used’ to activate an alarm if an auxiliary device is installed.
The above settings can be individually configured for Day Shift, Night Shift and Manual modes.

Alarm Sensor Buttons

Dementia Control Menus
The above menus allow you to:
●
● Change a dementia group assigned to a shift. You can create up to 10 shifts with different start times for day
and night modes.
●
● Set a pause time out delay for the dementia keypad - the pause time out delay is the amount of time a nurse
can spend in a room without activating an alarm when the keypad is in ‘pause’ mode.
●
● Set a door entry and/or door exit time delay - this is the amount of time that a nurse can take to enter or exit
a room without activating an alarm.
●
● Turn alarm tones for the dementia keypad on or off - if checked this will allow alarms and other tones to be
heard through the keypad.
●
● Lock or unlock the keypad by switching the On/Off button pause function on or off.

Save Settings Button
This button will save any settings you make to the Dementia Control Configuration Screen.

The Dementia Shifts Page
From the Dementia Shifts page you can configure various settings relating to shifts. The major components of the
Dementia Shifts page are described below.
Page View Buttons
The Dementia Shifts button takes you to the Dementia Shifts page view. If you are viewing this
page the button will be highlighted in blue.
The Dementia Profiling button takes you to the Dementia Profiling page view.

Group Name
Group Name lists all the available groups that have been set up in the Dementia Shifts edit screen.
Day/Night Shift Mode Start Times
Day Shift Mode and Night Shift Mode Start Times display the times that each of the modes have been set up to
begin. There are no ‘End Times’ as the start time of each mode automatically ends the previous mode.
The current shift, i.e. day or night is highlighted in green.
Edit Buttons
The Edit Buttons allow you to change the start times for Day Shift Mode and Night Shift Mode for individual
groups.

The Dementia Shifts Edit Screen
From the Dementia Shifts edit screen you can change the Group Name and the start times of Day Shift and Night
Shift modes. You can also ‘force’ a shift from day to night mode and vice versa. The major components of the
Dementia Shifts edit screen are described below.
Group Name Text Box
You can change the name of the dementia group in this text box. You can have up to ten group names/dementia
shifts.
Day Shift Start Time Drop Down Menu
You can change the start time of Day Shift Mode from this drop down menu.

Save Changes Button
Clicking this button will save any changes made to the Dementia Shifts edit screen.
Cancel Button
Clicking this button will close the Dementia Shifts edit screen without saving changes.
Close Window Button
Clicking this button will close the Dementia Shifts edit screen without saving changes.

CONFIGURING THE KEYPAD
From the Dementia Profiling page there are a number of settings that can be configured for the Dementia Keypad to
suit the way you work.You can:
●
● Change start times for Day Shift Mode and Night Shift Mode
●
● Change Alarm settings
●
● Change Dementia Control settings
●
● Assign different settings to different dementia groups
●
● Lock Dementia Keypads to stop tampering
Changing Settings on the Alarm Sensor Buttons
Configuration Menu
First, do the following:
1. From the Dementia Profiling page, drill down the Area Hierarchy Tree until a room is displayed.
2. Click on the Room button.
3. Observe that the Dementia Control Configuration screen is displayed in the Main panel.
From here you can make the following changes to the alarm sensor button settings:
Changing Bed Exit Settings
To change the settings for the Bed Exit button do the following:
1. Click on a drop down menu from any or all of the three modes (Day, Night or Manual).
2. Select a menu item. Choose from ‘Not Used’, ‘Instant’, or any time setting in the available range.
3. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting.
4. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel.

Changing Ensuite Settings
To change the settings for the Ensuite button do the following:
1. Click on a drop down menu from any or all of the three modes (Day, Night or Manual).
2. Select a menu item. Choose from ‘Not Used’, ‘Instant’, or any time setting in the available range.
3. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting.
4. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel.
Changing Door PIR Settings
To change the settings for the Door button do the following:
1. Click on a drop down menu from any or all of the three modes (Day, Night or Manual).
2. Select a menu item. Choose from ‘Not Used’ or ‘Instant’.
3. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting.
4. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel.
Door PIR drop down menus do not have time range menu items.

Changing Auxiliary Settings
To change the settings for the Auxiliary button do the following:
1. Click on a drop down menu from any or all of the three modes (Day, Night or Manual).
2. Select a menu item. Choose from ‘Not Used’ or ‘Instant’.
3. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting.
4. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel.
Auxiliary drop down menus do not have time range menu items.
Changing Dementia Control Functions
First, do the following:
1. From the Dementia Profiling page, drill down the Area Hierarchy Tree until a room is displayed.
2. Click on the Room button.
3. Observe that the Dementia Control Configuration screen is displayed in the Main panel.
From here you can make the following changes to the dementia control settings:
Changing Dementia Group Settings
To change the Dementia Group assigned to a room do the following:
1. Click on the drop down menu for Dementia Group.
2. Select a menu item. Choose from one of the available groups.

3. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting.
4. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel.

Changing Pause Time Out Settings
To change the Pause Time Out settings for a dementia keypad do the following:
1. Click on the drop down menu for Pause Time Out.
2. Select a menu item. Choose from one of the available menu items.
3. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting.
4. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel.

Changing Door Entry Delay Settings
To change the Door Entry Delay settings for a room do the following:
1. Click on the drop down menu for Door Entry Delay.
2. Select a menu item. Choose from one of the available menu items.
3. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting.
4. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel.

Changing Door Exit Delay Settings
To change the Door Exit Delay settings for a room do the following:
1. Click on the drop down menu for Door Exit Delay.
2. Select a menu item. Choose from one of the available menu items.
3. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting.
4. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel.

Turn On/Turn Off Play Alarm Tones
To turn ‘On’ Play Alarm Tones on the dementia keypad do the following:
1. Click on the check box for Play Alarm Tones to select it.
2. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel.
To turn ‘Off’ Play Alarm Tones on the dementia keypad do the following:
1. Click on the check box for Play Alarm Tones to de-select it.
2. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel.

Lock/Unlock Dementia Keypad
To ‘unlock’ the dementia keypad do the following:
1. Click on the check box for On/Off Button Pauses to select it.
2. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel.
To ‘lock’ the dementia keypad do the following:
1. Click on the check box for On/Off Button Pauses to de-select it.
2. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel.

CONFIGURING THE SHIFTS
From the Dementia Shifts edit screen you can change the Group Name and the start times of Day Shift and Night
Shift modes. You can also ‘force’ a shift from day to night mode or vice versa.
Switch to the Dementia Shifts Page
First, do the following:
1. To view the Dementia Shifts page, click the Dementia Shifts button on the Dementia Management page.
2. Observe that the Dementia Shifts page is displayed.
Display the Dementia Shifts Edit Screen
To display the Dementia Shifts edit screen:
1. Click on the Edit button at the right hand side of whichever group you want to edit.
2. Observe that the Dementia Shifts edit screen is displayed.
Change the Group Name
To change the Group Name do the following:
1. Delete or highlight the current group name in the text box.
2. Type a new name.
3. Click the Save Changes button to save the new name, or click Cancel to leave the screen without changes.

Change the Day Mode Start Time
To change the Day Mode Start Time do the following:
1. Click on the Hour (HH) drop down menu for Day Mode Start Time.
2. Select a menu item that represents the hours of a day.
3. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting.
4. Click on the Minute (MM) drop down menu for Day Mode Start Time.
5. Select a menu item that represents the minutes of a day.
6. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting.
7. Click the Save Changes button to save the new time, or click Cancel to leave the screen without changes.
Change the Night Mode Start Time
To change the Night Mode Start Time do the following:
1. Click on the Hour (HH) drop down menu for Night Mode Start Time.
2. Select a menu item that represents the hours of a night.
3. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting.
4. Click on the Minute (MM) drop down menu for Night Mode Start Time.
5. Select a menu item that represents the minutes of a night.
6. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting.
7. Click the Save Changes button to save the new time, or click Cancel to leave the screen without changes.

Forcing a Shift
To force the shift from Day Mode to Night Mode do the following:
1. On any Group line double-click the words ‘Night Mode’ currently displayed in white text.
2. Observe that the words ‘Night Mode’ change to green text.
That group has now been forced into Night Mode. To switch back to Day Mode, double-click the words ‘Day
Mode’. The Dementia Keypad will now function with all the attributes of whichever mode is displayed in green.

SEARCH FUNCTION
Using the Search Site Map text box, you can quickly locate an area (e.g. a specific block, wing or room number),
or group of areas (e.g. all areas with the word ‘room’ in them) without drilling down through a long list in the area
hierarchy tree.
Search Site Map
To search for an area in the hierarchy tree do the following:
1. From the Dementia Profiling page, click inside the Search Site Map text box.
2. Start typing the name or word you are searching for. Observe that if you pause while typing, the preemptive
search function will start to list areas that correspond to the characters you have already typed.
Finish typing and wait or hit the Enter key on your keyboard. Observe that the Area Hierarchy Tree will display
all areas that contain the characters you have entered in the search box.

  • 7. 1 INTRODUCTION Welcome The Advance Care IP Nurse Call System is a digital nurse station from which the activities of your facility’s patients and staff can be monitored and controlled. This guide focuses on how to configure and use the Dementia Management section of the software in the Admin Menu, and assumes you have a basic understanding of the Nurse Call System - see Advance Care IP Nurse Call System Software Admin Menu Handbook. The Dementia Management section can be used to: ● ● Change start times for Day Shift Mode and Night Shift Mode ● ● Change Alarm settings ● ● Change Dementia Control functions ● ● Assign different settings to different dementia groups ● ● Lock Dementia Keypads to stop tampering
  • 8. 2 WORKING ENVIRONMENT The Admin Menu Page The Admin Menu contains button links to all the sections of the Nurse Call System that a facility manager requires to use the software. This guide focuses on the Dementia Management section. Dementia Management Button
  • 9. 3 To Start To access the Dementia Management page: 1. From the Admin Menu, click on the Dementia Management button. The Dementia Management Page The major components of the Dementia Management page are described below. There are two page views within the main page - Dementia Profiling and Dementia Shifts. Dementia Profiling is the default page, as shown below (Note at the top of the page that the currently selected page view name is highlighted in blue). Page View Buttons - Dementia Profiling and Dementia Shifts Area Hierarchy Tree Main Display Panel Area Hierarchy Tree Search Box Area Display Panel Nurse Call System Menu Items - refer to Nurse Call System Software Admin Menu Handbook Back Button The Main Display Panel will display the text ‘To begin select an area from the Site Tree’, until a room with a dementia keypad is selected from the Area Hierarchy Tree.
  • 10. 4 Page View Buttons The Dementia Profiling button takes you to the Dementia Profiling page view. This is the default page view on the Dementia Management page. The Dementia Shifts button takes you to the Dementia Shifts page view. Area Display Panel The Area Display Panel displays the hierarchical tree that represents the facility’s buildings, wings and rooms that are equipped with dementia keypads.
  • 11. 5 Main Display Panel The Main Display Panel displays information relevant to the object selected in the Area Display panel. i.e. When a room with a dementia keypad is selected, the configuration controls for that corresponding keypad will be displayed in the Main Display panel. Area Hierarchy Tree The Area Hierarchy Tree is a representation of the physical structure of the facility, showing areas such as blocks, wings and rooms where dementia keypads are located. Area Hierarchy Tree Search Box Using the Area Hierarchy Tree Search Box you can quickly search for a specific area (e.g block, wing, room number, etc), without manually drilling down.
  • 12. 6 Back Button The Back Button will take you back to the previous screen. Dementia Control Configuration Screen When you select a room from the area hierarchy tree, the Dementia Control Configuration Screen will be displayed in the main panel. The major components of the screen are described below. From this screen you can configure all the settings for how the dementia keypad will respond to alarms and other functions. Alarm Sensor Buttons Configuration Menus Dementia Control Menus Save Settings Button Main Display Panel
  • 13. 7 Alarm Sensor Buttons Configuration Menus The above menus relate directly to the alarm sensor buttons on the Dementia Keypad. From the configuration menus you can set the alarm time delay for: ● ● Bed Exit - How long a patient can remain out of their bed. ● ● Ensuite - How long a patient can spend in the ensuite area. ● ● Door PIR - Can be set to ‘instant’ or ‘not used’ to activate an alarm if a patient exits the room. ● ● Auxiliary - Can be set to ‘instant’ or ‘not used’ to activate an alarm if an auxiliary device is installed. The above settings can be individually configured for Day Shift, Night Shift and Manual modes.   • 14. 8 Dementia Control Menus The above menus allow you to: ● ● Change a dementia group assigned to a shift. You can create up to 10 shifts with different start times for day and night modes. ● ● Set a pause time out delay for the dementia keypad - the pause time out delay is the amount of time a nurse can spend in a room without activating an alarm when the keypad is in ‘pause’ mode. ● ● Set a door entry and/or door exit time delay - this is the amount of time that a nurse can take to enter or exit a room without activating an alarm. ● ● Turn alarm tones for the dementia keypad on or off - if checked this will allow alarms and other tones to be heard through the keypad. ● ● Lock or unlock the keypad by switching the On/Off button pause function on or off. Save Settings Button This button will save any settings you make to the Dementia Control Configuration Screen.
  • 15. 9 The Dementia Shifts Page From the Dementia Shifts page you can configure various settings relating to shifts. The major components of the Dementia Shifts page are described below. Page View Buttons The Dementia Shifts button takes you to the Dementia Shifts page view. If you are viewing this page the button will be highlighted in blue. The Dementia Profiling button takes you to the Dementia Profiling page view. Page View Buttons Group Name Edit Buttons Night Shift Mode Start Times Day Shift Mode Start Times Back Button
  • 16. 10 Group Name Group Name lists all the available groups that have been set up in the Dementia Shifts edit screen. Day/Night Shift Mode Start Times Day Shift Mode and Night Shift Mode Start Times display the times that each of the modes have been set up to begin. There are no ‘End Times’ as the start time of each mode automatically ends the previous mode. The current shift, i.e. day or night is highlighted in green. Edit Buttons The Edit Buttons allow you to change the start times for Day Shift Mode and Night Shift Mode for individual groups.
  • 17. 11 The Dementia Shifts Edit Screen From the Dementia Shifts edit screen you can change the Group Name and the start times of Day Shift and Night Shift modes. You can also ‘force’ a shift from day to night mode and vice versa. The major components of the Dementia Shifts edit screen are described below. Group Name Text Box You can change the name of the dementia group in this text box. You can have up to ten group names/dementia shifts. Day Shift Start Time Drop Down Menu You can change the start time of Day Shift Mode from this drop down menu. Day Shift Start Time Drop Down Menu Night Shift Start Time Drop Down Menu Close Window Button Save Changes Button Cancel Button Group Name Text Box
  • 18. 12 Night Shift Start Time Drop Down Menu You can change the start time of Night Shift Mode from this drop down menu. Save Changes Button Clicking this button will save any changes made to the Dementia Shifts edit screen. Cancel Button Clicking this button will close the Dementia Shifts edit screen without saving changes. Close Window Button Clicking this button will close the Dementia Shifts edit screen without saving changes.
  • 19. 13 CONFIGURING THE KEYPAD From the Dementia Profiling page there are a number of settings that can be configured for the Dementia Keypad to suit the way you work.You can: ● ● Change start times for Day Shift Mode and Night Shift Mode ● ● Change Alarm settings ● ● Change Dementia Control settings ● ● Assign different settings to different dementia groups ● ● Lock Dementia Keypads to stop tampering Changing Settings on the Alarm Sensor Buttons Configuration Menu First, do the following: 1. From the Dementia Profiling page, drill down the Area Hierarchy Tree until a room is displayed. 2. Click on the Room button. 3. Observe that the Dementia Control Configuration screen is displayed in the Main panel. From here you can make the following changes to the alarm sensor button settings: Changing Bed Exit Settings To change the settings for the Bed Exit button do the following: 1. Click on a drop down menu from any or all of the three modes (Day, Night or Manual). 2. Select a menu item. Choose from ‘Not Used’, ‘Instant’, or any time setting in the available range. 3. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting. 4. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel.
  • 20. 14 Changing Ensuite Settings To change the settings for the Ensuite button do the following: 1. Click on a drop down menu from any or all of the three modes (Day, Night or Manual). 2. Select a menu item. Choose from ‘Not Used’, ‘Instant’, or any time setting in the available range. 3. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting. 4. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel. Changing Door PIR Settings To change the settings for the Door button do the following: 1. Click on a drop down menu from any or all of the three modes (Day, Night or Manual). 2. Select a menu item. Choose from ‘Not Used’ or ‘Instant’. 3. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting. 4. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel. Door PIR drop down menus do not have time range menu items.
  • 21. 15 Changing Auxiliary Settings To change the settings for the Auxiliary button do the following: 1. Click on a drop down menu from any or all of the three modes (Day, Night or Manual). 2. Select a menu item. Choose from ‘Not Used’ or ‘Instant’. 3. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting. 4. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel. Auxiliary drop down menus do not have time range menu items. Changing Dementia Control Functions First, do the following: 1. From the Dementia Profiling page, drill down the Area Hierarchy Tree until a room is displayed. 2. Click on the Room button. 3. Observe that the Dementia Control Configuration screen is displayed in the Main panel. From here you can make the following changes to the dementia control settings: Changing Dementia Group Settings To change the Dementia Group assigned to a room do the following: 1. Click on the drop down menu for Dementia Group. 2. Select a menu item. Choose from one of the available groups.

Changing Pause Time Out Settings To change the Pause Time Out settings for a dementia keypad do the following: 1. Click on the drop down menu for Pause Time Out. 2. Select a menu item. Choose from one of the available menu items. 3. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting. 4. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel. Changing Door Entry Delay Settings To change the Door Entry Delay settings for a room do the following: 1. Click on the drop down menu for Door Entry Delay. 2. Select a menu item. Choose from one of the available menu items. 3. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting. 4. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel.   • 23. 17 Changing Door Exit Delay Settings To change the Door Exit Delay settings for a room do the following: 1. Click on the drop down menu for Door Exit Delay. 2. Select a menu item. Choose from one of the available menu items. 3. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting. 4. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel. Turn On/Turn Off Play Alarm Tones To turn ‘On’ Play Alarm Tones on the dementia keypad do the following: 1. Click on the check box for Play Alarm Tones to select it. 2. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel. To turn ‘Off’ Play Alarm Tones on the dementia keypad do the following: 1. Click on the check box for Play Alarm Tones to de-select it. 2. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel.
  • 24. 18 Lock/Unlock Dementia Keypad To ‘unlock’ the dementia keypad do the following: 1. Click on the check box for On/Off Button Pauses to select it. 2. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel. To ‘lock’ the dementia keypad do the following: 1. Click on the check box for On/Off Button Pauses to de-select it. 2. Click the Save Settings button in the Main panel.
  • 25. 19 CONFIGURING THE SHIFTS From the Dementia Shifts edit screen you can change the Group Name and the start times of Day Shift and Night Shift modes. You can also ‘force’ a shift from day to night mode or vice versa. Switch to the Dementia Shifts Page First, do the following: 1. To view the Dementia Shifts page, click the Dementia Shifts button on the Dementia Management page. 2. Observe that the Dementia Shifts page is displayed. Display the Dementia Shifts Edit Screen To display the Dementia Shifts edit screen: 1. Click on the Edit button at the right hand side of whichever group you want to edit. 2. Observe that the Dementia Shifts edit screen is displayed. Change the Group Name To change the Group Name do the following: 1. Delete or highlight the current group name in the text box. 2. Type a new name. 3. Click the Save Changes button to save the new name, or click Cancel to leave the screen without changes.
  • 26. 20 Change the Day Mode Start Time To change the Day Mode Start Time do the following: 1. Click on the Hour (HH) drop down menu for Day Mode Start Time. 2. Select a menu item that represents the hours of a day. 3. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting. 4. Click on the Minute (MM) drop down menu for Day Mode Start Time. 5. Select a menu item that represents the minutes of a day. 6. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting. 7. Click the Save Changes button to save the new time, or click Cancel to leave the screen without changes. Change the Night Mode Start Time To change the Night Mode Start Time do the following: 1. Click on the Hour (HH) drop down menu for Night Mode Start Time. 2. Select a menu item that represents the hours of a night. 3. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting. 4. Click on the Minute (MM) drop down menu for Night Mode Start Time. 5. Select a menu item that represents the minutes of a night. 6. Click on the selected menu item to change the setting. 7. Click the Save Changes button to save the new time, or click Cancel to leave the screen without changes.
  • 27. 21 Forcing a Shift To force the shift from Day Mode to Night Mode do the following: 1. On any Group line double-click the words ‘Night Mode’ currently displayed in white text. 2. Observe that the words ‘Night Mode’ change to green text. That group has now been forced into Night Mode. To switch back to Day Mode, double-click the words ‘Day Mode’. The Dementia Keypad will now function with all the attributes of whichever mode is displayed in green.
  • 28. 22 SEARCH FUNCTION Using the Search Site Map text box, you can quickly locate an area (e.g. a specific block, wing or room number), or group of areas (e.g. all areas with the word ‘room’ in them) without drilling down through a long list in the area hierarchy tree. Search Site Map To search for an area in the hierarchy tree do the following: 1. From the Dementia Profiling page, click inside the Search Site Map text box. 2. Start typing the name or word you are searching for. Observe that if you pause while typing, the preemptive search function will start to list areas that correspond to the characters you have already typed. Finish typing and wait or hit the Enter key on your keyboard. Observe that the Area Hierarchy Tree will display all areas that contain the characters you have entered in the search box.
