Aprendizajes esperados:
1. Utilizar de acuerdo al contexto: verbo to be, el tiempo verbal “simple present”
2. Responder preguntas acerca de la rutina diaria de Fred.
SIMPLE PRESENT
This tense is used to referring to events, actions, and conditions that are happening all the time, or exist
now. To check in detail the main uses, look at the chart.
Uses Examples:
1. Something that is true in the present. - I’m nineteen years old.
- He lives in Santiago.
- She is a student.
-
2. Something that happens again and again
in the present (routines). We use words
like sometimes, often. Always, and never
(adverbs of frequency) with the present
tense.
- I play football every weekend.
- I sometimes go to the cinema.
- She never plays football.
3. Something that is always true. - The adult human body contains 206
bones.
- Light travels at almost 300,000 kilometers
per second.
4. Something that is fixed in the future
(schedules).
- The school term starts next week.
- The train leaves at 19:45 this evening.
- We fly to Puerto Montt next week.
As you could see above, the Simple Present is formed , from the bare infinitive of the verb. As shown in the
following examples, the bare infinitive of a verb consists of the infinitive without the word “to”. That’s how
we conjugate verbs.
