The main landscape in the Xiangshan scenic spot is like the name of
an elephant. The Elephant Trunk Hill is located at the confluence of
the Minjiang River and the Taohua River in Guilin. It was named

Development History
Xiangshan, also known as Elephant Trunk Hill, is located in the
Lijiang River in Guilin. Elephant Trunk Hill has been a tourist
attraction since the Tang Dynasty and has a history of nearly 1,000
years of development.
In 1986, the Xiangshan Park Management Office was established. In
2001, Xiangshan and Fubo Mountain and Diecai Mountain were
merged together to be called the Xiangshan Scenic Area Management
Office. In 2007, the Binjiangjing District was used as the management
office of the Mountain Scenic Area. In 2014, the two rivers and four
lakes scenic spots and Xiangshan Mountain Scenic Area, under the
guidance of the superior company Guilin Tourism Development
Corporation and Guilin Tourism Co., Ltd., began to work on the
creation of the 5A-level scenic spot, and decided to put Xiangshan,
Diecaishan, Fu Boshan and the two rivers and four lakes form the

Attractions

Main Attractions
Shuiyue Cave
In the back mountain of Elephant Trunk Hill, there is a 19-meter-high,
3.3-meter-wide, and 13-meter-long, north-south facing semi-closed
passage. It is named after the nose rock because of the back side of
the elephant trunk.
There is a canopy-shaped semi-circular hole between the elephant
trunk and the elephant leg of the Elephant Trunk Hill. When the

Shuiyue Cave is an old wharf in Guilin in ancient times. It is said that

wall of Shuiyue Cave, Zhang Xiaoxiang’s [Chaoyang Pavilion] and
[Chaoyang Pavilion Poetry] are engraved. In 1165, Zhang Xiaoxiang
went to Guilin to serve as the appreciator of Guangxi Jingjiang, and
[Zhang Xiaoxiang’s word Anguo, No. The famous poet of the Southern
Song Dynasty, who served in Guilin for two years, will leave his post
in 1167, so his friend Zhang Wei will set up a banquet for him in the
scenic pavilion next to Shuiyue Cave and name it for the pavilion. To

There are more than 50 stone carvings in Shuiyue Cave, most of
which belong to the Song people. Speaking of poetry in the Song

inland tour of Shuiyue Cave. There are four books in total, and the

Puxian Tower
Puxian Tower was built in the Ming Dynasty. It is a lama-style solid
brick tower. It has a history of more than 400 years. The tower is
13.6 meters high. Because the tower is embedded in the north of the
tower, there is a statue of a bodhisattva in the bluestone line. There is
no sage of the Bodhisattva, the six sons of the real book, hence the

name of the Puxian Tower. In addition to the Mount Emei of Sichuan,
the stupa dedicated to the Samantabhadra in the country is the
Elephant Trunk Hill of Guilin! Puxian Bodhisattva is one of the four
great bodhisattvas of Chinese Buddhism: Pu is universal, sage is the
meaning of goodness, and Puxian Bodhisattva is known as the Virtue.
It is the right flank of Sakyamuni Buddha, specializing in “Lie”. He
made ten wishes: to do his best to promote the Dharma, hence the
name “Da Xing Pu Xian”. About Pu Xian’s life experience, “Shen Hua
Jing” said that he is the eighth son of Guanyin of Amitabha, the
faculty of Western bliss, and the general trend is that Manjusri is a
brother. The sages are well-received, and the trials are quiet and
unremarkable. Therefore, the Puxian seems to be a mount. It is a six-
toothed white elephant, symbolizing the willingness to do so and the
merits are complete.
The Puxian Tower was built on the top of Xiangshan Mountain. It is
an extremely vivid reflection of Buddhism’s saying about the Puxian
Bodhisattva by elephant. The shape of the whole tower is like a
treasure bottle, also known as the Aquarius Tower. Elephants are a
symbol of good fortune in many Asian countries. Elephants and
treasures symbolize peace, beauty and happiness.

Sending a statue of Guanyin
On the cliff behind the Yunfeng Temple in the south of the Elephant
Trunk Hill, there is a glimpse of the “Guanzi Guanyin” in the Tang
Dynasty. It has a history of more than a thousand years. This is the
only colorful cliff statue in Guilin. More precisely, this is called
“Murray’s mother image.” The main image is 诃 (hē 音 )) Li Yumu,
dressed in Chinese costume, wearing a crown, holding a child on his
lap, sitting on the lotus platform, behind the body with a circular
flame body and head light. On both sides of the main image, each

It is said that there is a beautiful gopés in the ancient Indian

celebrate the birth of the sacred Buddha, the 500 people who went to
the meeting knew that the cowherd had been pregnant, but forced her
to dance. Her fetus fell to the ground and died, and she was
abandoned by her husband. She was full of sorrow and gave a
poisonous oath. In the afterlife, she wanted to cast a living in Wang
Shecheng, and she ate the children in the city and committed suicide.
Later, she really gave birth to Wang Shecheng, who was the daughter
of the god of medicine. She married the devil half, and gave birth to
five hundred sons. 诃利谛母原 is a god of evil – the mother-in-law, the
mother of five hundred devils, commonly known as “the devil”. She
did not forget the vows, and she was going to eat the children of other
people every day, so she was also called “the wicked mother.”
This incident shocked Sakyamuni. In order to save the innocent
children of Wang Shecheng, she decided to educate the devils with
compassion. Sakyamuni rushed to persuade her, but she could not
listen to it, and she did not want to change evil. Sakyamuni saw that
the persuasion could not be achieved, and the heart gave birth to a
plan. When she went out to eat other children’s children, she hid the
most beloved one of her 500 sons. When the devil’s mother came
back, she found that she had one child missing. She missed it very
much and wept sobbed all day. Sakyamuni took the opportunity to

educate her and said: “You have to compare your heart. You have five
hundred children. Only one is lost. It is so sad. You go to eat a child
from someone else’s house every day. Can parents be able to stand
it?” The devil’s mother wakes up like a dream, repents, and never
eats the children of other people’s homes. She has since changed her
evil spirits and has protected all children in the world from growing
up. She later converted to Buddhism and acted as a protector. People
respected her so much that she could change her mind and remember
to build a temple for her. Because the Chinese folk is a prolific
mother, the goddess of mercy who guards the young child with the
devil mother, she often worships her as a “send a son” or “send a
child Guanyin”.
“Southwestern Guarantee”
[In the middle of the mountain in the mountains of the Elephant
Trunk Hill] The giant list “Southwestern Guarantee” was inscribed in
the winter of 1935 by the Chief of Staff of the 15th National Army of
the National Revolutionary Army, indicating that Guilin has been the
political, economic, and military center of the South since ancient
times. . He Xuan, the word Xiaofu, No. Guisheng, was born in June
1891 in a carpenter family in Xiaoshidong Village, Da Li Gang Town,
Taojiang County, Yiyang, Hunan. At the age of 5, she lost her father
and raised her mother by her mother Lu. Although the family is poor,

but diligent, good poetry, fine calligraphy, the book is based on He
Shaoji’s body, quite famous. He joined the army in 1911 and graduated
from the 3rd step of the Baoding Army Military Academy. He was
with the famous generals of the Kuomintang such as Bai Chongxi,
Zhang Zhizhong, Xia Wei, Huang Shaozhen and Ye Qi.
In July 1935, Ye Qi, the then chief of staff of the 4th Army, was killed
and He Xuan went to Guangxi to mourn. Li Zongren and Bai
Chongzhen invited him to stay in Guangxi, where he served as the
chief of staff and the commander of the army. In February 1936, the
National Government officially awarded the commemorative medal of
the rank of lieutenant general of the army and the 10th anniversary of
the swearing-in of the National Revolutionary Army.
After returning to Guangxi, He Xuan became the chief of staff of the
15th Army and the commander of the army, responsible for the
defense of Guilin and surrounding counties. During the period, every
Wednesday and Saturday, he will summon his officers to tell the “Sun
Tzu’s Art of War” in conjunction with current events or war cases.
Every time the auditorium is always packed, even the aisles are full of
people. Whenever he talked about how to use the weaknesses of the

In order to defend effectively, he built a solid bunker and transport
dark lane in the Elephant Trunk Hill. In order to stabilize the people’s
hearts and inspire the fighting spirit, he organized a team of darts

discipline in urban and rural areas. On the mountain gate of Elephant
Trunk Hill, he personally wrote and asked the mason to chisel the
“Southwestern Guarantee” one foot and two feet wide. Four large

and it has become an indelible imprint of the people of Guilin to fight
against the Japanese.

Yunfeng Temple
Located in the southwestern part of the Elephant Trunk Hill, Yunfeng
Temple is a double-topped horse head wall, a green ancient temple
with a red roof. According to legend, in the Tang Dynasty, Wenling
Temple was built here. In the 50th year of Qing Emperor Kangxi
(1711), Pan Hu went to Guilin to serve as the garrison of the Guangxi
dynasty right camp. After the 7th year of Gui, even in the early
autumn, Wen Wenchang’s so-called Elephant Trunk Hill Can be

of Buddha, Taoism and Panwang in the temple. It is one of the famous
ancient temples in Guilin. The existing Temple Yu was built in 1978
by the Guilin Cultural Relics Management Committee with reference
to the original construction system. It is a two-storey, hard-mountain,
two-storey antique building. There is an atrium, a small courtyard, a
release pool surrounded by cliffs, and on the back of the temple wall,
there is a statue of Guanyin Cliff in the Tang Dynasty.
In the second year of Qing Xianfeng (1852), the Taiping Heavenly
National Army attacked Guilin and set up the front line command of
the South Road in Yunfeng Temple. Yunfeng Temple became one of
the important activities of Taiping Jun Road through Guilin. Although

there are mountains everywhere in Guilin, only the Elephant Trunk
Hill is a Pingding Mountain. When Hong Xiuquan led a military attack
on Guilin, it was the peak of the mountain in the Xiangshan

Guilin for 34 days around the top of the Puxian Tower on the top of

Sanhua Wine Cellar
There are caves in Guilin Mountain and there are treasures in the
