Ba Songcuo is also known as the Gaogao Lake. The Tibetan language
means “green water”. It is about 18 kilometers long, with a lake area
of about 27 square kilometers, the deepest point is 120 meters, and
the lake is 3480 meters above sea level. Located in the high gorge
deep valley of the upper reaches of Bahe, about 36 kilometers away
from Bahe Town, Gongbu County, it is a famous Shenhu and holy land
of Hongjiao.
Ba Songcuo was awarded the National Scenic Area in 1994 and was
included in the World Tourism Area (point) by the World Tourism
Organization. In 2000, it was rated as the first national 4A level
scenic spot by the National Tourism Administration. In 2001, it was
awarded by the State Forestry Department. Forest Park title.
In August 2017, it became the first and only natural scenic country
5A-level tourist scenic spot in Tibet.
Travel information
The Linzhi City Passenger Transport Center has a shuttle bus to Ba
Songqian, about 120 kilometers, with a fare of 60 yuan and a 2-2.5
hour drive. The cost of chartered cars varies from model to vehicle,
usually around 500 yuan a day, or in terms of kilometers, ranging
from 4-5 yuan per kilometer.
Depart from downtown Lhasa, climb the Mira Mountain Pass along
the Lin Lagao Highway, and drive for about 320 kilometers to Bahe
Town (about 3 hours by car, with a speed limit of 100Km/h). The exit

Shenhu and holy land of the Red Church (Ningma School of Tibetan
Buddhism). Although Ba Songcuo is deeply hidden in the ravines

Basongcuo Lake by about 36 kilometers north of Bahe Town.
