Grade 2 students at The Modern School in Faridabad continued their "Farm to Plate" project by planting a kitchen garden. They researched and planted vegetables like capsicum, brinjal, chili peppers, tomatoes, and coriander that grow easily. Students in Grade S3 did a map activity identifying different Indian states known for certain crops to enhance their mapping skills. The school also believes in hands-on learning, taking children to construct a house with a mason to learn about building materials and tools.

2. PLANTTATION DRIVE
Our students of Grade -2 took their next step
towards planting their kitchen garden. Continuing
with their project ‘Farm to Plate’ they researched
and discovered the vegetables that they can
easily grow.
They used their gardening expertise to plant
vegetables like capsicum, brinjal, green chilies,
tomatoes and coriander.
Now their wait to see their self grown veggies
begins!!

3. MAP ACTIVITY
‘Knowing our country is equally important as
knowing ourselves’.
Students of Grade S3 did an activity based on
Chapter – Agriculture wherein they identified
and marked different crop growing states on a
political map of India. This activity enhanced
their mapping skills and helped them to know
various conditions required for the growth of
different crops.

4. HANDS ON LEARNING
Learning by doing is what we follow at
The Modern School. Under the theme of
“Houses We Live In”, to clear the
concept children were taken out and
were given building material to construct
a house with the help of a mason. The
mason introduced them to the material
and tools used in constructing the
house. Children really enjoyed and
learned through this activity.

5. SCHOOL HEALTH PROGRAM
Halloween has roots in age-old European
traditions. It originated with the ancient Celtic
festival of Samhain, when people would light
bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts.
Over the time, Halloween evolved into a day of
activities like trick-or-treating and carving jack-
o-lanterns. Around the world, as days grow
shorter and nights get colder, people continue
to usher in the season with gatherings,
costumes and sweet treats. Today, Children
from Nur-P3 celebrated the Halloween festival
with full zeal and zest.

6. CLASS SKATING COMPETITION
“Winning isn’t getting ahead of others, it
is getting ahead of yourself”
It is not about being the best, it is being
better than you were yesterday!

Inter Class Skating Competition, was
