Sresha Banerjee
‘India Night’ was an event organized by students of Grade 11 and 12, on Friday
27th January, to fundraise money for a charity called Peace Child India. This
charitable organization focuses on health and education of young people housed
in Government shelters for young offenders, and providing access to art material,
life skills training, medicine and toiletries. Since August 2004, Peace Child India
has chosen 50 Rural Government Schools across India, to improve infrastructure.
The aim is to be able to provide better books, reading rooms and toilets, so as to
increase the student attendance and attention. The charity also hopes to
document the changes and then petition the Government to provide with its vast
resources, what a small organization has been able to. For further information on
this charity, please visit their website: http://www.peacechildindia.org/
The event aimed to raise money and awareness through the culture and flavours
