2. It's hard to find a defining characteristic of research writing. It's different from the regular essay
in that it's generally longer and more complex, but still an essay. It's a lot of work, but not as
much as a dissertation. It's a bridge between a term paper and a research paper, but still a little
more work than a term paper. And, of course, at the end of the day, it's a research paper, which
means a lot of work and a lot of time. So, the main challenges of doing research - in my opinion
- are time and effort.
3. The biggest challenge of doing research, however, is the difficulty of finding credible
sources to use. Not all websites are credible, especially when they don't list any
sources or don't cite the sources they do have. It's a lot of work to try to find credible
sources, but it's worth it in the end.
4. 1. "Chosen the right topic" I gathered background information and got a "sense" of what my topic is about.
2.Identified concepts and terminology central to my topic
3.Develop a research question or thesis statement
4.Selected source(s) of information »Based on my findings in step 1, I identified sources that provided me
with the kind of information that I needed.
5. I carried out my search
6.Evaluated the information I gathered.
5. Research is challenging because you have to contribute something new, and prove it to the
satisfaction of a skeptical peer group. You have to formulate this proof in a form such as a
conference paper or journal article, which is no mean task itself. The proof is the hard part.
However, having the right attitude and mentality when dealing with these issues will always
help the situation.
