Hammer is the parent company of Spitfire pictures,
an award winning Production Company and
Exclusive films international, a distribution
company. This is called vertical integration. This
means that all areas of production and distribution
are covered under this one company, saving time,
money and making the whole process easier.
Another reason we need a big budget for our film is
because we would like special effects and other
features that are very expensive and we would not be
able to do them without it.
Due to hammer owning a distribution company this
means that our film would also be marketed by the
same company, once again saving time, money and
effort. It would also have experience therefore
helping our film further. Due to hammer being a
well-known name in horror the film industry they
will already have a major fan base meaning that even
before it has been advertised there would be people
wanting to see films by them.
This company would also know exactly what the
best time to release the film is due to experience of
good release dates and knowing what other films are
coming out and when so that there is little or no
competition.
