This document discusses connecting industry in real-time from the edge to the cloud. It presents examples of integrating sensors, machines, gateways, analytics and cloud systems using a hybrid IoT event mesh to support different speed scenarios from closed-loop control to cloud and HQ integration. Challenges around integrating systems locally, across factories and multiple clouds in real-time are addressed. The document provides examples of quality management integration with SAP QM and a connected race-track demo combining real-time control, analytics and crash detection. A combined strategy for digital twins using simulation and data-driven approaches is also presented.
