TIME: 1 class= 45 minutes
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Writing, listening.
WARM UP:
1. Revision of animals (with flashcards) linked to can /can’t (10 minutes)
2. Group work: In three groups look at the poster and stick the paper with the action
that corresponds to the animal. (20 min)
3. Which sports or action can each animal do? Circle the most suitable option. Then,
write the complete sentence.
 The bird can/can’t swim/sing/ dance
 The bull can/ can’t play rugby/ do gymnastics/ stump
 The dog can/ can’t swim/ play football/ fly
 The kangaroo can/can’t jump/play basketball/ climb
 The monkey can/can’t climb/ride a horse/ play baseball
4. Complete the sentences with can or can’t (copy)
5. Write the sentences for you about the activities in the previous exercise. Use can
and can’t. (copy)
6. Listen and choose the correct word. Then listen and repeat.
Tom can/can’t play football
I can/can’t speak English
My mum can/can’t send emails
She can/can’t play the piano
He can/can’t act
